Always wanted to try the Oreck XL. Never thought the $200 was worth it. But found one of these guys at goodwill for 5 bucks. Best thrift store purchase I ever made. Who ever owned it before took really good care of it. It even had the Oreck service center sticker. I refurbed it up and gave it a new belt, and works great on my short pile carpets. Definitely recommend refurbing a used unit.
I told the operations manager at our museum to go visit a vacuum dealer down the road for recommendations on commercial vacuums because we have a lot of low-pile carpet (like 20,000 square feet in just one major set of hallways). She came back with one of these. I don't know what their cleaning service uses at night. This one is for them to use randomly if they have an event and need to do a quick cleanup. Guess I'll tell her to get the filtered bags.
I have an Oreck XL like this, a residential model from 2008 that's used in-between deep cleanings that I have more powerful machines for. I like it for what it is.
My Grandma has an Oreck XL from the late 90s. As i visited her last year her made gave her a shark, claiming it's a really good vacuum cleaner. So vacuuming was done with the shark for a long time and as i vacuumed for her, i got the old oreck out and it got so much out of her carpets it was insane. I like the oreck XL. A nice classic little vacuum. But nothing beats a Sebo and Vorwerk, we have both of these in my family 💪🏽
I have one of these at home and like it. It's not the best vacuum for everyone, but it's very simple and works better than most vacuums that can be found for $150 at a store. I've also used these at work in a school and I prefer using light weight vacuums like these for cleaning classrooms in a school.
Thanks for the video! We have one of these brand new we found, but I am looking for the bag dock you mentioned. Can you share the link or information about what you are using? Thanks!
Would love to see a review/your thoughts on the Hoover hushtone commercial. It seems like a great deal and from other reviews I’ve seen it seems to outperform a lot of other vacuums out there. Also it’s time for me to upgrade and I’ve had my eye on one for a while haha. Love the content!
The are very light only eight pounds easy to use only issue is the fan goes bad on them also they don’t do great job of deep cleaning since the roller brush bristles are soft they are easy to repair take apart and maintain
As someone who is collector I have worked on a oreck once clear down to the fan but that’s been at least 10 years ago so it’s been a bit I’m going to pick up a used but in excellent condition xl21 is there anything u recommend I do to it before turning it over to mom to use as her regular vacuum I do plan on buying the purple bags for it but want to see what else u recommend I do too it as I don’t mess with oreck to much
Not perfect and definitely has it's flaws but if I had to buy the best brand new budget vacuum, this would be it. As long as it gets taken care of properly and serviced regularly, it'll definitely last for years.
Even though work makes residential and commercial vacs I've never enjoyed how loud or whiny they are And I Get That they are a direct air machine I Still think they're really loud 😂

Awesome video. In Phoenix area Oreck are not popular now.

Didn’t they come in gray? My grandma had an Oreck in gray but not commercial this particular model
Like I said in the video it's been made in every color.
Hey, I Think A Sanyo Dirt-Hunter Fantom Twister FM788HG Is A Better Deep-Cleaner Than This Oreck!
Riccar R10e is better.
Yeah but who wants to give money to a scummy company like Riccar/Tacony ?
