Watching Dan trying to mount the table bases was very reminiscent of mating tortoises. He even makes similar noises when his ‘tank tracks’ struggle to get stuck in.
The newest Dyson robot is called the 360 VisNav. I don't think it's available yet in the United States but based on the price in other places, I think the price here would be around $1600. That is an absolute rip off for what it does. Apparently on the max setting the battery only lasts 15 or 20 minutes, on the normal mode it lasts 45 minutes. That is far below most other robots, even much cheaper ones. There is no self empty station and no mopping capabilities. For that price, you can have a robot that navigates really well, vacuums, mops, empties the dust bin and automatically washes and dries the mop pads.
a normal robot vacuum would use IR emitters and sensors to find the base, but this one uses those checkers which, through machine learning can be reconised by the camera on top
Even when this was new, this was already lightyears behind the competition. Even the new vis nav is way behind its competitors. As much as I like dyson, they just can't figure out robot vacuums
I think the machine struggled on your coffee table and side table because it was so reflective, it confuses the sensors and lasers they use to navigate
A machine for collectors, well, yes it looks nice and may be picks some dirt. A different approach to the Electrolux Trilobite that you show some time ago. Still as you say we can enjoy cleaning(yes some one does) but robots cleaning? Well robofloor cleaners (only floor) are all over the place some even are more than just an expensive toy but more time will pass until a real cleaning machine does the same as a human does while cleaning. So still interesting and lovely toy for collectors.
Maybe the newer models are better but this one is a prime example of a product being overengineered just for the sake of being overengineered. I guess that's how Dyson "supports" their rather outrageous pricing. You basically have to clear out the entire room just to even make the thing work properly. Nope...I''ll just use an "antiquated" corded and bagged vacuum if I have to do all of that.
There are some things that Dyson designs well and some things that they don’t. Robotic vacuums are one of the things that they do not do well. They look great, have all these features, and pick up well. Unfortunately, as you say, that is all useless when it can’t navigate… at all.
@@huskyvacs Actually, it’s not. The DC06 was their first. Although I can’t quite remember what happened with it, because I don’t think it was ever commercially available. But it was one of their released models. Also, I have heard that the Heurist was not much better than this one and I’ve heard of complaints regarding the Vis Nav too.
I remember having an earlier Robot vac (Roomba) it was basic at cleaning although it coped quite well with rugs etc and chair /table legs and that had a soft brush roll and a rubberised brush-roll and suction, it was quite basic at mapping out but it was ok for what it was, and a lump cheaper than Dyson, I think Dyson for the money appears a bit disappointing. This must need an empty room only!
So nice seeing a video of this not made by tech reviewers right after release. It's hard to find real videos of newer robots that actually show them in action and talk about them in a way that matters. It's nice to see that the robot can be paused and moved without cancelling the whole cycle. Samsung powerbots can't do that, and they can get more confused and stuck than this! The heurist should be better because you can tell them to avoid areas in the app.
I had this model in the past. It had excellent vacuum power, but terrible navigation. It easily got stuck on things and couldn't free itself from it, unlike Roomba.
The navigation on this seems rubbish. The camera navigation is just inferior to lidar machines. My ecovacs robot has no trouble navigating and rarely gets stuck
Never impressed with robot vacuums but interesting to watch nonetheless Roger. Maybe one day i could learn to like robot vacuum cleaners but that day is well into the big beyond. I do feel sorry for that cute little thing though - more stop start than a bus!
It's too tall to go under most furniture and it's ugly as sin. I'd pass on this one, personally. Dyson needs to focus on what they do best which is stick vacs.
😂 Dan is a bit shit. Very funny to watch him try to mount the table. If shiny things make him go mad what happens with a mirror? No point having a robot if you have to move the furniture to use it.
Good lord that was painful to watch. The 360 Vis Nav is heads and shoulders above its two predecessors when it comes to cleaning performance and navigation.

😂🐢🐢
@@221b-Maker-Street I too had a similar thought
Great video Roger, I felt kinda sorry for Dan at the end , at least he tried.
its danny dire.another great dyson cleaner!
YOOOOO!! You deserve 5M subscribers!!!

