- Kashmir Great Lakes - 80 Kms of Dream Trek which my eyes and subconscious can never forget...
Valleys so huge and grand that our eyes can't squeeze and put in one frame.
Snow capped peaks and rocks so beautiful as if designed especially by God himself.
Vast undulating grasslands in which hundreds of football stadiums can fit.
Numerous gigantic Glacial Alpine Lakes which sometimes look Blue, sometimes emerald Green and sometimes Grey from different vantage points.
Grazing Sheeps and Himalayan Goats, Galloping Horses.
This is by far the most beautiful landscape my eyes have ever witnessed.
KGL was a dream come true and I will treasure the beautiful memories forever.
I hope you enjoy the video as much as i have enjoyed doing this beautiful trek.

Very nicely captured..how difficult is the trek..is it advisable for beginners
Thank you Simit... It's a moderate difficult trek with long distances..I wouldn't recommend a beginner to go on this one...atleast do one or two easy Himalayan treks before this one.

Recommend you to trek in spring season next time
Sukriya Umair bhai...Inshah Allah next time will come in Spring but as far as i know there is too much snow in Spring and it's difficult to trek to high altitude, isn't it?

Only one alpine lake trek is enough in spring
e.g kounsarnag trek , tulain lake , sheshnag and more.
In August I am planning to tulain lake my 1st trek

Assalamualaikum bhai.. i m confused between Kashmir great lakes trek and tarsar marsar trek also??? Me and my wife are planning to do this monsoon Trek... What's the difference between these 2??
Both are really beautiful treks..KGL is not for beginners as it is a very long trek ..Tarar marsar is comparatively easy but not for beginners

Great view out there! I am from kashmir and i have been to great lakes. I was thinking of a solo trip, whats your suggestion
Thanks brother..Managing logistics will be a problem for solo trek but since you are from Kashmir i guess you can manage 🙂
Yes,I agree it's quite a distance and management is tricky but what if i visit only the first two lakes( vishansar,krishansar) instead of traversing whole route upto gangabal, I think I would save a myself a lot of hassle and energy.
You can also start from Naranag and visit Nandkol and Gangbal Lake in a day, go to zaj pass , stay for a day at Nandkol and come back following the same route..on the other hand visiting Kishansar and Vishansar will take two to three days from Sonamarg side

Main ek trekking company k sath gaya tha.. solo matt karo bhai iss trek ko kaafi lambba trek hain resources arrange aur manage ni kar paoge..go with a trekking company

Bro.. is mobile/ camera charging facilities available??
There are a few local shops near the first campsite that is Shitkadi where you can charge your phone/camera beyond that there is no option for charging. You can carry a few extra power banks/ batteries for back up
