Love Never Dies 'Let Me Hear You Sing' Comparison

- This scene is one of my favorites in the show. For the Phantom, 1) it's a great moment to show the vocal range of the actor and 2) I think it also demonstrates how well they can act. This moment has the Phantom once again entrancing Christine and in some staging seeming to move her just with his words and movements.
Some notes: I included Ramin twice because the staging pre and post-changes were quite different. I prefer the pre-change for this scene because he was much closer and more intimate with her. And I didn't include the movie video for Ben Lewis because it would probably get the video taken down. But it is nice to hear a different version than the movie one; live versions are always a bit different. And finally, these actors are the ones I have recordings of that were in the musical. Some alternates/understudies went undocumented.
I will put the timestamps here and pinned in the comments.

For me I think Ramin and Ben are the 2 best out of this list, but they are ALL really good!
My top two would be Ramin Karimloo (#1) and Ben Lewis (#2)
The US Tour never came to my state so I never saw it but based on just the ones available here, my favorite is Bronson; it might have to do that there was footage to go along with the audio but his voice alone was still great. I agree with you, I'd only seen footage of post-change Ramin but I really liked pre-change! I liked hearing a different version of Ben Lewis as well since you get so used to hearing the same version over and over.
Ramin no question. Acting, vocals... yes
This is great! Any chance you can do a comparison of the phantom’s “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” After Christine dies? Ramin, Ben, Gardar, Bronson, Michael & John M.B’s cries are all on TH-cam I’m sure
Ramin and Ben did it for me
RAMIN KARIMLOO...he born to sing The Phantom,mi 2d Choice BEN LEWIS...the others, aren't bad,but...Phantom is intensity, tragedy, lust, evil, tenderness, not all can express it through their voices and histrionism, even some of they seems colds to me
Bo (11:01) Gardar (15:07) and Bronson (20:56) got it for me. Huge props to anyone who can do this, really. It's a goal of mine to belt this one day.
And the voices and acting for Ramin and Sierra pre-changes was better than the post-change version.
I adore how this sounds in German 😍😭
Yes! Adore you Marlene :)
OMG thank you so much for this!
Love this! ❤
I really love the design of the Copenhagen production! it's a shame there doesn't seem to be any video of it anywhere
Also my favorite scenes in the show. Nice compilation - thank you. As many are with Michael Crawford as the original Phantom, I will always find Ramin's performance to be the best (agree about #1 being better than #2). The show was developed around him. Never liked Ben's voice or performance. Vocally, my second choice is Bronson-magnificent voice, but didn't care for his acting in the show. Funnily, Tim Walton sounded a bit like Michael Crawford.
Bronson's "at last entwined" was vocally stunning, but his robotic acting took me out of the performance.
@@wildlive1296 I saw the show and I don't know if it was the height difference with Meghan Picerno, but he always seemed bent over, very un-Phantom-like. Meek and completely unthreatening. The tour was a mess all the way around IMO. They should have left London alone.
@Penelope Addy I'll take your word on the rest of the show, which I haven't seen. In the "before the performance" scene, he doesn't portray a seductive, powerful phantom. He almost moves like an animatronic.
I'm still bitter that the movie was not with the original London cast.
@@wildlive1296 Exactly. Good analogy. I am as well. Not a big fan of Ben's in general, although I understand his phantom was better. Anna is just cold. No chemistry. Shame. Would loved to have seen a double-header of Ramin and Sierra.
All beautiful!!!!! Ramin is best!!!!!
Hi! Happy belated Rosh Hashanah! Btw it’s my birthday tomorrow!!
Happy birthday!!
@@phanoftheopera Thank you so much!!!!!!!
Ramon is the Phantom of all time.
I have my issues with Love Never Dies… but man! So many of the songs in it are absolutely gorgeous, some of Andrews best in my opinion. And Ramin and Sierra’s chemistry is just unmatched!
I personally love that first clip of them, when Erik slowly puts his arm around her Music of the Night style but this time Christine just grabs his arm and tries to kiss him ❤ she just loves him so much! He is the one who has to pull away from her LOL.
You get the impression her mind is already made up, that she is not going to let Erik go this time, but she’s tormented because she knows this choice is going to completely upend her life, it’s all on Sierras face and I love it.
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Ramin will always be the best!
Ramin❤
I expected John to sing in Swedish, not English
It’s interesting that productions of Phantom and LND in Finland have been done in English. Maybe they figured it was easier than having to translate it? Something that was also odd when John played Raoul in the Gothenburg production was that the production was mostly in English, but one Christine would sing some songs in Swedish. But John is definitely capable of singing in multiple languages! He’s sung Phantom in the Swedish, English, and Danish!
@@phanoftheopera yeah funny thing about that, Finland is actually mostly an English speaking country, 90% of the country speaks it and in Helsinki the capital they speak mostly only English
