And no disrespect to the robes and their meaning.

William is far too self-conscious about what he's wearing. Never allowing himself to be seen dressed in a kilt when in Scotland is almost offensive. He really should do so if he wishes to be taken seriously as a Prince of Scotland. He would look truly splendid in one - as do all of the Scottish armed forces who serve the Royal Family.

Well, we need to see Catherine and Sophie both as Order Guards. Tickle me fancy, with your big feather. Some of those guys are pretty old, so maybe soon! And yes, I love Princess Catherine’s shoes too. I remember the pearl drops changing from the Diana pair, to the ones Catherine wears now.

Sophie has never put a foot wrong and has been so loyal that our beautiful late Queen was very very fond of her, which is why she got to go to Balmoral when the Queen passed away. Im really pleased she is blossoming and looking lovely in her late fifties.

That seemed quick...Catherine and Sophie both looked gorgeous and I love that after all the years of marriage, Catherine and William still give each other loving glances. It's so nice to see Catherine and Sophie get on so well....its sad Harry didn't marry someone who appreciated the royal family and wanted to support and be part of it, Catherine would have had a friend and support for all the busy days she has, but Sophie is stepping up beautifully 😍

The best marriage advice I ever heard, or even choosing a romantic partner, was to find someone who you could be silly with, laugh with, and genuinely enjoy. This was my hubby to his oldest child and my only. He gave that advice after his oldest made a comment about how his dad and I were talking to each other. We joke, all of the time. I deliberately mispronounce his first name, especially when he's being silly. We so do not act our ages. I will include my hubby in my kid count when talking to my friends. And he dances around like a toddler every time he hears it. My mom would roll her eyes, and my dad would laugh. My child swears that she is the most mature person in our household. Mostly because of our "arguments". Which are seriously reminiscent of what little kids do. The kids will pop popcorn, and we get comments from the peanut gallery. While they giggle. Kids, I swear, and yes, I'm including my hubby in there.

Sophie looked better in the dress than the model online did! Her hat profile reminds me of the bonnet style the aristocratic & royal ladies wore in 1500s which I think is a cool modern nod if it was intentional.
And Princess Catherine... what can you say about the lady who looks like a fairy godmother dresses her everyday 😂 She's got this underlying regalness as a baseline for her whole personality that just makes her glow. I adore her and that outfit! Polkadots with peeptoes?? Yes please!! Cue up some big band swing music! Oh and her hat game is on point. I LOVE how she puts the flowers under on the side of the hat as well. Ugh it's so high-proper-precious I could expire 😭😍😍

It’s funny seeing how these two dresses are inspired from the past (not as far as King. Edward’s time) but they remind me of the fashion during the young years of Elizabeth. You have Catherine’s outfit from the 1950’s, down to the shoes, and Sophie with a dress typical of the 50’s perhaps touching a little of the 60’s.

Yes, with Meghan’s hair length why did she never have a chignon or different layered buns? Maybe a matter of cash?? She spent SO much on gowns & frocks, & oversized shoes, & with Harry’s comparatively small allowance (Will’s & their dad’s being much larger), I think she jammed a hat on & let the hair go!😂

Agree totally and loved both of the dresses for the most part. The only thing I would have suggested was perhaps a short pink jacket (in the color of the object Sophie had in her hands) would have looked good with the dress, although maybe it was too warm for her to wear one. But she looked very nice. And I wish I could wear shoes like Catherine's. Getting older stinks.

I completely agree about the hairstyling. So beautiful.
My favourite Catherine outfit for this ceremony was the blue satin.
About Sophie's dress: I loved it, but I did not love a sleeveless style for something so formal.
About the cost of the dress and alternative styles: For those who know how to sew, this would not be a difficult dress to copy. Sewing your own also means you can fit it to your own measurements perfectly, and be assured that you have a unique garment. The only thing to make sure about is getting fabric that has enough body to get that same crisp effect.

    • @cindytartt4048

Years ago, but Meghan's worn some Emilia Wicksteads. She looked ok, not as good as Princess of Wales. Surprising, as Emilia's a fav of the Princess of Wales. In Dublin, Meghan wore a little black dress, and Australia, the one with all the buttons down the middle.
By the way, speaking of Sophie, did you know, Beebs (& Beebers) that Zara & Mike have been throwing shade at H&M by posing for identical photos mimicking the pair? I didn't know until the other day. It's all on the Saint Meghan Markle subreddit. Brilliant pic if anyone hasn't seen them.

Sophe has got this just right, the business of the print is balanced by the simplicity of the shape. The Princess of Walesis as always near perfect. I notice that William and Catherine have something similar to the Late Queen and Prince Philip, who were rumoured to make each other laugh a great deal. Having only been married 39 years I can confirm that a sense of houmour is something that every healthy relatonship needs. May I say that I throughly enjoy your commentary and which is always so respectful and appreciative, and I learn so much.

Sophie often wears florals that I think are dowdy and remind my of granny's bedroom curtains. Sleeveless dresses are not appropriate for royal appearances. She usually looks much better than this. I do love the hat though.

Loved Catherine’s outfit especially the hat 🖤🤍
Sophie seems to have upped her fashion since stepping up after Harry and Meghan left. Sophie looked beautiful at the Coronation, at Royal Ascot and at Garter day 🩷💜🩵
Loved Sophie’s shoes that she wore for Garter day too 🤍🩷

I remember an interview with Princess Diana fairly early in her marriage where she was wearing a polka dot outfit. She was asked about it and she replied something like “I’m quite fond of spots.” 😊

Love the midi length dresses Catherine has been wearing the last few years. With her height she can pull thiss length off, great conservative look for the royal family.

A great video. I watched a video of all the pomp and circumstance. What is even more impressive is that it was so hot that day that a soldier passed out, but everyone still celebrated the event. A nice moment was when someone shouted “God save the King,” when King Charles walked by the spectators. He smiled and waved.

This polka-dot dress is probably my favourite so far. It is a turn of the century (1900s) silhouette including the shoes with the delicate strap. Princess Kate has an amazing sense of style. But I think the giggles are out of place. It is childish and disrespectful to those taking part of the event.

I think some of Catherine’s fashion borders in frumpy, she must have to dress according to the Royal protocol. The headwear ages her

Another great video, Beebs. My only complaint is that your videos are not long enough!
I loved your slide with the progression of Catherine's dresses for the Garter Day ceremonies. Her style trend has grown with her in beauty and finesse. How interesting to see how her hemlines have dipped so much to what I consider a much more flattering length for her. The first few years were a "miss for me" because they almost had a juvenile baby-doll look. That style lends itself to that look...almost immature and childish. I did notice in the most recent polka dot dress, that her shins are bruised up again. Welcome to having a gang of young kids at home! That might also be the reason for her hems to be dipping. Whatever the reason, it's working flawlessly for her.
And I also adore Sophie. I could imagine hanging with her and being super best friends. She has that type of personality that is so likable that she collects friends and fans!

Maybe they were recalling Anne's red plume hat.
