To be fair he's using a C tier weapon with a D tier ash. Great hammers do less damage than katanas so he's probably just limit testing how it works.

Now that's some good news. I wanted to cosplay Leonidas in DS3 for so long but there were no proper clothes. But ER is amazing when it comes to cosplay with all the spells and weapons.

@@benh.92 Lmao exactly I use essentially the same build as Chase but I always rush down enemies with running r2s and maybe r1s, and when they try to attack I'll counter with a roll r1, or just do a roll away.

The malenia weapon art has an insane amount of poise. A rock throw wouldn't take you out, your only worry should be colossal weapons, high poise weapon arts like glintstone pebble and gravity magic. It's essentially a trade art.
Funny enough it can also be parried :)

Regalia is my favorite sword. It's definitely very strong with a dex/arc build. I found it on my first playthrough and it carried throughout
I swapped builds regularly my first playthrough but kept coming back to the executioner sword. it ended up being the weapon I used to beat the game.

Stormstomp guy got upset that Chase didn't blindly trade into the infinite hyperarmor true combo cheese. Too many scrubs out there get frustrated when they force passive gameplay.

The waterfowl is the scariest thing to see someone use when you charge towards them AND they mastered free aiming it. It's guaranteed to die unless, uhh... Well, Bloodhound step exists so it's almost guaranteed. Great video, Chase

@@ameliaofastora 99.999999% of people don’t know that Waterfowl Damce can be parried. That’s why it’s funny lol it’s a telegraphed attacked that you can prepare for. (It also starts in the air so most people think it’s a series of jump attacks)

Oh yeah! Love the sword. May I recommend the Hoslow petal whips. Whips are so underrated in pvp but are actually really cool.
I think he already played the Hoslow Whips. This was about a week ago.

SkollCrow was mad 'cause Chase didn't just trade into storm stomp. He's the same as any ROB player that gets out of blue juice.
tbh that duel was as uneventful as it got, Chase threw out 6 attacks, only one hit from either party. No one did anything really
@@imVidzzz The thing is that Chase knows well that he can't just attack and be aggressive while Crow is using Storm Stomp, 'cause he can just reaction L2 and combo into R2 everytime he gets close (The main reason to buff from him, since he will trade every attack, and the main reason Chase runs back and forth to bait the storm stomp).
Unfortunately Storm Stomp can be quite as broken as other AOW, since you can just poise any attack your opponent does by reaction and trap him into a winning trade everytime. There's a video of a guy named Jeanine where he shows a duel. He just walks without stoping into his opponent and Storm Stomp every time it tries to attack, wining every trade without having to do anything else.
Absolutely, I understand why he was passive. It's the right way to fight against something like that. I was just saying I understand why the other guy also just quit the duel. When most duels last 30 seconds at most, 1 minute and a half of your opponent doing very little can be boring and if you're trying to have fun, taking the loss and moving to the next fight is tempting.

The jumping heavy on long katanas (Nagakiba and this one) is good for invasions when opponents are trying to reset(heal). Some panic roll after the first hit and you may be able to roll catch with an R1.
Love the showcases Chase! Would like to see the flowing curved sword on here with its dance like heavy it's a killer mixed with with sword dance just a thought! Keep it up man!!
I love wielding this thing in the offhand, you can quickly swap to it and the ash of war hovers over a ton of other ashes and has a good amount of hyperarmor

In Hand of Malenia showcase: how difficult it is to land Waterfowl dance
One thing to note that I'm unsure if you are aware of: The Winged Sword Insignia Talismans and the their cousin, Milicent's Prosthesis attack boost triggers after 3 attacks done back to back and of course having hit the opponent (also triggers with phantom hits on PvP), however unless you are continuously attacking afterwards and hitting, the buff will last for 1 second at best, so it's actually not a good idea to use those Talismans in PvP, since you won't be hitting enemy players frequently enough to maintain the damage boost.
I suggest using the Golden Order Greatsword, the ash is interesting and not enough faith weapons get love
I’d disagree, the blasphemous blade, coded swords, winged scythe and the halo scythe, all very popular options from what I’ve seen
powerstanced coded swords are scary

Given that we've seen a few Ripostes and backstabs, I really want to see a showcase of Misericorde. I want to see if you can make a pvp build focussing entirely on crits.
The dual dagger moveset is pretty sick as well, especially with the bull goat option.
Yeah I love parry farming with that dagger 1500 damage ripostes at soul level 70 means insta kills 90% of players.

You should try the Starscourge Greatswords next. I haven't seen you use them since your first Strength/Int build and it would be cool to see how they do in duels.

