    This is a powerful, and emotive vid, it also reflects the initial struggle for those who live hiding our sexuality when the HIV diagnosis hits up. I call this the double whammy, first getting out of the closet then disclosing our HIV stats. It's something pretty heavy.
    I have a similar story. Back in 2007 I was ready to get out of the closet to everyone, and send them to hell. I was in shape, with a... good work. Everything seemed fine and the time seemed right. However, the Aids symptoms showed up. I guess it came from one unprotected encounter I had two years ago, but I always evaded doing the test. I mean, it was only once, right?
    Now you see how twisted my logic was, I was in denial, so I didn't test myself (luckily, besides that one, I always used condoms so when my seroconversion started, at least I didn't infect anyone). Total denial, the symptoms started, I began to lose weight, along with some nasty symptoms of the Aids phase but I still denied it was HIV, until the doctor forced me to get tested. Honestly, I preferred a cancer diagnose than being HIV positive. I know, don't tell me, that's how deep in denial I was.
    Then in 2008 I got the diagnose, and started on the HIV meds right away. My physical state was atrocious, my mental state was even worse, I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror. All the nasty things I saw in the 90s about Aids came to my mind, I hated myself, deeply. Depression took in, I even attempted suicide once, and had multiple suicide thoughts. For 2009, My viral load and CD4 finally stabilized and by the end of the year I got my first undetectable stat.
    However, I didn't felt like I could move forward to anything. Yes, my HIV stat was out to my entire close family, who was supporting me all along, but my coming out of the closet? forget about it, the double hit of being HIV+ and gay... I wasn't ready to tell them that. So from 2007 to 2024 I never met anyone for sex. Not once. I wasn't ready to deal with disclosing my HIV stats to anyone (even if we used condoms) and being out of the closet? what's the use? for any potential partner to reject me? my life got into a frozen state for +14 years.
    This year... I finally garnered some courage to come out to some members of my family that I want them to know... it was great, but things like you had to endure with your friend, always were in the back of my head, so I always pushed away any potential friends or even partners. I always thought that by revealing my truth anyone would stab me in the back. I still have this idea, with a truckload of mental health issues derived from the trauma of my diagnosis. I also learned about the undetectable thing, that we're not able to transmit even if we wanted to, so it encouraged me to... I don't know, look outside, meeting someone for sex, even casual. Difficult because I'm 45, and I no longer have the body of the 27 years old young boy I was at 2007.
    But well, here I am, navigating through all these issues, like everyone else. At least both of us have supporting immediate family. Keep going Peter, I subbed your channel right away.

      @@metalfenix bless you my friend for sharing your story with me. This had me in tears. We are the same age also. For thirty six years I hid my sexuality out of fear and shame. But now I’m open about being bisexual. It’s a liberating experience to not be hiding who I really am… and also not hiding my status any longer. I still have my down days but I also have a loving family around me to lean on when needed. So happy you’re here my friend.

    Thank you so very much for sharing this deeply personal...yet deeply inspiring video. I'm glad to have stumbled upon it. Surely...there are no coincidences. I lost my childhood best friend to aids (five years old, when we met in Kindergarten) when we were 36 years old. He has family...a big brother and sister-in-law, with children, with whom I am still extremely close.... but it was such a fearful time...outside of medical staff, I was his ONLY caregiver...right there to the moment he took his last breath. That will 34 years ago this October.....still painful....but it has become a loving memory too. I send you all the best wishes...and may God continue to bless you in your life journey.....from San Francisco.

    I don't know why TH-cam decided to offer me your video, but I watched it with interest. I can relate to going through a year of utter hell when everything is a complete mess. For me that was 2019 when I also learned who my true friends are. HIV is a life circumstance like any other, and we each have something we're dealing with in life, but I agree that one can't go very wrong by treating others as one wishes to be treated. Hope your life is good and you are happy. Things have a way of settling themselves in the best way.

    Hello Peter, thank you so much for this video and the trust to share such personal informations with us🙏🙏
    Your sexual live is your private thing and nobody has the right to share secret informations of you. In your case you needed someone to talk, who you declared as your friend because you know him nearly 18 years and he seemed to be friendly and loyal. I am so sorry that this person betrayed you after this long time of a friendship. There a really only few trustful people in our surrounding. In my case I think I can only trust 10% of my whole contacts in private and in the work.And I made often the experience to get betrayed from people, who "played" to be my best friends, so I have really a great lack to trust someone. And you dont have to tell anyone about your hiv infection. If you get a new job you do not have to tell this someone. If you have a new sexual partner it is your duty to make safer sex if you know your status.When you take your hiv pills long enough that the virus cannot be detected in your body you cannot transmit it anymore. I feel with you and you seem to have a really great personality. Stay strong and all the best for you🙏👍

    I hate that, that happened to you. Wisdom says to free yourself from mental slavery, but wisdom also said not to overshare or tell your left hand what your right hand is doing. Which "wisdom" is the best to follow?

    How do you deal with religion, your faith, and your sexuality? Why do you still say that you are bisexual??

    • @Peter.c106
      @Peter.c106  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      Yes I am a Christian, and yes bisexual also, or same sex attracted. The fact I can talk about what was once hidden for so long has been a huge help for me. I’ve completely changed over the past three years with the help of God and my family. The difference is I am faithful and open and honest about who I am. Everything that was once hidden is now in the open which is extremely liberating.

      Yes I am a Christian… who are you to say otherwise. "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

    • @justyouraverageintrovert8487
      @justyouraverageintrovert8487 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Who are you to judge or say you are sin free? Of course Peter sins-he’s human. There’s nothing Peter said to make you think he’s not a Christian. Was it the fact that he said he’s bisexual? That’s not a sin. What Bible do you read? The KJV? Did you know that if you actually dig back into Biblical history, the original verse that says “*a man shall not lie with an adolescent boy* (due to pederasty in biblical times) was later translated into English and when the verse was coined “a man shall not lie with another man (Lev 18:20, 20:13) by the Germans, that translation was adopted by Europeans, only to be spread throughout the world over time. There wasn’t even the word “homosexual” until the 19th century. You need to educate yourself instead of trying to put someone down because in this case, it shows your ignorance and God will hold you accountable for each person you push away from Gods love. You have to remember the Bible is full of translations. Do you think when God created hermaphrodites, He messed up? The Bible doesn’t speak about them so who did God plan for them to be with? Think about your words. There’s power in words, in education, and love!

    You consistently justify your high risk behavior and infidelity by disclosing your wife's behavior. Which is by the way, what you are talking about today. Someone outing you without permission.

      My wife is very happy about me discussing our lives. And I’m not justifying anything. And what high risk behaviour would this be?. The difference between me and people like you is I’m owning my mistakes in the hope of helping others. I also don’t judge anyone unlike yourself. Ever heard the saying… stop looking at the splinter in other people’s eyes and take the plank out of your own. Please think before commenting again.
