A note on the bumblebee goby, there is a true freshwater version of them. However the way to tell them apart is very difficult. It has something to do with the shade of yellow and the shape of the bands on them. When purchasing them you really don’t know which one is which.
Gobies are my favorite group of fish, right after puffers. That goes for both, fresh, brackish, and salt. They have such interesting personalities and behaviour :D
My purple spot goby is 5 inches i think. It is the most tame fish i have and lets me pet it and even pick it up when my hand smells like food lol. They look like a mix between a trout and a bass
I've had my Dragon Goby for around 5 yrs now, and he's a dream! He looks like he'd eat everything in the tank, but he's even gentle around Molly fry. Nicest fish in the tank!❤❤
The Bumblebee and Gara Rufa Gobis are quite popular here in Vietnam. While quite docile most of the time, the Bumblebee is quite a ferocious predator and will gobble up any small fry in your tank. Also, it comes without saying that your small shrimp wouldn't stand a chance. The females grow three times as large as the males. The males get gorgeous orange fins as they mature. In Vietnam the the Gara Rufa are known as 'Bac Si" (doctor fish) as they are excellent cleaners in your tank. They absolutely love eating spirulina/ chlorella tablets. Gara Rufa are a highlight in your tank as they are curious and highly active fish. Love these little fish! Thanks for the video
My panda garras go after my hands and arms everytime I go into the tank and will graze on me 😅❤ they are super fun a beautiful garra and not at all shy! I have a group of 7 adults currently. When they become adults they have BEAUTIFUL COLOR! I love raising these guys up! ❤
Bumblebee Gobies are aposomatic, meaning their colors warn of poisons in their skin. Most fish will leave them alone. I've even kept them with Archerfish with no problems.
The Gara fish that are used in spas to eat dead skin off of peoples feet are starved to near death and would eat anything to survive so no they don't eat dead skin in the wild... it's actually cruel and gross!!!...
I got introduced into the aquarium hobby by Walmart, I still use my 1st tank I bought there.
Lol, walmart was my best friend when it came to starting my first aquarium as a kid
I must say that you feature & teach about some of the rarest and more unusual species on TH-cam.
More folks should be viewing your content 👍🏻
Thank you!!!

Dragon Gobies do better in a brackish setup.
@8:15
Garras are not gobies; they are Cyprinids.
Yeah they're loaches I think? Got a bit confused there for a minute...
@maan9176
Not quite Loaches, more like a carp or minnow

Gara are in the family of cyprinidae.
Garras are sucker mouth cyprinids, not gobies. Gobies have 2 dorsal fins.
Had no idea Gara were gobies
Edit: they are not gobies… lol no idea why they are included in this video
No they're loaches.
@@maan9176 they are actually cyprinids. More closely related to carp and minnows actually
@@Specogecko Loaches belongs to cyprinids.
