Thanks Beebs, I agree that Charles and Camilla's choices around their wedding really worked. The feeling was that the point was to be married to each other rather than to have a ceremony of pomp for a second wedding.

Camilla's wedding ensemble is my favourite royal look of all time! The silvery blue coat-dress is so chic and romantic, and the feathered headpiece brought just enough drama to really elevate the look. I'm a massive fan of Camilla's style despite our age difference, and if I ever get married, hers is the style that I'd probably be looking to emulate. She looked fabulous 😍

I loved the grey/icy blue outfit Camilla wore, I thought it was absolutely gorgeous for a second wedding. As for Markle's dress LOL wearing a very pure white for her 3rd time down the aisle and one that didn't even fit her (like all of her clothes) - I 💯% agree with her Majesty questioning her choice. Catherine, The Princess of Wales dress was absolute perfection right down to the fit. Diana's dress was beautiful, it was the 80's, everything was big and pouffy! Being married myself in 1984, my dress was a cross between Diana's and Fergie's. More the style of Diana's but made with white satin like Fergie's. Hey, it was the times! Lol

Why the ex yacht girl wore stark white was a bloody joke, scarlet would have been a more suitable colour for her. @michanone I'm a bit older than Diana-that dress was very much every little girl's dream princessy dress, and to me it was the choice of someone who was very young and hadn't quite settled on a style of dress. it was also to spite the late Queen, who had said, no white, no veil, so of course, she wore the whitest white and the long train, which ended up not matching the dress, and the dress itself was not the one approved by the Queen, that is why it did not fit and looked a mess on the day, and who can forget the hairdo that fell out of the tiara. I know I'm in the minority here, but I've never been a fan of Grace Kelly's wedding dress. Grace Kelly was obviously one of the most beautiful women on earth, but in my opinion, the top part of the dress was just a mismatch to the bottom: tightly-fitted lace meets giant bell skirt, visually held together by a cummerbund.
Of course, in many churches, cathedrals, and abbeys, it is required that women have their shoulders covered, and I agree with that. It's not the Moulin Rouge. It's a solemn religious ceremony and should be respected as such.
My favorite wedding dress of all time was Catherine, The Princess of Wales's dress. Sarah Burton and the designers at Alexander McQueen absolutely knocked it out of the park with the dress's perfect combination of elegance, modernity, and femininity. It was beautiful, unpretentious, and regal. Her dress continues to blow everyone else's dress away, including my own. I got up that morning to watch the ceremony live from here in Texas, and the TV commentators were beside themselves. Catherine truly was a vision.
My least favorite, for obvious reasons, was meg-nut's. Wearing a blinding neon white dress, a veil that stretched across the UK, and a viciously-argued-about tiara for her THIRD trip down the aisle was a big ol' middle finger to the late Queen, the royal family, and the entire institution and customs of the British monarchy. But then again, that's how that hateful narcissist rolls.

Camilla looked absolutely lovely. Age-appropriate, yet still bridal and glamorous, festive.
Queen Elizabeth looked absolutely stunning on her wedding day, too, and I mean, she was such a beautiful woman all her life. Even in her old age, the bright colours, she always looked lovely.
I know this video is about brides, but can we also give the drop-dead gorgeous Prince Philip some praise? What a dapper bridegroom. Can you imagine such a fine specimen awaiting you at the end of the aisle?

Great analysis of the circumstances surrounding the wedding of Charles and Camilla. The biggest sign of Camilla’s desire to marry Charles rather than to join the Royal Family (and an indication of bowing to popular feeling in Britain at the time) was the fact that she never used the Princess of Wales title, instead using the secondary title Duchess of Cornwall. Diana was only a princess by marriage and, as far as I know, she should have lost that designation once divorced, except I guess the Queen allowed her to keep the Princess style as a courtesy…? I think the relative reputations of Camilla and Diana have undergone quite a shift in the last 20 years….

Queen Elizabeth looked so gorgeous in her gown! Hers is one of my favorites. Though the bust of the dress was not well-fitted, but now I know why.
Did you know that Queen Victoria started the who deal of a special, white dress for one's wedding? Prior to that, one wore one's nicest, best dress, no matter the colour, when one married, but the "wedding dress" as a distinct separate piece for one's wedding started with Victoria.

Thank you for the lovely video, the thing all these dresses have in common is that they are also modest which allows you to appreciate the actual bride rather than the dress and the dress designer IMO.
With Harry & the Meg's wedding, at the time, it wouldn't have made much difference if it was more low key, there was a little grumbling on the cost but only from the usual anti-monarchy quarters which didn't have anything to do with H & M this was par for the course and would have been like Christmas without bloating had it not happened (just plain odd) basically no one begrudged them their big day and it was low key in that it was not made a bank holiday which Charles & Diana's and William & Catherine's were as they were deemed state occasions as they were / are future monarchs the main controversy with H & M at the time as I remember it was that it was scheduled for the FA Cup final weekend and that DID NOT go down well (think Super Bowl weekend) this is another episode of recollections varying because at the time of the wedding both public and press saw the Meg as a great asset to the family and the country how little we knew..... later on we definitely wanted our money back.

