Watching this laying in my hotel room for the 5th day on two antibiotics and respiratory meds. Had to find cleaner air so I hopped a quick flight to Danang where it's much easier to breath. Being in my 60's I have to say you are spot on about our health being our greatest wealth. The air pollution is brutal this year and making me consider skipping SEA during the dry season as the burning is out of control throughout the region. Best wishes to you and glad you're feel better!
Visit or live in Saipan. No pollution on crowds white sandy beaches.

I too had to cut my stay in Thailand short, sadly, i was with Thai Airways, going back to the uk 4 wks early cost me '£22, i considered i returned to the uk cheap, i changed my flight with Thai head quarters.
Geoff, we are all so glad your fighting fit again, just love you and your channel, your such a great character.
I was so ill. You would not believe it! Needed to get home. I’ve had this before when I was in Phuket many years ago. I knew I had to get home to recover
You couldn't find a pulmonary specialist in Bumrungrad or MedPark? Some of the best and certainly as good or better.
Eddie Sweeney did a Vid. on not feeling safe on the streets in UK, then goes to Thailand & makes a Vid. in the main Soi shouting,repeating over & over a Sex worker charged him too much...sounding like a typical Yobbo

Always book direct with the airline. Good decision to come home Geoff, that walk in the cold will do you the power of good. Cleans out the lungs. You can always return to Thailand anytime.
I think the booze is affecting him more than the lungs tbh. It’s the first video of his I’ve seen and his face screams alcoholic

@@PeterBren Not always. On Skyscanner it often costs the same as booking through a third party. If you book direct with an airline it's safer too, should there be any issues.

Hopefully it’s not to hot when you do your Chao Priya river cruise, it was so hot when we did ours a year ago ( April 2023) that we sat downstairs in the ac area and we had the whole place to ourselves! Go direct with the airline. Considering Songkran in BKK myself at the moment. If you need any advice about how to get cheap flights, drop me a message. Nice to see Howley online, that’s my patch. You're spot on Geoff - health comes first ,glad you are getting better. Happened to me once back in about 2010, was up in Isan and collapsed with sudden chest pains. The doc at the village clinic had a listen and advised me to return to the UK. Turned out to be an empyema for which I spent a month in hospital ! Ironically I was due in Pattaya end of next week but a week ago I had my 2nd brain bleed so that's a change of plans lol. Thank goodness for travel insurance eh?

Glad you are safe and much better Geoff. I had a very similar episode in Bangkok. I was in Pattaya for some time and no problems. I then stayed at a hotel in Bangkok near the airport link Baiyoke area and had the air con blasting cold air like you do. On the last day I was feeling total rubbish to put it mildly. I flew home and then a few days after it got better. If you are doing the cooking videos that will be great. I really like them and then having a go at cooking it. Take good care and keep up the great work.

Hi Geoff... good to see you are fit and well, really enjoy your movies!
Back in March 2022, just after things reopened after you know what, I visited Thailand again, but due to all those crazy entry requirements back then (pcr's and all that malarkey) I was pretty much forced to take out the Travel Insurance with Axa Thailand... This however came to my rescue when I fell ill on the day of my flight home... i'd made it to Swampy, but I was unable to board my flight with what turned out to be a nasty case of gastroenteritis, so I ended up taking a taxi to a private hospital where I spent the next 3 nights... Anyway, the surprising thing for me was that there was no excess or upfront payment with a claim the money back scenario... 100% of the bill was fully covered and agreed between the hospital and Axa...
One to note if anyone is heading to Thailand and want full coverage... I won't use anyone else but Axa Thailand now... a very easy website to navigate as well!

Hey Geoff, I met you at the airport and you showed me how to get to soy 11 via BTS train. it was fun chatting with you and being part of that video. I got fever and flu like symptoms and strained my chest muscles from couging. I wasn't able to fully enjoy my first time in Bangkok. There is always next time. Hope you are feeling better and go back and post the videos about china town and all the other fun things you missed out, cheers.

Get well Geoff as most guys will not understand getting sick for elderly people is magnified by not having the same resistance as younger persons. Brits are notorious for having weak Respiratory systems due to a damp climate which peaked in the 70's when Brits went to Spain & were fatally succumb to Legionnaire's decease. Best to sleep with a window open if you have to have A/C (same air just circulates in the room). I've spent my long life travelling t'World & believe me you got off lucky LOL Bitten by a Venomous Spider with treatment too far away is very scary
Thought you would have gone to hospital in Bangkok but when your not thinking straight and your on your own you don’t always do what is best but at least your ok now keep smiling 👍
Get back to Thailand ASAP now you're well Geoff! While the weather is still good!
