With all due respect, as a Plat II, this is not how ranked games go for me. Everyone (almost) has an understanding on aerials and will hit some pretty powerful shots.
As a plat, this is SO eye opening and helpful as I feel like I am one of those people who panic or over commit and I need to play WAY more passive! Keep up the awesome work!
To be honest, you’re still using way too much mechanics for the rank. The main indication of this is ball control. The average plat is very imprecise with their ground play and it doesn’t seem like you’re accounting for that. Perhaps this challenge would work better if you forced yourself to have no mechanics by playing on KBM
This is why I dislike Road to SSL w/ no mechanics series. They're always misleading because they have that high-level car control and game-sense that they themselves don't notice or mention, and when I try to take in what they do, my mechanics take a nosedive and I need to spend another few days building them back up. I highly recommend watching Yukeo's most recent Road to SSL series since I found his tips a lot more useful and he uses all kinds of mechanics, including advanced mechanics every once in a while, so you also get a good sense of when to use certain mechanics instead of limiting yourself in these "no mechanics" series just because they might not use a mechanic you normally rely on.

these goals are almost all so mechanical for gold and plat. jumping and boosting is SOO hit and miss at these ranks and so many of these are having a boost component it just doesn't happen until the top of plat and this is supposed to be w/o mechanics
I like the calm play that you do to actually perform best - playing smart and efficient . However as a plat there is a lot of things to learn, e.g. how to fifty fifty, drifts, turns etc. and i have a feeling you progress faster towards diamond if you really get your hands dirty, challenge, make a lot of mistakes to learn from rather than playing calm and smart, which trains the game sense, but not so much the mechanics.

The one thing I’ll say since you played golds in this is that at plat you really need to learn how to pre jump and when to push because some plays can dribble and flick and your not saving it unless you pre jump them and force it low for your teammate. Also need to learn when to push out from net when it’s in your corner or they might score
Tactic- play super passive and do zero mechanics so that don't match you against same ranks WITH mechanics = ez leveling up but not actually getting better
I am a plat and i think I’m decent for a plat, and the key is to learn easy mechanics that can be extremely useful, such as, wave dashing, and half flips
Generally in plat, you should not trust your teammates because everytime I decide to trust them, they miss and the opponents score, so play it safe, and when the ball is in your side, you should do a really hard clear
Plat here. I don't know, I used to half-flip in gold. It's a quite easy mechanic to pick up and I got consistent pretty fast. Sometimes I still mess it up, obviously. Slide recoveries are still an issue

I seen you went for in-net defending then moved right away for back posting. Not sure which was instinct, it seems like in-net defending was instinct then realized you needed to enforced back posting so you proceeded to back posting. Is back posting better than in-net defending? And is there ever a need to be at the front post, like if the opponent is playing close on that corner? Or is just better to still wait at the back post?

bounce dribbling won't work at low level, they charge you non stop that includes team mates they will hit the ball even if your in control taking your time or just in general they will take the balll from you team mates are horrible theyre your worst enemy lol

When someone makes these videos, you get decent team mate and low level players on other team. When you play there is higher chance to get worse team mate and other team happens to have like S2 diamond tournament winner (so propably much better now) and sometimes even champion tournament winner and you just get destroyed by them.

Consistency comes with hours, just keep playing to get more consistent, also understanding the purpose of what you are doing on the field will help a lot with consistency.
Genuinely wish i could play this well so im not useless to my friends. Got 60hrs and been enjoying every minute, friends are Diamond II+ with 600+ each so its quite a skill split playing in their games lol. And must have basic techniques that will really help me in their lobbies that i can start working on?

Once you get out of plat things get a little better, but it's a coin flip. The way placements go if you solo queue them you better not care about where you get placed.

Being stuck in plat means that you are bad at the game (not good enough to rank up), there is no other explanation for it.
None of the plays I play are like this the games are way faster and every shot is on target plus they are good at dribbling and air dribbling plats are actually good now adays.. especially dribble to air dribbles are tough to guard with bumps

I disagree on some advise. Oké now that I have your attention. I like the tip of not going in when your team mate is in front of you and also waiting for them to make mistakes. BUT you backed off out of wayyy to many challenges where you should be applying pressure. Maby in gold en low plat its not that big of a deal but in high Plat and diamond you gone need to get pressure on the ball to force them into making mistakes. (that's just my thoughts as a c1/C2)
Yeah but this is about how little you actually have to do in gold/plat/diamond vs what people think you need to do. I'm champ and the only thing that's a named move that I can do is a half flip. Decision making alone can get you to champ imo.

From what I've heard the coaching is not free but there are other SSL's the provide free coaching of sorts

The mmr system and matchmaking doesn’t take mechanics into account. It counts wins/losses shots saves and goals.

To be honest defending in-net is fine in plat but it’s better to do back post defense especially in diamond and above

What I noticed is that even the rank themselves differ from one region to another. So far EU has the strongest plats and diamonds I've ever seen