I just wanted to add to what you said about the fact that the Tiara had snapped but I’m sure you know that the pearls which were gifted to her from her father were on the other side of London and one of the couriers had to with the crowds of people go get the pearls and bring them back to her! Well I guess it brought her blessings because there marriage lasted 73 years bless them, Margrets dress was simple but elegant if Meghan followed an elegant dress like Camilla I agree it would have been more appropriate!

I've loved most of the royal wedding looks. Some great choices were made and most of them capture the style of their respective era without looking too dated.
My personal favourite is the Queen's. I'm an elder millennial and it's the sort of dress my gran wore to get married in the late 40s. I love the strong-shoulder, cinched waist, full skirt look of that era and the silk/satin usually used for those gowns was gorgeous.
Meg's dress could have looked so much better had it been made of a softer fabric and properly fitted.
On that note, just wanted to mention that I think pretty much the whole of the UK (the royalists at least) were excited about H & M's wedding and didn't begrudge them the extravagant event they had. At that time, we were all looking forward to the era of the "Fab Four". However, as you point out, it wasn't to be...
Please cover Princess Margaret's and the more recent royal brides' dresses 😊

God, how stunningly beautiful Grace Kelly was! Surely one of the most beautiful women ever. I loved her wedding dress, but let’s face it that woman would have looked good in a sack. I think both of Camilla’s wedding outfits were lovely, extremely flattering and appropriate for an older lady. She has a lot of style.
Re Haz and The Meg, THE worst thing they ever did was to rubbish the royal family. I don’t remember anybody criticising their wedding (except people who don’t like the monarchy and/or big weddings) prior to the Oprah interview. But they burned their bridges behind them and now everything they do or did is judged harshly.

That Jordanian wedding from a few months ago. Do that dress! The ceremony dress, not that big, ballgown thing. I’ve never liked slim-skirted wedding dresses. Always felt that was better left for New Years Eve sorta things. But my god that woman’s ceremony dress stopped me in my tracks. It was devastating. I have never seen a better looking bride.

Fun fact to add to the details about Princess Elizabeth using rationing coupons for her dress: There were 12 wedding cakes, some contributed by Commonwealth countries. Because food was still scarce in Britain for years after the war, most of the ingredients for the principal cake were donated by the Girl Guides of Australia, where we had no such food shortages. The crates of ingredients, including eggs and butter, took a month to arrive in Britain by sea. Elizabeth’s wedding really was a worldwide event.

Although not the first to wear white for her wedding, Queen Victoria is widely credited for kicking off the trend of wearing white, for royals and non royals. Images exist of the dress. Not sure if the dress itself is inspiring anyone today, it's very 1840.

Grace Kelly's bridal skirt (her dress broke down into three parts - bodice, cummerbund, and skirt) was a feat of engineering! The fabric needed to be stout enough to hold the unusual shape. The undergarments necessary for the shape were interesting. As unique and photogenic as it was, I can understand not wanting the shape.
Queen Elizabeth's gown was made from Chinese silk because Japanese silk was out of the question after WWII. Hartnell knew the silk wasn't as sturdy as Japanese silk, but there was no other option. I have no idea where I got that info. I was a bridal consultant for several years and have read more on bridal gowns than I care to admit. 😆
Personally, I've always loved Princess Margaret's wedding dress. It had to be big to give visual balast to the mighty Politmore tiara. Princess Anne's first wedding dress ranks as my favorite fantasy-inspired. Those sleeves! Those seams!

How lovely! Thank you Beebs! What a treat. I love seeing these iconic dresses, even though we've seen them many times before. I can distinctly remember watching Charles and Diana's wedding, for hours and hours! The anticipation of what Diana's dress would look like was thrilling. She was so beloved that she could have worn a potato sack and everyone would have swooned! In the moment, the collective sighs on seeing her dress was very much an approving nod back at her. That being said, looking at it now, it is so much over the top that it seems ridiculous. Keep in mind, that was the 80s so everything was big and puffy, from shoulder pads, bangs, hair, puffy sleeves, and fashion in general was "too much" fabric and fluff and puff. I'm still in shock right now, seeing her POP out of that carriage and she looks almost clownish as all the volumes of fabric emerges all wrinkled and creased from being stuffed into the carriage. That alone would have made me a nervous wreck. But, she was marrying the future King of England. so that in itself must have been consoling.
I'd love to see more examples of recent celebrity brides that have worn more than one dress for their weddings, like Catherine and Meghan. I've only seen a couple of photos of either bride and I would love to see more! Cheers Beebs!

Princess Elizabeth’s dress is my hands down favorite. I have always just absolutely loved it and think it was PERFECTION! I also adored Queen Camilla’s blue gown (and up until now, I thought the overcoat was Gold!!!!). Princess of Wales, Catherine’s is my next favorite.
Oh I forgot to say, no, I don’t think a more humble wedding would have helped Hazmat Hazelnut Harry and Moaning Malicious Meghan by much. There problems really seemed to start after the wedding and it was about how entitled and lazy they acted right away. They were constantly jetting off for vacations every other week, skipping appearances and doing almost no work. Then there was all of the secretive, sketchy things they were doing and the whining press releases.
