It’s so good to see you back on TH-cam. I just came across your channel again yesterday after being unsubscribed for 5 months. I didn’t think at the time that you would ever be back. I’ve had a lot of catching up to do 😂 thank you for sharing these videos. I always get so much enjoyment from watching them 🥰
In the mid 60’s my wonderful Dad owned a beautiful 64 Imperial Crown Coupe in metallic turquoise with black roof a the softest black leather interior. When the show came out on TV, my buddies came around every sat afternoon to check the car out. Three of my luckiest were picked by me to go for a ride to get ice cream.
Excellent video, but I will admit that this version of the Black Beauty is more updated in it's own right than the 60's TV show though but cool in its own right and two of them are still around, so good to go with that reality for sure.
Excellent work as always - thank you. But, like others have written, it was a little painful to hear how many were destroyed making this movie. I watched it once, haven't since. The original TV show pops up every now and then, if I have time, I always watch. You also make an excellent point on the affordability of an original Imperial. Quite a lot of car for the money. Take care ~ Chuck
Sin. They need to have fiberglass replicas of these old cars. Destroying them for a movie? Nope nuh nuh nope nope, nope nope! (Think shave and a haircut.) Shout out to my former and future hometown: Detroit, Michigan. Love this channel, thank you! ❤
The movie didn't seem to generate much interest when it came out. I actually find it a bit sad that they wasted some 20 original Imperials just so they could destroy them for what was ultimately a forgettable movie. They should have opted for fibreglass replicas for the destructive stunt scenes.
Wow! You knocked this one out quick when we all said yes please, that's impressive, thank you. I can't understand why the first owner didn't put a reserve on the auction, no way would you have got that off me for $29,700.....the new owner stole it!
This so cool, and sorry mister Carstarz if I seam to badger you with wishes, I know you have many in the pipeline, but I just want to remind you of one car I actually love that many hate that is an important famous car used on a tv-show that I would like to see. William Conrad's CANNON 1972 Lincoln Continental Mark IV. I hope you get to that one one day. If I have missed it that you already have done it, I beg your pardon, but I could't find it. Thanks again for these cool videos, currently I'm binge watching them.👍
The TH in th400, is Turbo Hydramatic, most commonly known as a Turbo400, or say a TH350, Turbo350 and so on. Just letting you know. The videos are awesome!
How about doing an episode on the "Ironside Paddy Wagon" ? What appears to be an Old Army Ambulance turned into his "Handicabable" Mobile Command Post.
@@LongIslandMopars Yeah, and the guy as Green Hornet (i don't want to say his name) is a boob but they're pushing that idiot on us. At least they were.
I bought several of the 1/87 scale cars at Carl's Jr. when the promotion was going on, but never did see the film. I could have sworn it was Jack in the Box, lol
The movie itself wasn't bad, and I actually like the movie Black Beauty a little better than the show version. However, I wish they used someone other than Seth. I find him quite annoying.
@@06maximaowner46 Yeah, had they not used crudy looking CGI to try to make him look like a superhuman or something and just stuck with real martial arts, the movie would have been much more tolerable and better in general 😉
The original Imperial made for the television program cost around $30,000 or $50,000 when it was built according the article in a published magazine. Either Car Craft or Motor Trend I believe.
I prefer the TV version. It's cleaner and more stealthy. The guns on the movie version are absurd and clearly have nowhere to retract. It's also heartbreaking seeing any classic car destroyed, but more so knowing so many Imperials were lost for a mediocre movie. They were the ultimate luxury car back in the day.
Yeah, maybe they got some kind of big discount rate from GM or something, but I get it, easier and cheaper part availability when needed fast and all I suppose.
If you mean regularly making content for this channel, indeed and have been for about a month or so now. However, the diecast channel is still idling as I don't have spare dough around for that kind of thing just yet. Still in a bit of a financial recovery mode, but getting there. Thanks 😉👍
'How many times we try stop your little heroics and somehow you keep showing up in that car' well the green hornet is has more money than skills but he got kado too 😅😅😅 i am surprised that you buddy did green hornet movie car as knowing this wasn't best film (the comedy was lame, the action scenes were good, the story wasn't all that interesting to say least or i put it almost too batman like 🤨) anyway thanks for the video carstraz and have a nice weekend bye now.
While the rest of of the car was cool, I think putting a Chevy motor on a Imperial is blasphemous!!!! They could've found plenty of big block Chrysler engines!!! But still liked the cars!!
Such a shame that twenty nine Imperials were damaged to make the movie, I don’t believe that all twenty nine were 1965’s, 1964 and 1966’s we’re probably used also.
It's kind of sad, so much effort went into these cars - and it was for a movie that was very middle of the road, ignored because it wasn't the MCU, and also released close to another Green superhero movie that wasn't very good. Kermit was telling the truth I guess.
As the owner of a 65 Crown Sedan, it really bugs me they used so many cars to make such a mediocre movie... also there was a really terrible slotcar version they made. I did a video on it some years ago but its pretty underwhelming, just like the modern movie.
they made two mistake on the Black Beauty. [1] using a GM engine, [2] using a Ford 9" rear axle. [1] Black Beauty being a 65 IMPERIAL they should have used a 572 Hemi V8 engine, [2] should have used a Dana 60 9.75" rear axle.

Fun fact the Chrysler Imperial is the only vehicle to ever be banned from demolition derbies.
Indeed, they are tough mofos for sure!
1983 was the year they banned from demolition derbies but sometimes I used to have Derbies just for Imperials
that shows how tough the IMPERIAL was.
Although the movie was pretty mediocre, that version of the Black Beauty has more presence than nearly any other modern movie car
True indeed 😉👍
I love the movie, and I agree about the presence the car has.
both the movie and the 60s TV show [the Green Hornet] used the 65 IMPERIAL.
@@MichaelBrown-yp1eq Actually the two on the show were '66 models, I made a video on that one too awhile back...

Why GM engine,a hellcat engine would be better
Well, they probably didn't have access to a time machine 😉
Let's look at this. Movie came out in 2011. First hellcat engine 2015. Guess they should have borrowed Doc Browns DeLorean...

Sad that they had to destroy so many beautiful cars for a turd of a movie starring Seth Rogan, the King of the Turds.

And now Seth Rogan went woke, so, in a sequel, the weaponry of the Black Beauty will be replaced with (not so) loudspeakers, playing relaxation music
