  • You're going to learn some pretty cool black metal guitar techniques in this video! It's a simple riff, but the methods you'll be using do make it more challenging!
    This is my first black metal guitar riff lesson. Or perhaps it's more of an exercise for you to practice that a lesson. But you get the point.
    For some reason, this style is coming out more naturally in my playing since I've had my 7 string guitar. There's just a different sound, vibe, and feel to it.
    Hope you enjoy this!!
    Keep it Metal,
    Jason

      Doing the tabs that way mirrors the fret board, I usually write out tabs that way, it works for me, also I have a friend who is a left hand guitarist, when I practiced with him it was easy to follow him along the fret board ( I hope that made sense) 🎸🍻

    Also do a backward power chord for the melodic black metal stuff!

    Great video! But I have a question, what's the tuning of all 7 strings in this video? Cheers

  • @MyBichSustained
    @MyBichSustained 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Try this when doing black metal....take the power chord and tremolo pick the power chords and don't mute strings.Enjoy!

      @@jasonstallworth Have you ever wrote songs in the harmonic minor scale?

  • @cryptic3420
    @cryptic3420 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wait. I can actually distinguish the notes being played?? Not trve kvlt. Great lesson though!

    • @jasonstallworth
      @jasonstallworth  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dude...this is the best thing you could've said! There are so many extreme death and black metal bands that it's difficult to actually hear the notes being played

    • @cryptic3420
      @cryptic3420 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jason Stallworth there are always those bands that have that strange lo-fi type of sound that sounds similar to a swarm of buzzing bees. I guess bands like Burzum, Entombed and Dismember used that sound a lot.
