    You can't stop the slider bearings from breaking eventually. They will always need to be replaced. However, they don't need to be replaced if they are intact enough. You know they need replacing once you start getting micro vibrations on acceleration or braking (this happens when the bearing rollers are not fit snuggly due to being broken/worn down which allows the slider assembly to rotate on it's axis a tiny bit which confuses the IMU on the motherboard.

    Good review Adam, at 2100 miles my only minor complaint is range. It dropped a bit with the Shinko 244 but still having great luck in general.

      Doesn't make any sense why they would switch from the 150V that should take the voltage. Then again Adam has put this wheel through 1000km of hell and I'm sure plenty of plenty of big regen near full battery, so maybe these 125V rated chips are more durable than the rating would suggest?
      We'd expect a lot of failures like the V12 that can be spin test induced if the mosfets were weak, which I don't think we're seeing.

    Bro ima be honest, ks s22 is not good for long term use, we have sold about 15 ks s22 and they have all return back all kinds of issues literaly all, motherboard failtures alot with tilt back wont let u ride and also spontanius cutouts people getting hurt, water damage motherboard, rollers braking, rear and front and internal screws braking, front bumper, stripped bolts and screws, if u pull handle too far it snaps off front internal... Ohh broo.. and the list goes on. To me who ever uses it for jumping stuff its just going to break it sooner and constantly repairing it, do not use anywheres near water. However ks s22 pro so far no problems for us.

      This is only part of the story, we could go on for days about this awful wheel. Probably worse of all time. I was one of the first to receive one from eevees first batch. It has spent more time in pieces than riding. Currently 5k km and I have to check screws daily. Suspension linkage is a f'ing joke. Don't worry all this is going to be the s19 too, clearly this is a company that understands what they are doing 😂 the suspension linkage is assembled using furniture fixings, they are not up to the task. And the linkage is so well designed it loosens the cabinetry fixings.
      The truth is the people that send these on jumps don't talk about the maintenance and repair involved. I no longer jump or trail mine, it's a hot piece of trash.
      This is an exciting time for this tech, but I feel we are a few years from them being more mainstream and reliable. If I knew the kingsong s22 was a money sink hunk of shit I would have waited a few years or buy something else. I'm on my 3rd motor and it squeaks and bearings knock.

      I know it's anecdotal. But I have an unpinned model S22 with custom sliders.
      Bearings are a problem and they need continuous changing.
      I changed the motor out to the 4000w one but never had any stator slip issues on my original after 1100 miles.
      I do jumping on my wheel, so it's taken a lot of bearings and besides scratched suspension arms and cracked (not shattered) front handle I have had no issues.
      Wait. One issue, the lift switch detector isn't aligned properly so it too easily stops the motor when you stop. I have it disabled due to this and enable it when needed with a shortcut on EUC World.
      Right now, the S22 still serves a niche for people that want a lighter good suspension travel wheel for off-road. But it has many short comings.
      The Before Extreme if it's half decent should replace the S22 in this category when it comes out though.

  • @mr_wrongway
    @mr_wrongway  ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Update! I made a mistake on the MOS of the S22 (non-pro) - those were using SH1504A MOS which were up to 150V. The ones used in the S22 Pro are up to 125V which makes them go over their working voltage.
    EDIT: as far as it goes for tests they might be more durable but who knows in the long run.
    2nd note:
    - in order to make a s22 pro out of your s22 you’d need to change both motor and motherboard (or somehow mod the s22 board software to have s22 pro software)

    • @EkoKolo_Katowice

      burned mottherboards season starts now . or one phase is driven by a parin of mosfets so there is no problem . voltage splits in half . but if no ... thats a huge mistake .

    • @timwatterson8060
      @timwatterson8060 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The funny thing is even if they had a 130v rating it would be too low, mosfets in this application are not rated by the battery voltage but the back emf the motor is likely to produce with the escs' control settings. The back emf during regen etc can reach 120% of the battery voltage, some escs can clamp it better or worse but this is not even close to being safe here.

    • @fishndive1961
      @fishndive1961 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@timwatterson8060126v is the saturation voltage of 4.2v per cell. There is no way that the BMS would allow 20% more voltage back into the battery. That would be a severe fire hazard. The voltage rating of these FETS is marginal and 150v FETS would be preferable all the same.

    • @timwatterson8060
      @timwatterson8060 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fishndive1961 the wheel can supply that voltage regardless of whether the batteries can take it. Yes the mosfets should be off to not pass it to the batteries but that does not stop it from damaging the mosfets.

      @@zboot On the wiring and circuit board side of things, they would be Class 3 requirements from the various IPC standards. Our factory does all 3 classes depending on customer requirements. I expect EUCs would be Class 2 which "includes products where continued performance and extended life is required, and for which uninterrupted service is desired but not critical. Typically, the end-use environment would not cause failures." Unfortunately, while Chinese companies know about the IPC standards and employees get IPC certification, the standard used tends to get ignored thereafter. That was the experience of my first IPC trainer.

      @zboot ปีที่แล้ว

      @WalrusHal IPC covers a lot of things, so which standard are you referring to? And they are descriptive, not proscriptive. So either your regulatory body sets a requirement, or you, as the manufacturer, choose to build your product to a specific standard and class because that's necessary to achieve behavior/specs that you are claiming.
      So, what's the standard that you're saying should cover EUCs that would be applicable? Or, got a link to a military spec that would apply here?

      Many true criticisms but this isn't really an issue.
      I ride off-road in dry and wet conditions. When I took my sliders out to change bearings last they were not caked in mud.
      I do spray a medium pressure water jet down the tubes though every few months.
      This is more of a nice to have. It's not a real problem unless your constantly wading through wet mud.
