I get that EV ranges for coaches are still not quite there for the longer coach journeys. But surely all new coaches should be hybrid as standard. You’ve been doing hybrid and electric buses for a long time now. I’m not even asking for PHEV. Just standard hybrid for all coach models would probably suffice right now. I really struggle to understand this choice.
Thanks Chris for your comment. Our team has taken the time to listen to and talk with our customers to understand their needs. Whilst we champion electric and hybrid buses for city and urban use, right now these solutions are not suitable for our customers needs, which is why we have moved forward with HVO and biofuel options. Our target is to reach a net-zero value chain emissions, with an ambition to sell 100% fossil-free products.
@@VolvoBuses So you asked the overly conservative coach industry what they wanted? That’s weak. If you know what the right direction is, you have to have the bravery to push for it, rather than capitulating. So disappointing.
@@christill that's not how businesses run my guy, if Volvo gave them what you requested would you even purchase it? If their customers aren't demanding it right now why force something on them that they don't want.
@@fegik5922 Well, to be frank, the way the economy operates in general is disastrous. So you’re not wrong. We need emergency system change because the climate is collapsing and private industry can only make it worse.