Glintstone Kris dagger! It's ash of war is similar to glintstone pebble but it can be charged and the followup attack travels a very long distance
I could be wrong, but I think claymore guy had a caestus in offhand with stormstomp, and flame strike on the claymore. Note they are 1h the claymore anytime they use storm stomp, but 2h it when they use flame strike.
I think the best way to use this ash of war is to trade into low sweeping attacks, since it seems to launch you really far up in the air. So I wonder if it can dodge crouch pokes or sweeps from colossal swords. Or other weapons with very horizontal attacks

You should note that the one-handed heavy attack of this Katana (and most katanas that share the Uchi moveset) is actually different from the overhead-underhand slash.
Also, you should do Wakizashi + Uchigatana powerstance at some point.

The one-handed heavy is a poke followed by a horizontal slash, which he didn't show because he never one-handed the weapon.

FINALLY! I've been waiting for this weapon since you started the series. Hands down one of the best weapons in ER. It may not have transient moonlight or corpse piler, but it's got insane stagger potential on its WA. If it lands, you're dead. I dual wield these babies in PvE and PvP, and I can't imagine a playthrough without them. Thank you for giving them the love they deserve.
wwaoo that duel before the invasion .. when he jumping and dodge away.. chasing using 3 movement at once, he turn back, and crouch then he attack him righ the time his enemy rolling finished and killing himm.. It was soo smooth, im only realize that after chase telling he using crouch and attack him .. damnnn.
Golden Order Greatsword DOES actually get a buff from it's Ash of War, it just doesn't last very long (it does however give a decent damage boost to holy, like 15-20% I think)
leveling endurance with this weapon is actually a good idea. With the stamina you have now, you can't even perform the weapon art fully and have some leftover XD Great vid!

Chase, is there a specific base save file template that you use to make all these characters and builds? I've been looking for one so that I can try more PvP builds without needing to replay the enormity thatbis ER every time. Any template I've found so far either has most of the graces but is missing tons of equipment/AoW/ flask tears/etc, or has all equipment/AoW/etc, but a fraction of the graces discovered.
Also, how often do you invade below level 125?
one handed r2s on katanas are really good, and most dont scale off str at all so its viable to use it one handed even if its the only thing youre using

Chase, the match @11:20 was definitely laggy. Doesn't seem like you noticed that at first, but yeah. I mean, it didn't LOOK typically packet-loss-ee... but I'm sure it was. The hits just did not make sense otherwise.
Hey did they patch the trick with her weapon where you can mix it with a dragon breath attack to make a insane long jump? I seen a speed runner do it but I'm having trouble replicating it

@@abaddonimpaler9917 we must be playing in different servers or something. because I go to the capital at level 80. zero invasions. I turn on taunters tongue hours go by. no invasions. Where are the spots You're invading please tell me because I only know of 4 locations in this whole game where you could get a quick invasion. And two of them suck. first step, and the lakes are the most garbage spots to invade just flat open nothing. With an AFK farmers thinking their smart making a passive income.
I always carry the hammer talisman for shield spear users. helps with the guard breaking.

9:25 I believe that he has an Ash of war on the baemore, and a talisman of sort, something on the off-hand that its not really visible at first sight, with another ash of war. because he uses the fire with the baemore and he uses the storm stomp with the baemore one-handed

He killed himself because Chase didn't agress once to him and was just backing up and whif punishing. It's the classic average Elden Ring player in duels right now. Back pedal and only attack after your opponent. Clearly that player hates it and doesn't want to participate in a match like that. I don't blame them, it's not fun to play with and against.
@@scottsocia7828 It's not that Chase was just walking back. He was actively searching for places to attack and had the awareness to avoid a trade that wasn't in his advantage.

Nice long sword and flashy waterfall dance WA but not convinced waterfall is very effective the majority of times. Sure when it connects it's awesome but seems to me most times it's avoided by virtue of the give away wind up and limited flight distance following suspension. The reason why it's so effective when Malenia does it is because she literally is able to zoom in over a much larger distance. Now if the distance was increased for players it would be so much more effective.I was contemplating trading in my remembrance for it but haven't bothered because.

Love these videos. How does one get the larval tears used to re-spec so consistently? I would love to also try out some different builds and weapons.
I play on playstation and i just manually back up my save before using the larval tear and if i’m not having fun with the build i just restore my save to before using the larval tear
I think he has backed up saved games with tears and other materials and just reloads his back up whenever he does a different build

I think endurance should be a stat you level up so that you have more stamina for the ash of war
Fun fact. Waterfowl is parryable. FUN fact number 2, it has so much poise that it requires being parried multiple times to actually put you into a repost state.
