Great work Dean and all in all so far everything that came apart looked good. The dreaded open bearings strike again with that amount of grease! I'm yet to see a D7 fork that remains oil tight and as you pointed out, the seals are woefully inadequate. The tyres were that old they could nearly be classed now as "heirloom" tyres. Looking forward to the rebuild.
Thanks Bones. Those tyres must be the originals, I'm sure of it. The tubes too, they still hold air really well. As you say, the forks will leak come what may, as the bushes seem ok it's pointless renewing everything for the sake of it. It will get new seals as a sign of goodwill! Hi great vlog, could you tell me were i can buy "universal bsa station tool"i,m about to to seal on a D10,looked but cant find tool for sale?,thanks Mark.
@@markkneller1172 you can get a tool from 'Classic Bike Shop' in the UK, not sure if it will fit D10. I had to make a tool to fit my heavyweight B175 forks.
