I really love the moveset ideas that instead of making Louie a echo, they make him a character that revolves around using bugs. They both seem like they would be incredibly creative and fun movesets use. I hope if Louie is added it's something along those lines instead of him just being a echo fighter.
I think it makes more sense for him to be an Echo Fighter though, considering he literally IS just a slightly altered copy of Olimar for the sake of having a second captain.
(But yeah the bug moveset is pretty cool too)

You know what I would love to see as Louie's final smash unlike the scornet mystro? I would love to see Louie summon the Titan Dwevel and he's riding it. So for example (If using GameCube controls) If I press B he uses the flare cannon or if I press A he uses the Monster Pump
I've always had this idea that Louie would technically be a fighter, but when you play as him, you don't actually control him or any pikmin for his attacks and instead each of the attacks is a different creature showing up to defend their king while he just stands around. He'd be completely different from Olimar and represent the "antagonist" of Pikmin, which is really just the wildlife and harsh environments.
Louie should ride the Titan Dweevil. Please... I don't need another echo. Just give him the attacks from the Titan Dweevil fight, and he can be a great ORIGINAL character. Just my opinion.

Instead of using Olimar's final smash, I would like to see Louie summon the Titan dweevil, go into the background, and have each button use a different treasure
A button: Flare Cannon (small fire pillar)
B button: Comedy Bomb (inverts other players controls)
X button: Monster Pump (five damaging bubbles)
Y button: Shock Therapist (dazes other fighters)
If Louie gets in, they should make Brittney his alternate costume, like olimar and Alph

Here's an idea I came up with...
So, a few of the Echo Fighters (mainly Lucina and Chrom) are the same as their original but with more balanced hitboxes that simplify their playstyle and remove the higher skill-based gameplay. I personally think Louie should be an echo fighter of Olimar with the same general concept, using PikPik carrots instead of Pikmin for all his attacks.
The PikPik carrots would standardize all his moves, instead of having each Pikmin type having varied strengths and weaknesses. When thrown they would simply collide with the opponent and break, dealing damaged and very minor knockback instead of latching on like the Pikmin. For some attacks, he would of course need slightly different animations and such, mainly his Smash attacks where the Captain commands them instead of swinging them like a bludgeon. Lastly, he would have different grabs/throws than Olimar, because PikPik carrots don't have hands and aren't alive. (The PikPik carrots would either float around behind Louie, or there would be some kind of counter on the UI at the bottom of the screen to show Louie's carrot count, with a max of 3 or maybe 6).
For his up special he could maybe use the Jetpack from Hey Pikmin or something.
Oh, and of course he could have the President as some of his alt costumes. :P

If he doesn't get in, make him an assist trophy with the same moves as Olimar. Just like Knuckles and Sonic
His final smash should be the titan dewevil
Maybe there could be a stage like the last sublevel in the Dream Den, and the Titan Dweevil could wake and use one of his weapons.
The Flare Cannon could do fire damage on the ground, sweeping fire
The Monster Pump could cause Drops of water to fall onto stage vertically, popping when touching a platform or the ground
The Shock Therapist could disperse anywhere on the stage and zap anything in the area they take up
The Comedy Bomb could... idk
And later on in the stage, when it takes too much time,
The Flare Cannon could be larger and longer
The Monster Pump would make larger and more droplets fall
The Shock Therapist could disperse more and shock for longer
and The Comedy Bomb would... do more stuff.

