Nice one. I think you had the right idea of treating it more as a leisurely Sunday run than a race, as the course did look a little stop-starty in places with various stationary and non-stationary obstacles. Looked like a fun day out!
Cheers, I had originally intended to race it, hence setting off rather too quickly, but in part due to having run the Rother Valley parkrun an hour before, I didn't have the pace in the legs to do so. Not really fuelling properly probably didn't help much and led to some calf cramps towards the end too!
Looked like a tough run, especially after already covering 13 miles and then with that hill towards the end. You did well to finish in the time you did. Well Done.
Good overall position Matt. You could see the Parkrun took a bit out of you? Had you a cold or allergy to pollen - sniffles a bit? Fair play to finish 14+ miles after a parkrun!!! You need to rethink a strategy for hills... 🙂 A nice run...
Cheers Keith ! Yeah, I think I did get a bit carried away and go a bit too quick on the parkrun, took a bit too much out to the legs to try and race it. Don't think I have hay fever/allergies, as it happens during the winter too, but just when I'm running. Ay, not been having much fun with hills these days !
