This is my favorite deckbuilding game, topping Shards of Infinity, Hero Realms, Star Realms, etc. Yes, part of this is the theme, but I really like the planet changes and the buying and attacking of the market row. I also upgraded the cubes with components from Hyperspace Props, which helps with the Star Wars feel.
Our thoughts are similar. It’s good, not great, but better than we had expected. With an expansion or two hopefully providing some more choice or paths for deck building different kinds of decks I think it could shine brighter.
This is a fantastic game. I love the fan made solo variant (Azuredeath). It is a very slick AI that feels just like an opponent. It great with 1 player and also 2 if you lucky to have another person to play with.

As someone who grew up with SW:CCG i think this could scratch that itch. I was pretty put off by some of the preview art at first but it looks like thats been cleaned up in the final print. FFG hasnt let me down yet, so im hopeful this game will fill out as more content is created.
I got this when it came out and got the sleeves as well. I like the game, sometimes it is frustrating when it seems like all of the buy options are for one player, or are all expensive. Agree with your thoughts on it!
I can totally see the Imperial Boba Fett as a balancing thing. Remember, during this era of SW, Boba Fett was very much a villain, directly aiding the Empire by hunting down Han and the heroes.
As far as no cross-buying of cards, I'm thinking of implementing a homebrew where you can, but cross-faction capital ships cost 2 more, and cross-faction characters cost 4 more (stealing a ship is easier than convincing a person to switch sides), just so you can see what would happen if Vader actually convinced Luke to join the dark side.
I actually respect fantasy flight for putting out a Star Wars card game that stands on its own as a game. I imagine it would have a place for my wife and I like 7 wonders duel, fun once every couple of months.

I don’t know, been burnt by Fantasy Flight games a few times before where I invested in a game and then its dropped. Think Netrunner and 40k conquest comes to mind. Glad some systems moved from FF to AMG 😊
I do not own Star Realms. For me SW Deckbuilding is good quick game to introduce someone to deckbuilding mechanism. Sure it is somewhat hampered by it's simplicity but it is very good because it is easy to play and learn.
Bought it, sleeved it, can’t wait for expansions for it😊

I enjoyed the game and I think that with expansions it will make it that much better with more options.

Can you sabotage/bounty hunt an enemy factions capital ship while they are on galaxy row?

So capital ships on Galaxy row can't be destroyed, but only purchased ?@@Crabbok

At that time Boba was a lapdog of the Empire, I understand the choice.

This game is fun and has a place on a shelf in your home. It's not the best starwars game out there, though.
