Great vid man! Really inspires me to pick up the OP-1 and make some lo-fi again. Also goes to show what a timless piece of equipment this is. Looking forward to watching more of your stuff!
I love the “Don’t FUCK IT UP” you can sample that and put it at the end of the 4 bar loop when the lead concludes and do a bunch of tape tricks with it ..Don Don DDon Fuck it up”. I might experiment with it.
Watching you carefully use the endless squencer and then make one mistake reminded me why I sold my OP1, haha. After I tried it, I am Elektron sequencer only guy now, with the laptop handling the editing. You got skills and patience :) I have to admit though the OP1 is king for top down TH-cam beatmaking videos
Hahah. The overdub of the drum track. The min that warning showed up I was like.... ohhh no. Been there a few times. Glad it wasn’t a massssive mess up. Solid that you kept that in the video for people learning.
I don't have an OP1. But I am loving these videos!! The music and style of video is great. Still very informative even if you don't have an OP1. keep them coming!
Me neither! lol I think the first 1k is the roughest...at least that’s what i’ve been told 🤷🏻♂️ Doesn’t make a diff ima keep doin’ it anyway. Thank you so much for watching!
I have a new OP1 Performance Function Series coming out where i'll be making a track featuring each performance function individually. First one should be out tomorrow! Stay tuuuuned!
@ 12:10 can you make a video, or respond to my comment how you loaded your own sound into the OP1 and named it.. thanks.. i thought you could only do snapshots thanks
@@LiamKillen hi one more quick question.. when lifting my sound i created *resampled a few times in tape mode* and dropping it into the sampler synth, like you showed.. im able to morph my sound yes.. but can i change synth engines and still use the same sound that was lifted? thanks for your quick reply.
@@LiamKillen I don’t want to change sounds. I want to use the sound I lifted and change synth engine. Still using the sound I lifted from the tape into the sampler engine.
@@LiamKillen I'm just messing lol don't mind me! I've seen these rock things a few times now on other Tubers too. At first I thought they were woo woo crystal healing shit, but I think it's just for looks. FOR SOME REASON! 😁 heehee
Great video! I was surprised when it was over -- didn't feel like 15 minutes. 🎵When it's over, is it really over? 🎵
Derek Mounce Well that’s a good sign :-)
The moment you threw Bass Face In there I was GROOVIN
Hahaha bass face seems to have that effect!

Yeah it’s def a common problem with the Op1!

Sooooo informative. Thanks!
Cheers ma dude! I’m glad that this helped!!!

It’s been a while since i’ve done that but there’s a software where you can do it. Google “op1 upload sample software” and you’ll find something.

Once you switch sounds you lost your preset unless you save it
@@LiamKillen I don’t want to change sounds. I want to use the sound I lifted and change synth engine. Still using the sound I lifted from the tape into the sampler engine.
If i’m understanding correctly you want to resample a sound you’ve recorded?
Would have liked the first bass sound more :) But great music and tutorials. Will get a used op1 soon 😋
Awesome! And thanks for watching 😊
I just got a op-1 today, im trying to sample a loop I don’t know where to start
I have tons of OP-1 content that can help you out with that! Here's a playlist: bit.ly/2WLQGFa
Telephone works well on hats
Bryan Rollins Yeah gives em that nice crunch!
so did you just record the guitar from your computer to the op1
Ummm i think that was a sample that I dropped in if i remember correctly.
I’ve never played an OP-1....can you save your songs or do you just keep recording over them?
I’ve always just erased them after recording them into my DAW but i think there’s a way to save them into the op1 vinyl player as well.
@@LiamKillen I mean how could you ever recreate the song. That seems like it would make it more of a glorified scratch pad. Interesting 🤔
Thus is the workflow of the op1
@@LiamKillen 😆
lol i know
I was like 420!

cheers
lol those two rock thingies might be the worst set dressing attempt at looking cool I've ever seen! xP 🤣 WHY ARE THEY EVEN THERE?!
You know best!