If I could share a thought about amiibo for a second, I'd say I really like the yarn yoshi amiibo, so I'm hoping we'll see more yarn amiibo in the future. Specifically, i'd be ecstatic to see a woolly Olimar amiibo that comes with little yarn pikmin, even if the game they're for isn't yarn themed. As for functions, a good use for amiibo in pikmin, would be to act as real world onions that store virtual pikmin, allowing you to transfer and trade pikmin across profiles, and maybe even games. (It would be nice to have a good use for all those guys in the pikmin park) and what if the amiibo also unlocked a new gamemode where you garden pikmin and roam the map at your leisure? Then you would have a good place to raise pikmin to store in your amiibo! And I think there should be a cap on the number of pikmin in one amiibo, maybe 30. What do you think of those ideas?
What I was kind of thinking was maybe making Olimar have alternate skins for Louie and the President, and then having Alph as an echo fighter with Brittany and Charlie as his alternate skins. Alph has the rock Pikmin instead of purple and maybe can utilize the winged Pikmin instead of white? To add further difference maybe Olimar now has his jet pack from Hey Pikmin as a recovery and Alph has the winged Pikmin. I’d love to see an echo fighter from Olimar but I’m not sure they would choose Louie since in game they play so similarly and use the same Pikmin. It makes more sense to me that Alph would become an echo fighter

Louie pikmin taunt idea: He imagines a random 1 out of 3 dishes from Pikmin 2 in a bubble
I want all the captains in every pikmin game to be costumes or echos of olimar
(For these ideas I will keep stuff like the pikmin types)
Louie ideas
Opening animation:Louie will be carried down by some scornets and then plucks pikmin
Jab:will start with a pikmin throw it will be a single (elemental) attack
Side tilt:a small pikmin will rush forward
Up tilt:a scornet will quickly attack upwards
Down tilt:Louie will swing a pikmin at his legs
Side smash:same as olimar. He will send the first pikmin in his team for a strong bash.
Down smash:Louie will accidentally drop a bomb and start too panic by running around in circles during the charge. When you release the smash attack he will have the classic cartoon explosion effect just like when you charge diddy’s peanut gun to long.
Up smash:he will grab the stem of the first pikmin in the line and will swing it up with lots of force.
His up special could be the scornet maestro using the bees to lift him
a own character would be even cooler that moveset would be more with the bosses and a final smash with the final bosses of all 3 games
I always was thinking of Louie for smash since smash 4 maybe his final smash could be the final boss off pikmin 2 and he could use bulbmin and rock and wing pikmin

I LOVE Louie, in fact, he's my favorite Pikmin character, and I'd love to see him in Smash! Of course, I always thought of him being an echo of Olimar but heavier and slightly more powerful, but these ideas are very clever! The idea of him being a more stand-alone character unlike Olimar to represent how he survives without the Pikmin is also incredible! That actually made me think what if Louie revolved all around attacking himself, while having Pikmin only as his specials and smash attacks? I also love using the PikPik carrots to replace Pikmin in various moves, I never thought Louie would get so much support, and that makes me happy! If Louie ever gets in he would surely be an echo, and I'd expect him to have a Brittany alt (cause you know, alph and olimar, louie and brittany, eeeeeeeeeh), but this would make Pikmin's representation a bit...odd. The best echo choice was Alph, he could very well represent Pikmin 3 at its finest, using Pikmin 3 and perhaps other unique moves, and when I say odd, I mean it: having Alph, Olimar, Louie and Brittany while leaving The President, or more specifically, Captain Charlie, would be a weird choice in my opinion... Captain Charlie is far more important than The President when we talk about his crew, and leaving him out there, and not having a President costume would be too odd in my opinion... Now that I think about it though, if Louie gets to be more of an unique character (without being related to his King of Bugs style) I could actually see The President/Captain Charlie work as a Louie echo, The President is Louie's replacement in the second part of Pikmin 2 after all! I really WISH Louie makes a playable appearance, and I'd be SUPER HAPPY to see every Captain appear!

