I like the way you added the tarp coming out of the box. First time I have seen that.

Hi Joshua, thank you for the feedback. I'm always looking for different ways to use objects as long as I can justify my decision on how I do it. I'll let you in on a little secret.... after posting the video I took another look at it and I'm actually going to paint a Splinter pattern Zeltbahn instead of just a plain boring tarp. Hey, why do normal when you can get all crazy haha

Thank you so much for the positive feedback and the support. It really means a lot to me.
My aim is to keep providing some entertaining content and hopefully share more of what I've learnt over the many years I've been wrangling little plastic parts. I look forward to hearing from you in the future.

Hi buddy, only just stumbled on your channel. Brill. Love it. Love the way you present and chat. Your one very talented chap and listening to you is very enjoyable and interesting with the wee bit of history with facts, stories and showing your techniques. Youve also mention your "whoopsies" which is brill. When i was filming, bit strong for my videos, lol as im just a lazy arse and most were thrown together as i set my channel, social media groups etc etc, up for the sole purpose of helping others. Im no special person, i dont know much and i never go beyond my means. Im just a modeller that is still passionate about our wonderful hobby. Ive always made sure that even if it means me going without, im find aslong as the person or persons have what they need and beyond all smile and continue withh their passion, excitement and enthusiasm for our hobby.
If you ever put yourself through agony, pain, unbelievable boredom and are victim to watching one of my videos, then you will see i leave my mistakes, balls ups, there in the video as, well, its real life, a real life modeller, nothing special, going about his hobby and so on. These will range from my tablet falling off wherever ive put it, burning my wee little didgets(fingers) whilst attempting the good old tricks of heating the part up at an end then squashing it slightly so the part its attached too wont fall off and many.... MANY more...dipstick...Plonker things i do.
Ive always made sure in life that other folks are ok and have what they need to make them smile and HOPEFULLY, fingers crossed and other things ... keeps their enthusiasm for our brill hobby alive and making them WANT to come back and continue with our much loved Hobby. As everyday you see doom and gloom, shops closing on high streets that have been there for years and have so many happy memories for many. Firms going out of buisness or moving to other countries for financial reasons, which i totally get, our future looking bleak as kids nowadays lose interest because unless they can sit down, press more than 1 button several times, stare at a screen for hours on end ... They dont want to know. So as far as i can remember i cant imagine my boy (15) sitting for an hour or so on the floor, designing and building a Scalextric track or setting up a table for their Subbuteo pitch and stadium.
Anyway, just incase your still awake and reading tiis comment which i started writing to you around.....ooowwww.......eeerrrr......ah ha, remembered .. back in 1982..!!! Ha ha i wanred say thank you for not only building this prooject, filming it and then uploading it for us to enjoy... Thank you.
P.S... Your talent should be seen by more folks around the World, that talent, cracking bit of editing and recording and also balls for showing your project to us with mistakes, chat, you know so much more . So when i get back to filming, health allowing, ill make sure i and many of my mukkas from inside our Hobby who im proud to call friends share your videos, projects etc because your work needs to be seen and enjoyed y so many more.
Please wtay safe and your family
    Regards
Steve ( Mottys Military Models (YT)..

      Hi Steve,
Thank you so much for your positive feedback and sharing some of your story. It's touching to hear from others who have spent time posting their own content.
Like you, I started this journey on TH-cam to share what I know and hopefully assist others to widen their skill sets and enjoy our awesome hobby a little bit more than they did previously. I'll always try to share my mistakes as well as the polished work. It shows that all modellers,, irrespective of skill level, actually do make mistakes. we are human after all. I'll try to find your channel and see what you've been sharing. I do love see everyone's work.
Thanks again for reaching out. Stay in touch mate.
      Regards
      Stewart

Holy guacamole 🥑! I am building that EXACT kit now. I am building it in the Panzer Grey and winter whitewash scheme.
I thought you were building the OLD Panzer III Ausf M/N from the 1970s. That would be ooooooooold school. 😁

I wish I still had more of those older 70's and 80's kits. Some will be collectables one day.
In building the newer kit (2008 I think it is) there's an obvious link to the earlier kits. Combined with PE and a metal barrel, they sit somewhere between old Tamiya Kits and the newest generation with lots of 3D printed parts or link and length tracks.
Glad to hear you are building the same kit. It's a fun build. Not a lot of parts and they go together like butter. Hope you can share your work as I really love to see what others in our hobby build.

I prefer vinyl tracks as I see no fun in cleaning and fitting about 200 small track pieces.

Mate I hear you. I do love metal tracks myself, but the pain of cleaning out holes and then joining them is a thing. I haven't completed a set of Tamiya vinyl tracks in many many years and it was a pleasure to do these ones after all that time.

Awesome pick up there Andy. Thank you Sir,
I'll correct that later today and give you a shout out on my next video. I really appreciate feedback and comments from viewers and error corrections are always most welcome. Just goes to prove that anyone, even experienced modellers can make errors. haha Cheers.

Thanks Stewart, another great video. I note some not so "out of the box" elements that you didnt cover (bent/missing fenders) and wonder if you will cover these in another episode? Applying selective, realistic damage would be great to understand further and tie in with the use of quality reference materials. I look forward tio the painting episode as I have always painted the different elements seperately before applying them to the model. Road wheels, stowage, tools etc I would always usually do on their own so I look forward to seeing how this works with everything already attached.

Hey there Adam. The term "out-of-the-box" reflects the concept of building a model using nothing more than what comes in the box. Often a challenge in itself, especially if like me, you are used to modifying kits to be more accurate (and therefore more cool haha). So my aim with this kit is to build it like "we" would have back in the day ... using what is in the box and maybe some very limited bits of extra stowage that the scale modeller back in the 80's might have as spares from previous kits. It's essentially a nostalgia build.
So I've limited my additional stowage items to things we would have as spares from other kits - German Helmets, German water bottles, a gas mask canister, Jerry cans etc. All of these will appear in a set of reference images that will appear in the painting video as I explain both the stowage layout and the late troppentarn paint scheme unique to DAK forces in 1943.
I'm glad you mentioned painting tools etc off the vehicle. When I was much younger, I always glued everything on and then painted the model. It was just a thing we novice modellers used to do. I see it in the occasional video on TH-cam still, and from some very experienced modellers too. So in the sprint of "the good old days", I'm going to do it with this kit and show everyone how you can paint them effectively. I have left the road wheels detachable and I'll paint them off the vehicle as I really don't want to repeat what I had to do in the previous build (the E60) where I had to paint road wheels on the hull..... yeah not ideal and a bit of a pain in the butt. Glad your enjoying the build and thank you for your comments.
