7:03 Fun fact: The whole thing about the British unfairly taxing tea was actually propaganda. The British lowered taxes on tea in the Thirteen Colonies in the 1770s, but Founding Fathers like Samuel Adams spun it into the whole "taxation without representation" thing because they'd been making a killing smuggling in tea when the taxes were higher.
For as much hate as this plane gets for being spammed by newbies, it’s just a genuinely fun plane to fly, and a good introduction to missiles and countermeasures for newer players
new players? in jets?? unheard of! nobody would ever skip the grindplay and jump effectively four skill-tiers above their own, by buying a jet early instead of spending weeks to unlock one! nobody would EVER do that! (i will permanently have jaded hatred towards the whales of this game, even if i watch their content.)
@@carlwheezerofsouls3273 weeks? I've played the game on and off since before they added tanks, and still don't have jets lol. But I've never really gotten into the grind lol
Such a cool plane. 434 sqn from Cold Lake had one that suffered a flame out due to electric failure, occupants ejected and the plane did an almost perfect wheels up landing on its own. It was recovered slightly bent and then used to train airframe and engine techs.
Slight correction if it hasn’t been mentioned, the F-5 is still used as an aggressor by the US Navy and USMC at NAS New Orleans, NAS Key West and MCAS Yuma.
I didn't know about that little tidbit about that paint peeling away and you could see the real color of the jet! Now, I have to rewatch that and try to see that. That was a great bit of flying by all 3 of you! That ground and those trees were just jealous that they can't move.
Bo: " keep doing things" . Stick: "what do you mean keep doing things?" Despite having occasional zero communication skills, you guys have great in-game rapport. Thanks guys, you are always entertaining!
The thing about the AAA shooting you down : they've changed how it works recently during the last major update. They wont fire at you at all until you kill a ground unit if you dont have any bombs or rockets on. You killed that one AI unit, so they started to light you up.
6:00 Bo stole that move straight out of Top Gun! He went temporarily below the hard deck to gain the advantage while dogfighting. It worked too (they stopped following him).
Canada is a repair station for f-5s. My now retired uncle would test fly them after repairs and then fly them back across the ocean to the UK or Germany where another pilot would then fly them back to their end user. He flew f3’s for the RAF and f-101s, 104s, and ended with the cf-18 in the RCAF. He loved the simplicity of the f-5
I may despise seeing this plane get spammed and damaging entire BR's whilst being impossible to fight sometimes. It is a lovely plane to look at and very fun to watch Botime and the gang play!

The British lowered taxes on tea in the Thirteen Colonies in the 1770s, but Founding Fathers like Samuel Adams spun it into the whole "taxation without representation" thing because they'd been making a very tidy profit by smuggling tea when the taxes were higher.
I regret not buying this when it was available for preorder. I LOVE this skin, and this thing is amazing to fly. This thing and the A-4 were amazing as aggressor aircraft
I always loved that plane. It has a very nice and particular silhouette. Back when I was young, there was a franco-belgian comic series about a canadian Cold War pilot called "Dan Cooper" who flew different fighters that were historically operated by the Canadian Airforce like the CL-13 Sabre (canadian version of the legendary F-86), the CF-101 Voodoo, the CF-104 Starfighter or the experimental and very advanced for the time CF-105 Arrow. But one of his most important aircrafts was the CF-5 (the canadian version of the F-5) and it was one of my favorite. It was a really fun comic and it had very accurate drawings of different planes from both friendly and opposing forces. It made me interested in Cold War fighters. There were several franco-belgian high quality comic series about fighter pilots in these times like Tanguy et Laverdure (French Airforce pilots) or Buck Danny (American pilots). The two former are still on going and have been translated in English. I would warmly recommend them for those who loves fighter aircrafts and comics. Buck Danny in particular has been noted for the accuracy of the aircraft drawings and operational procedures.
When you work in 105 degrees all day. ICED SWEET TEA is life saving. Every Englishman I have been around said they never understood how you could drink it that way,............. until they got to Texas. They all love it now.
Yea the main reason i almost never fly this jet is, its everywhere. And I hate it too, since it makes 9.3-9.7 jets unplayable, do to i refuse to play a full uptier with jets, and just instant quit!
very good video there are still 17 countries that still use the f-5 fighter in there Airforce's. also Iran has built 3 home versions of f-5 but not very many though.
To add to your history bit at the beginning of the video, Northrop took F-5E's after Vietnam and used them to develop a series of prototypes that eventually lead to the YF-17. If you search for the N-300 prototype, it's a redesigned F-5E with a modified strake/leading edge and a recessed intake under the wing, a design that carried through the P-530 and P-670 prototypes and all the way to the F-18. Additionally, the Russians received several that were captured from the South Vietnamese at the end of the war which were tested by Mikoyan, and what they had learned from the F-5 prompted the development of the Mig-29 after the war. There are articles that were written by soviet test pilots claiming that although it was underpowered, it still could perform better than the Mig-21's and Mig-23's Russia had on hand at the time. Knowing that the Cobra eventually became the Hornet, and that the Hornet and the Fulcrum are considered to be very similar in capability, its interesting that both of them stemmed from the same jet and they turned out to be so similar in performance. To this day there are a few private groups that own fleets of retired F-5E/N's that are use for adversary training, as well as VFC-111 which still uses the Tiger II as aggressors. The F-5 is arguably the most influential fighter ever made.
Iirc the F-5 is considered the best budget day fighter built. I can't wait for when they finally add the F-5's decendents: F-5G/F-20 Tigershark, YF-17 Cobra and F/A-18
They still test newer pilots and aircraft against the F-5's we still use them as aggressor aircraft, not to mention the legendary T-38 talon is a under powered F-5 essentially.
I didnt see anyone in in a 4G negative dive... Except for Bo when deciding to be a Lumberjack and not a pilot. I wanna see Bo pull a Cobra with the F-5C and use more Split S manoeuvres..
Technically still in service with the US. The T-38 Talon is just an unarmed 2 seater F-5. It's been the main supersonic trainer for decades and is only just getting phased out now. Also the USN still has two squadrons for aggressor work. Also fun fact, a good chunk of the still flying F-5s, aren't actually F-5s. They're Canadair CF-5s. Canadair in Canada made them under license back in the 60s and 70s, supplying the RCAF and also the Royal Netherlands Air Force. Many of these aircraft were in good condition after their respective owners finished using them, so they were sold off to other nations. CF-5s ended up with the Turkish, Hellenic (Greek), Venezuelan, and Botswana air forces, all of which they're still in service with except the Greeks. A number of them are also used by private contractors in the US to provide aggressor services to USAF and USN pilots.
I’ve been thinking of getting this but idk if I should wait for the anniversary or do it now while I have a week off school, I’m not a complete newbie but I really want a jet so I think I should get this, it looks so fun😭😭😭
Re. F-5s as Aggressors: Another reason the F-3 was used in Aggressor Squadrons was because it's flight profile was similar to one of the common Soviet export fighters (I think it was the MiG-19). The A-4 was chosen for a similar reason, apparently it's a good match for the MiG-17.
G'day Bo, Airfield AA was strangely nerfed recently so being cautious of AA is pointless. Ohh well that's rare a MiG-21SPS-K carrying the SPS-141 countermeasure pod, that's useful for the current MM.