I know he's basically confirmed as an alt but I think it would've been cool to have Alph ONLY use rock pikmin which in smash would be a purely balanced pikmin type that can't latch onto opponents, you don't even need to change anything about Alph to make him unique then.
Purple Pikmin in Smash don't latch on opponantes already but I would appreciate the change to rock Pikmin for Alph aswell :)
If they did that, then they could change the direction of the knock-back from Rock Pikmin and make him an echo fighter.
I like the idea of him using the wildlife of PNF-404 more than the idea of an echo fighter. For ref...
Old idea of mine was to have him ride a Bulborb (acting like Bowser Jr's cart, would vanish in special attacks and FS), but I prefer a "normal" version where he just uses the Plasm Wraith goop to summon.
NB- Bulborb Chomp; an action grab that functions like Wario's. Maybe can lead into Louie dismountaing and attacking while Bulborb chomps away?
SB- Blowhog Flare; a Fiery Blowhog is summoned, and after a brief delay, shoots forth a geyser of flame that does about 40% if all hits connect. Think Bowser's Fire Breath.
DB- Wollywog Slam; Think Yoshi's DB, but with a longer delay, harder hit (spikes), and jumps twice (the second jump following the closest target).
UB- Puffy Blowhog Rise; a Puffy Blowhog appears under him, rising him fairly fast. It will pop if any part sans the top is hit (the top will hit the foe repeatedly, until attack is over). Does similar vertical recovery as Aether or Dolphin Slash.
FS- Titan Dweevil; the famous boss of Pikmin 2 digs itself out of the ground and appears under Louie. It will use one of four attacks with the special attacks, and moves where Louie directs (will SD Louie if led offstage).
NB becomes Laughing Bomb, a slow moving AOE attack that does hefty damage if you are caught under the TD.
SB becomes Flare Cannon, which is like normal SB om steroids and with no cooldown.
UB becomes Monster Pump, a rapid fire projectile that is controlled like Yoshi's Eggs.
DB becomes Shock Therapist, projecting a series of beads which eventually conduct a current and does crazy damage.
All of his attacks in this state have heavy endlag, and the Titan Dweevil can be KOd, which ends the FS immediately.
It should be noted that in normal form, all of his attacks are disjoints. NB, SB, and DB are independently controlled by a simple AI, so you may set them up and go alongside them. Think that every one of his specials is like Zelda's Phantoms, where she can move even when it is moving. This seems broken, but there is drawbacks- first, one disappearing (via repeated attacking or just by passing a certain amount of time) will result in it being unusable for some time.
So, if TL;DR, I'll summarize it up
Think Robin's Durability mechanic but simplified (his tilts, smash attacks, and aerials would likely involve minor enemy usage or just Louie using his body). Every one of his special attacks is a disjoint, a living entity that performs a simple action free of interaction; however, it takes time to summon them after being used, and they can be destroyed easily.
What you all think?
How about for Louie’s final smash, we have him ride the titan dweevil into the battlefield and use it’s four treasures to really “bug” his opponents. This is shown at 11:38, and I think it would be pretty awesome. The scornet maestro would be pretty neat too, as you suggested Dazz.
I think he should use all the same pikmin as Olimar, but be heavier, hit harder, maybe faster on the ground, and throws his pikmin less accurate since he isn't as good at controlling pikmin.
Maybe his dash attack is him running then exploding?
Also Final smash can be the Tital Dweevil.

note: i think that they could incorporate the time limit for pikmin as well, when activating the final smash, louie jumps off screen and reappears on the titan dweevil, then the words fire, water, electricity, and poison. then the day bar would slide up from the bottom and starts. (side note, if a smash is not activated, then the titan dweevil will shake off louie while he starts panicking)(side note 2, the timer will be about 5 seconds)

Note: if louie chose "fire" then the flamethrower comes out and spits out fire, louie can aim this
if louie chose "water " then a stream of water comes out of a faucet, the water flows, and can push opponents off stage
if he chose "electricity" then louie can chose 4 locations for electric balls which then connects up. ( if any foe hit by it they get "shocked" (put to sleep and small flinching damage) )
if he chose "poison" then the dweevil will rise a gas tank to the center of the stage and, based on controller input, will make different patterns of poisonous gas come out, any foe hit by the poison will get "poisoned"(the flower effect) for 10 seconds
any smash would last 20 seconds
I have a feeling that if he was added he would be an alternate skin. Or they could add Brittany Charlie or the President