Have to say, Dan was hilarious 😂
It would be interesting to know how long it took to vacuum your living room.
Dan has all of the grace and performance of a £30 robot vacuum from a dodgy internet site. Fun video but terrible vacuum. Cheers Rog.

I'm glad you named him, so you could use his name when you talked to him. He made my teeth itch!

Cool Dyson 360 eye
I’ve been wanting to try one for a long time and the blue one you have you can set areas for it not to go like where is gets stuck
I heard the video of it in one of your shorts Called taking your break from vacuuming
That's it. I will keep my roomba!!! Nice demonstration although.
Hello @ibaisic, I'm currently having trouble connecting my 360 Eye with the app. What was the solution for you?
I think the machine struggled on your coffee table and side table because it was so reflective, it confuses the sensors and lasers they use to navigate
Form not following function what I do like about it is the brush roll is full width of the cleaner

I think the issue is the tank treads don't like your carpet pile, combined with a poor nav system, it's all over!

good god, it is a lot of work maintaining it. more work than the work doing the floors

掃除機だらけだから床綺麗そう
You wouldn't own a dyson, dyson owns you😂😂😂
1 and a half grand well spent?!
It didn’t cost anywhere near that. This is not the latest overpriced version.
@@ibaisaic Oh right phew 😂 have you tried the latest version in store at all? Any good?
No plans to spend any more money on a new Dyson for the foreseeable future, though I do have another Dyson robot to show at some point.
@@ibaisaic If you have the DC06 then I honestly think your entire collection is complete 😂👍
It's discontinued because it cost way too much money and it sucks. They pulled it from the market intentionally to make a newer revision.
Really want one (as a pet)
Would have been good if it had sensors to avoid the furniture instead of having a breakdown
Dyson first robot vacuum failed they made this model just do same thing all over again 😂. Why the heck it keep jumping on carpet so much 🤔
The new Dyson isn't much better. Had one for a month and couldn't fully clean my house. Will ALWAYS have a roborock. From now on
The navigation on this seems rubbish. The camera navigation is just inferior to lidar machines. My ecovacs robot has no trouble navigating and rarely gets stuck

Looks smart looks like a ufo & the thing about hovers they clean the Earth 🌎
To be fair it’s one of the best robotic vacuums I’ve seen 😊
Wait what 😂
360 vis nav is a huge improvement
For the price of this robot aswell id expect better!
Wow first comment 🎉
Who?
An aesthetically-beautiful machine. Though like a stunning but frigid woman…it fails to deliver its spunk.
It's too tall to go under most furniture and it's ugly as sin. I'd pass on this one, personally. Dyson needs to focus on what they do best which is stick vacs.
Dyson stick vacs are awful. The uprights were what they did best.
WHY YOU NOT UNBOX ME😡
1000£ DAMN
Looks like he’s back scratching 😅
😂 Dan is a bit shit. Very funny to watch him try to mount the table. If shiny things make him go mad what happens with a mirror?
No point having a robot if you have to move the furniture to use it.
For this price I would at least expect an auto empty dock and obstacle avoidance.
Roborock are the best and totally unbeatable at any price range.
I'll stick with my Sebo
That’s got to be one of the dumbest robot vacuums I’ve ever seen. And I’ve been owning various models for over 10 years.
This gives technology a bad name.
But technus from Danny Phantom would have a orgasm
Even my 16 year old roomba 530 is better then this
That machine has a lot of issues..i have a shark matrix clean 2 n 1 self empty that preforms 1000 times better then that.
What a terrible machine.
yep
An anaemic little thing
No it is not it is worth it
@@lee-annebates903absolutely not. Had one and it’s stupid. For that price you get 20 times better robots from roborock or eufy
What a useless product, Dyson should be embarrassed to put their name to it. Do they not test them before selling??
Yeah... I guess Dyson uninvented the wheel
I swear a £20 robot vacuum from temu could do better than this £800 one!
Shame on you Dan
This is the worst robotic vacuum I've ever seen. What a piece of overpriced junk.
What rubbish!

For £1299 and it doesnt have object avoidance! good video on a piece of garbage
This model never cost that much. Perhaps you’re thinking of the latest Dyson robot.
