You went from happy metal to "let's sacrifice the queen" metal. Others will comment about the head banging. As a tribute to Yoshiki the drummer for X-Japan who severely injured his neck from headbanging and needed surgery, BabyMetal uses the neck brace as a safety measure at their concerts. They also have a safer way of headbanging. Side to side not forwards and backwards.
Yeah they are happy metal but sh*t you not if they wanna go heavy they can. This is usually the track/performance used to put to sleep those saying they aren't metal. As a metalhead, that was what sold me for life. No more inner conflict. This was it. BM is positive metal but if they wanna go hard, they can and they will.
When Babymetal puts on a big show, they put on a BIG SHOW ! They can't do such big shows every time, but when they do it, better buy some tickets, maybe even fly to another country. I've done this ones. It was worth it for sure. Even just meeting all the fellow fans and hanging out with them for a few days was amazing. While maybe not directly a happy song, it is kind of a funny song: The song is actually the first song on the first album, because in Japanese they don't have a 'th' sound like in English. So when most Japanese people try to pronounce the English word 'death' it sound like 'des' (it is actually desu, but the u is silent) and that in Japanese means: "I am", 'we are' and a whole bunch of other similar meanings. But you also use it to introduce yourself, so it's perfect as the first song: Babymetal Death, Su-metal Death, Yuimetal Death, Moametal Death so it means: we are Babymetal, I'm Su-metal, I'm Yuimetal and I'm Moametal. 🙂 For many performances they've used it as the opening song, without all the pyro, show elements, etc. also at heavy metal festivals. Some metal fans think: these little girls, that can't be all that brutal, it's just a silly gimmick. But let's go see what they are up to, it might be good or a laugh. Then they open with this song. Proper heavy song. And it peaks the interests of the metalheads at these festivals I can tell you that ! It's even funnier when Babymetal had to open for Red Hot Chili Peppers on tour. Let's say they makes an impact.
Well you certainly did a different Babymetal Death version, i hardly remember someone else doing this reaction to an special version. This was at Legend S live at Hiroshima, SuMetal 20th Birthday, first live concert without YuiMetal, even though the song said her name. This song was usually used to introduce themselves, because they actually saying their names in the lyrics. I almost forget this was before the last song at that concert. This entire live concert is hard for me to watch for many reasons, including the last time we saw Míkio Fujioka, Kami Band guitarist before he passed away. R.I.P. kokami. I highly recommend you to watch the live at Legend 1997 version which contains more meaning. @@didymalgia I prefer the version they did on Dec 21 2013 at the Legend of 1997 concert for Suzuka's 16th birthday. This one lacks the elegance of that version imo. But the opening stage show of Legend S 'In the name of' is the best stage show ever.
@@Dragon-Believer I agree, In The Name Of is the best opening to a concert I have ever seen and the Legend 1997 Apocalypse is the benchmark performance of Babymetal Death. I don't think the symbolism is as impactful when you remove the Christian iconology that was present throughout that performance. It is hard to crucify someone properly without a cross.

And this is not the first time they do this. On her sweet sixteen (Su 's birthday) they did the same, closing her birthday party, and one of the longest concert ever of them, with her first cruxifiction. You should watch it, it is a little bit more sweet than this version on her twenties.

Wow, what a scenery (looks like taken from game Doom, I just waited for demons coming out).. for sure this concert is not for persons with epilepsy. Nice reaction. And this is where the #notacult came from. Nobody is ready for Death. Especially not Babymetal death. This may seem crazy but they actually did a harder version of the song for the 10 years of Babymetal at the budokan. How much harder? It's the Godzilla version of the song. However not as long since they didn't do the crucifying part at the end. They used it they way they normally do at the start of the show. Since the song lyrics are I am Su-metal, I am Yuimetal, I am Moametal, Babymetal. That's it, those are the only words. When doing an intro you don't really need any other words. Did you notice they still manage to sneak in their Kawaii? Yui and Moa giggle with the adorable smiles before putting the neck brace on Su. And then Yui fixes Su-metal hair. Always fine that funny. In an interview later Su said those flames were too close for comfort. Since then, I've noticed that their pyro use gets further and further away from her. Hmm I wonder if she spoke to James from Metallica when Babymetal opened for the in Japan. For more intro fun checkout "IN The Name Of" from Legend S concert. 'BABYMETAL Death' was the first track on the first album and was most often used as the show opener (without the crucifixion) - it is the perfect introduction - that is what the lyrics are:-
"B-A-B-Y-M-E-T-A-L Death Death Death Death Death Death. Su-metal death. Yuimetal death. Moametal death. BABYMETAL death. Death Death Death Death Death Death."
It is a pun, a play on words. There is no 'TH' sound in Japanese, so to a Japanese speaker the English word death sounds like desu (the U is silent) spoken with a slight lisp. Desu means "To be - I am - you are - we are - it is" etc ... so in Japan you might introduce yourself as "

Su has a nice upbeat solo song you could give a try. "Amore" Or maybe you could have some more fun at the club with "iine" MV. Or maybe a little game of hide and seek is in order? "Catch Me If You Can " with Kami band intro for best results. Tons more to choose from. 🤘🦊🤘 #Notacult