Up smash: jumping chaotically like in the end scene for Pikmin 3
Down smash: pluck a rock Pikmin but fall to the left and the rock falls to the right or reverse if you face the other way
Neutral 1 pluck pikmin (rock pikmin wing pikmin and blubmin)
Neutral 2 small jump headbutt
Side 1 throw Pikmin or if none accidentally punch as if to grab a pikmin
Side 2 larger headbutt
Dash attack play dead (he sides for a little)
Get up swooping snitch bug (it trys to get Louie as he gets up but hits targets)
Taunts drooling, playing with bugs and yelling food
Final smash Louie runs from all the enemies in Pikmin hitting targets at the end jumps to the titan dewvil hitting targets with all his treasures (and they fall off at the end)
One good thing that Louie did, is that Hocatatians are not as picky eaters as Koppaites!

A taunt for Louie could be his pikmin singing a no Uta then he claps..slowly
That pose with pikmin just reminded me so much of captain ginyu which would be such a good taunt

If he were an echo fighter something I would do is make his down special make him pass out and the pikmin go up to him to try and carry him but instead wake him up. This type of move would resemble how Olimars down special/whistle call all the pikmin to him.
I always felt Olimars different costumes could be the different captains kind of like how Bowser Jr. is with the Koopalings.

This is actually an awesome moveset for Louie to have since Olimar uses friendly Pikmin for attacking and for Louie, he uses Pikmin enemy's for his moveset.
Pikmin is so poorly represented in Smash...what a shame...
I strongly think that louie could be ether a skin of a echo fighter
HE NEEDS TO BE THE KING OF BUGS... all of his attacks could be some of the enemies that are in pikmin two. His Grab could have a dweevel that comes out of his backpack to grab, he would have bulbin or not have pikmin at all! his side smash could be something like zeldas or duckhunt dog where he spawns enemies and bugs from pikmin, bulborbs, or whatever. His up b could be the bumbling snitchbug flying him up for a short while and then throwing him down super hard and fast.
All of his attacks could be a cool showcase of the enemies in pikmin! them being so interesting and giving the game so much life, plus him being the king of bugs would be the best way to get that across. His final smash obvioulsy would have to be the titan dweevel digging up from the ground and shooting water fire poison and electricity all over the stange at once! This would be super cool.. I'm thinking he would be just as micromanaging as olimar but with all the enemies he would have to try and position and control, like a how king dee dee dee has to use his spiky guy (can't remember the name) Really creatively into his combos if he wants to kick some Ass!!!

Maybe Olimar can use his Jet Pack from Hey! Pikmin instead of the Wing Pikmin, where Louie uses them. And maybe Olimar could use only Red, Blue, and Yellow Pikmin, and Louie could use only Rock, White, and Purple Pikmin. Both could use Bulbmin but oh well. His Final Smash could be the Titan Dweevil from Pikmin 2

Finally someone brings this up. Everybody keeps talking about all echo fighter ideas BESIDES a Pikmin one. I would actually love to see a Pikmin echo fighter, but even if they don't add one, I'd still be happy with how the game turns out. It would be cool if they added a Pikmin 3 character and Pikmin 2 character as an alternate character, such as Charlie and the President, or Brittany and Louie.

Seeming as Echo Fighters can have different final smash, I think the Titan Dwevel could work for him.
What if Louie could utilize the enemies from pikmin in his mindset like the dwarf bulborb as a side SMASH or the bumbling snitchbug as an up special
If the titan dweevil was his final smash the titan dweevil could use the fire cannon,comedy bomb,monster pump,,shock therapist and the others

Considering Pikmin has 4 games, a 5th on the way, and the only series to have a set of official Nintendo released short movies I think we deserve Louie, it would be cool to have Brittany as an alt. As a push the president could be another character with Charlie as an alt, then BOOM all playable characters from Pokemon in smash. But as a joke character I’d love bulborb to be in smash

what i was thinking was pretty close to this idea. But it would be nice if Louie and Brittany were part of the costume feature, and then make them have echo fighters. Those echo fighters being The President (Pikmin 2) and Charlie (Pikmin 3)
I think it would be more interesting if his gameplay design had something to do with the Titan Dweevil at the end of pikmin
