This video talks about some of the things I'm learning from being stuck in liminal spaces. Being stuck between homes, relationships, friendships and creative projects is teaching me to let go of control, be kinder to myself and take the opporunities fresh starts offer us to tweak ourselves into a better human beings through honest introspection.

I got to say. I don’t come here for photography tips. I come here to be encouraged, and strengthened; determined to push through whatever I may be going through each day and continue to do what I love. I existential depression is no joke and I know that
Picking up my camera will help me 1000%. I watch these videos to feel better about not wanting to pick my camera up

Don't know you man but I personally know the state of being when facing seemingly unanswerable existential questions. And I know this one thing, life is worth living because if the good news of Jesus is true one thing it means is that Creator has not abandoned us and he's not abandoned you. Wish you all the motivation you need to capture the gift of life with your camera

@@kristogirma8319 No offense man, i know you mean well... but i wish religious people would stop instantly bringing their god into practically everything. You don't see agnostics and atheists including their views on god and religion in every possible occasion...

@@DobromirManchev I use to feel the way you do...but then I had to ask myself...why am I so put out when someone who believes is just sharing a positive message about it? What am I afraid of when someone mentions Jesus Christ, God or religion etc? I now try to follow this rule...I respect anyone trying to bring a positive message into the world, even if it doesn't perfectly align with my belief system. We're all just trying to find our way in this f'd up world and if Jesus Christ is what Kristo needs to be better and be a good person...I'm OK with that. Be well! Benjamin

@@DobromirManchev why? Why do atheists bring it up? The metaphysical question of theism? As one myself sometimes just accept that the religious believe and i probably cant change that. As a humanist and pluralist i accept that often this is the way a person expresses support and warmth, essentially more important/valuable things in life than asking "does god exist"
So why be surprised that God is used to express something? Most the world is religious. The unfalsifiable question of existence is getting boring, and often isnt really the point in whats saidm

Please know that not only you will be grateful for this rough patch, your life will be greater, and you'll live a happier life from all the learnings and growth from all this.

Just two things that crossed my mind when I watched your video (as indeed most of your videos): First, if your former employer, the Church, had the slightest inkling of how touching and convincing a speaker (they call it preacher, I guess) they have lost, they should be genuinely shocked. But then again, arguably, they don't deserve talent like you. Second, how can someone so much younger than me be so much wiser and more eloquent about life (and photography, which I've dabbled with for 37 years), which makes watching your videos almost a humbling experience. But, you know what, at the same time it's also uplifting and helps to restore one's faith in and appreciation of people and the power and beauty of the human spirit.

One thing I have learnt is that you cannot judge the sum of a situation as good or bad until possibly even years down the line. A very unpleasant situation in my teens led to me discovering a sport that later became a passion and brought me deep and lasting friendships that endure to this day, and things experienced when my father was dying from cancer later gave me the strength and wisdom to help a good friend in a similar position.

Feelings that come along with fear can be re-cast as feelings of excitement. Being stuck inbetween can be-cast as being free. You are at a great time in your life, a time when you are free to explore new projects, places and relationships. Embrace it. (OK, almost always easier said than done, but worth saying.)

The opening videos are amazing. Framed like photographs, beginning in stillness, coming to life. Mysterious. Magical. ... Embracing the liminal. Every moment in our lives holds the seeds of new beginnings. Every moment is also the falling apart of what was. How I cling to the known, shy away from the unknown... Except... except when I am as fully in the present moment as I can be, when time stops, when the mind shifts into a mode of curiosity and wonder. The stories matter less. The heart break shifts to a tenderness of emotion, beyond the story line - being human - alive, breathing, seeing, feeling. A place where art happens. ... Thank you for taking me there with you.

It can take a while to get back to the surface, but when you do, the air may not be sweeter, but different and you learn to breathe a different way. The roadblocks don’t stop you for long and you’ll learn to see them in a different way. Be patient and you will settle into the next stage of your life. I know, as I’ve experienced a similar situation. Stay strong and don’t rush things

Good point about liminal space Sean. I'm 62 now and can clearly see how every time of great difficulty and unwanted change in my life has led me to somewhere very positive that I would never have arrived otherwise and, looking back, I'm happy that they happened. We have many potential lives and they'll all include both great and good things. Changes and challenges are opportunities for adventure, learning and growth. Just had a similar experience also in April. I received no alarming phone call on the M1 and can appreciate how that must have felt. I swung left onto the M6 and am now in walking distance of “another place”. Anthony Gormley placed his hundred iron men here, due to the light, from a shortlist of spots along the Atlantic coast of Europe. It’s “where the light gets in”. You could find that light on one of your long drives. Get onto to A59 west and keep going until you arrive. ND filters useful. Good luck with the new start.
