Io da quando ho coltivato la mia innata predilezione per il canto rinascimentale e barocco, difficilmente riesco ad apprezzare una tale esecuzione. Mentre queste voci all'Opera le ascolto e le apprezzo, abbinate a questo meraviglioso repertorio hanno un che di circense, tolgono davvero la finezza e l'intimità

Exelente mezza-voce y pianissimos por parte de la soprano y fantástica la mezzo-contralto. Al fin una version de gente que sabe cantar, apoya, coloca, deja las cuerdas vibrar con el pasar del aire. Eso es cantar sin lastimarse cantando liso y sin vibrato con la laringe trabada, pocas notas en el registro y pocos armónicos.

what a haunting piece. and poor Pergolesi, his stabat mater was the most published piece of the 18th century, and the man died penniless of tuberculosis at the age of only 24.

This remains to be my favourite rendition of all those I've ever heard. It's ethereal, both mezzo soprano and soprano are divine.
They just lost the correct music nowadays.
Bravo! We lost Lucia to leukemia in 1998. She was one of the leading contemporary Italian coloratura mezzos, she had a rich, creamy and agile voice.
