Would be interested in you showcasing how to evolve a four bar loop or a 16 step sequence into a full song!
Something to consider! Thank youuu!
Would love this too
Me as well. An OP-1 to Ableton workflow would be awesome to see!
Nice, love the op-1
Also, you cook hot fire🔥
Hot hot heat! 🥵

🍻 thanks for watching!
Nice one!
Thanks Sage! Hope you’re well man! 🍻
@@LiamKillen My pleasure, Liam! Thank you… you’ve given me so many awesome ideas of ways to make music with my OP-1… now I just need a bit more time to implement those ideas! I’m doing good, thanks. Hope you are, too, and are enjoying summer!
@@sagereynolds Best weather we've had in my life!
Awesome video! I’m getting my field tomorrow so this it great 😄
Enjoy it! I will have one…one day lol
@@LiamKillen looking forward to it so I can learn it from you 😁
Mad jealous….
I wish you sold or made your samples available, or talk about where you got them and how you got them on the op-1. Thanks for video!
My samples are available here! Samples.liamkillen.com
I dont own an op-1 and im not planning on getting one but this was still rly fun to watch, the loop was fire.
On many grooveboxes I often times stick to only using the white keys too.
Yeah it’s just easier to chop up that way 😊
Thanks for watching! 😊
Really liking the OP-1 contents of your channel (subscribed!). I have a question for you. It seems to me, right off the bat you started with a pretty dope sample to build the chord structure. Like...interesting harmonic content, interesting texture, kind of haunting. It feels like that has a lot to do with the mood you are able to build. So the question is...where do you source your raw samples from? Are you just extracting from some other artist's music (old school), are you creating these in some other gear and then sampling into OP-1? Or maybe using some sort of sample library with chord loops? Would really appreciate your thoughts on that. Thanks!
You might find something you like here: samples.liamkillen.com
also, splice.com is an insane source to pull samples from and they're 100 % royalty free.
Thanks@@LiamKillen !
@Liam Killeen how do I erase samples that I made by mistake tried factory resetting but that didn't make banks 1-7 available for sample! How do I erase the previous sample on op1 I only have bank 8 cus I never sampled into it??!!
erasing / undoing on the op-1 isn't a think unfortunately.
Can the Op-1 sample in mono left or right? Meaning you choose which channel you want to sample (L or R)…similar to MPC’s?
Everything’s in mono but you can Pan your parts on the master
@@LiamKillen gotcha. thanks.
The “yea” at 9:06😏
I was feelin’ it
@@LiamKillen that’s what she said
the fourth note in the bass sequence is sharp by a semi tone. not terrible but woulldnt be able to live with it,
You got me
I’m having this issue where I hit middle C and the recording isn’t the same pitch as the sample and it’s the same key I pressed to record anyone know a fix?
it could be that you're in the tape wheel, you're playing it back at a different speed.
can the samples be played by an external midi- controller?
I'm petty sure there' a way to set that up on the field but i'm actually not 100 % certain about the OG
Polyrhythms!
😏
Just like that I feel the need to break out the OP-1. Lol
Right!?
People here might know: where to get replacement encoders (knobs) for OPZ?
Probably direct from TE-
Love all the messing with the tune. I keep forgetting you can do that
That’s what brings the lofi!
TE really needs to replace that bullshit transient shaper and put a real ADSR on the drum sampler to avoid those clicks. It’s hard enough working with audio on the tape with all the reverb tales getting cut off on loops. Like come on, why cripple such an otherwise beautiful and powerful machine. It’s one thing to have quirks, it’s another thing to hinder its abilities.
Yeah that would help- not sure if the field already has that.
@@LiamKillen In doesn’t unfortunately. It’s one of the nicest things I’ve ever owned and incredibly infuriating.
