    I would recommend doing forward knots when knotting the chevron. Backward knots tend to make the hearts uneven while forward knots keep the heart nice and even.

    Decided to make one of these and didn’t think I would do so well because of how hard of a time I had learning the chevron pattern. But it was actually insanely easy, and I saw a heart after the first time! Thank you!!

    Sorry, I should have said to only cut 4 strings, because folded in half, that would be 8 total. You're correct -- 6 strings total would be a thinner bracelet.

    I seem to have a problem with the sides curling up towards each other. Is there a way to keep the bracelet flat?

    • @simpleDIYs
      @simpleDIYs  10 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Is this happening after you're done with the whole bracelet? If so, I'd flatten it out with a book. If this is happening as you're tying the knots, you might be tightening your knots too tightly. Just tighten until the knot is secure without pulling so hard that it curls up.

    If you want to do a button closure, you have to fold the strings in half (to form the loop) so double the measurements I provided in the down bar (but only cut 3 strings -- because folded in half, that's 6 strings total). Hope that made sense!

    Can I double this friendship bracelet with 16 strings?

    • @simpleDIYs
      @simpleDIYs  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you’re looking to double up and use 16 strings, I’d recommend pattern 28864 on BraceletBook - www.braceletbook.com/patterns/normal/28864/ Hope that helps!

  • @simpleDIYs
    @simpleDIYs  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hmm... is it fraying as you're making the bracelet? It might be the brand you're using. I'd suggest wrapping a small piece of tape around the end of each piece of floss (b/c I'm assuming it's the end that starts fraying first) so that you don't worry about fraying as you make the bracelet. When you're done with the bracelet, just chop off the pieces of tape at the end. Hopefully that helps!

    I didn't add buttons to this one, but it's possible to do so. Instead of cutting 4 strands of each color, you'd double the measurements and cut 2 strands. Then fold in half, tie a knot, make the bracelet, and end it with a button. (If that explanation was confusing, check out any of the other 3 friendship bracelet videos on my channel to see how it's done).
