Luke makes the same list video plus or minus a few points each video but every time I watch I’m reminded of what I need to do to be better. Keep making this same video Luke. I needs it,
All very good valid points...definitely noticed and started working the fly through the ball and to be more patient instead of going for the middle field aerials every time. Good stuff man like the pointers.
Funnny when you were talking about only going for free centers, I learned this quickly when I queued up ranked with my champ buddy, and I’m a gold, there was no center I could hit 😂 and I ended up being scared of the ball
Everytime I'm patient when the ball is in the corner my opponent puts a great shot on net. I'm barely a D1 amd this is consistent. The one thing I've learned is that you never flip in your corner. You can commit to it as long as you knkw you're teammate is sticking back post, but never over commit or slam the ball into the wall (soft touches are your best friend). Your teammate can roll through whenever you are rotating back post, or when the ball gets put into a dangerous position, but it is always your job to rotate to back post as soon as your teammate is going, unless you know for a fact your teammate has it, and if your solo queuing then you just assume they don't have it and rotate back post (if you're low rank)
All decent advice but I have to say that the patient part isn’t working for you because you probably creep out of net. Be patient from behind the goal line, not in front of it. Maybe watch your replays and even make yourself a training pack to practice saving those tight angles when they shoot. Another tip on top of that, unbind boost and try doing it.
@@jbone6979 But if my teammate is already back post then where else would I be other than to get in position to challenge or up in their face challenging, or rotating back post myself because i got out of position while challenging or messed up my challenge and now the net is open for a shot. I have a buddy I always play with and I think he's a little too stuck on sticking back post because I can never get him off of it, even when I'm rotating back post. It causes confusion because he NEVER commits to the corner. I don't necessarily think that's the right answer. It doesn't matter who is covering back post as long as somebody is, and then the other person should most definitely be challenging. Regardless someone should ALWAYS be challenging. What's the point in giving the other team space? Not all players are bad, and one thing I've learned is that you should treat all opponents like they know what they are doing (at least at my level).
@@peacemaker4829 Ultimately, the game is situational and without seeing a replay, this might not be the help you need in certain situations. Some situations may require corner challenges. But get in your net behind the goal line closer to front post. You more than likely don’t need to close space in the corner like you think you do. You need to cover your net and cover the back wall/corner passes (and doomsy dishes from the smurfs) Tell your buddy to do the same and stop leap frogging him. Awful habit that completely screws your team more times than not. Start getting on the back wall too if the ball is already or about to be higher. On your way back to goal, tell him before you get there that he needs to cover the front post spot so you can take his back post spot. If you guys are just sitting there and waiting for more than a second, you’re most likely getting back too quick, probably with less boost than you could have because you’re well, back too quick instead of getting small/big boosts. Wider turns coming back and arriving at your goal right before it could potentially be shot is key. Getting there beforehand just to be “fast” will screw you over causing that type of confusion I assume you’re talking about. Giving opponents less space is good, but doing things like this to create space for you is just as good. If you do this correctly, you’re going to see a ton of full field wide open net opportunities.
When I have space and get the ball on top of my car or keep it in front of me to ground dribble and my teammate either bumps into me, takes the ball infront or even from the top of my car I just dont wanna play anymore I'll gladly forfeit Ik I'm toxic but I cant play with a player as braindead as that
I'm Diamond in 2s and almost in 3s as well. I still haven't noticed how are half flip kick-offs any better than just driving to the ball. I just drive to the ball and I can say my kick-off results are above average. Speed flips are of course hard to go against but they are pretty rare in those levels.
I see people flipping all crazy and I usually beat them anyway. Some I can't, but then I just time my front flip and get them anyway or I go for the second touch.
As soon as I get one negative or sarcastic comment from a teammate I leave the match..I’ll even leave If I get a take the shot comment..I never send comments to teammates unless positive..I won’t send any comments to the other team during ranked..why fuel the opposition..now casual, sending positive comments teamates and the other team seems ok
@@troypulfer3950 Now this is just stupid to be completely honest. If you are willing to forfeit a game because of something like that you shouldn't play ranked
@@fatmccat1513 sorry, doesn’t change my opinion..I feel it’s stupid to quick chat negative, sarcastic comments..never good for anyone..if you disagree, I feel, it’s because you’ve got a lot to learn in this life of ours..
Yeah i played d3 in 3s. There was champ tournament winner. I said to him that your rotation was so bad, committing all the ball even when he have to be on goal. But when i did it, i make us win that game. Because rotations and saves. Diamonds and champs they really need to play 1s. To become more confident on defence. And that same dude blame me because i lost kickoff and he miss really easy shot because committing on attack and didnt stay near post wait for the shot :D
I've been practicing air dribbles for the past week or so since I seen your video teaching a plat. I'm not great but since practicing that I've noticed my ball control and judgement going for balls in the air have improved significantly. I'd say in the next few months I'll probably make diamond.
The only time I say anything to my teammate is when they are constantly coming over my back when it's my read, and I just tell them "all yours" and I back off
Luke is a good coach because he’s not like a normal rocket league TH-cam tutorial normal people would just show you how to do the mechanic or the mistake and leave you to improve yourself but Luke gives extra details and helps you improve on the journey
I need help. I seem to double jump too much in defense, but I wonder when to double jump on defense and when to flip into the ball. I see pros flip into it soo much, but it doesn't usually work when I do it myself
Ego associated with looking good mechanically is the biggest ball and chain for most players. I find that most players aren't into nor watch or play team sports. Their vision is limited to what they can pull off singularly. The passing, the oppositions positioning as well as their own team mates, both sides of boost management and looking ahead a few seconds is missing from a lot of players, even higher up the ranks. But because the majority share this same flaw, many players can grind up to Champ at least with fast mechanics as they come up against similar minded opponents. But if someone is constantly blaming their team mates, then its likely because they rely on mechanics and their team mates cleaning up their mistakes. That's how I see it in my experience.
I swear I'm that crazy person I enjoy solo que, I enjoy the challenge of trying to carry, I try to bring positivity into my games. Probably from years of toxic kids on league of legends
