  • This is a segment from this morning's Locals Live Stream. To tune in tomorrow, go to plainspoken.locals.com at 6:15 AM Central Time for a time of prayer, scripture, and digesting developments in the church and the world.
The Global Methodist Church is in a period of expansion. A lot of that expansion is from people leaving the United Methodist Church, but an increasing amount of it is coming from regions where the UMC wasn't even present or active. It turns out that Mexico is about to be a new mission front for the GMC! In this short segment, we watch the public announcement of this new mission field, announced at the Trinity Conference of the GMC session last week. Enjoy and pray!

Thank you for sharing this video and the joy of this mission of planting the GMC in Mexico. Maybe there are those who asked themselves if the current Methodist Church in Mexico is orthodox, and the answer is: yes it is in theory, but in practice it is not. However, even if it were orthodox in its practice, part of the GMC's vision is precisely to be global. Blessings..!

This is exciting! I hope the GMC remains very positive towards church seeds. As some folks are forced to give up their buildings, it may well lead to a new Christ focused revival! I can see churches being hubs where new circuit riders (on motorcycles right?) go out to house churches and help rise up new communities. Perhaps this would be a reason to also keep lay speakers as a high priority.

This is good news. Anecdote: when I was a young teen my family moved to Mexico for my dad’s work. There was a Methodist church we were invited to attend. We attended one Sunday. It happened to be the day half the congregation left in the middle of the service due to internal conflict. We never went back. Bad timing.

The more civil way...cool, leaving this video in a much better place than the last one. Hope is always better than desperation.
I've always felt to be either United or Global one has to reach out a lot more than reaching in.
Now about your haircut... (sorry, could not resist)

As far I know, the main Methodist denomination in Mexico is mostly evangelical/orthodox , So why leave it?

People are free to decide for themselves. Pastors and churches have the freedom to belong to any conservative Methodist Church field.
