What I love about cars is they're a great equalizer. When a beautiful car pulls up, car guys will gather around and talk about it. A politician, a construction worker, a teacher, a CEO, a farmer, it doesn't matter... for those 20 minutes a car guy is just a car guy.
This is a message not everyone gets. people judge others by their looks or rank in the business world. But a mann with a 488 can appreciate a 86 or and evo and they even like to talk about cars.

My Tesla Model Y beats that 0-60 time by a half-second, while being a crossover SUV with over 60 cubic feet of cargo space. And it's not even the performance version (just the long range). Still, the 1967 Corvette's a very nice car, and a totally different driving experience. One's a functioning collectible that's super for driving/mechanical hobbyists and vehicle collectors, and the other is an economically and ecologicaly (to varying degrees, depending on where your electricity comes from) efficient, fun-to-drive piece of transportation technology. They're not mutually exclusive, and there's no reason for people who like one to be in opposition to people who like the other. For that matter, I like both; I just don't have the space and resources to keep a diesel car (my personal preference) to tool around in and an everyday car as well.

60's cars have terrible brakes if they're not modernized and this was his third time driving in 7 years and he's driving a 327 corvette. I'd be a little nervous too.
