Hello auto fun.. thanks for the video I have 2 questions.. I have a Ford f150 and want to get to mode 6 on order to read misfire live data and catylist monitors I dint know where to go on the system .. also I heard I say u work on fords would u be willing to do some online assistance trouble shooting .. I have a high rpm misfire 2500 to 3500 in cylinder 3 drives fine normal idles normal but misfire under load
You're welcome! Ah usually a bidirectional scanner is not needed to access mode 6. Most basic OBD2 scanners like this one th-cam.com/video/h8hh5ZUffz8/w-d-xo.html can access this mode (if supported by your vehicle). My "service function" button only takes me to a blank page? The scanner is brand new, how can I fix this? Everything else seems to work fine. Except that "service function" button on the homepage. If I go to the TPMS button" - it will prompt and tell me that it is not supported on my scantool (which is just the x431 Pro ... nothing else, just PRO). BUT, if I go to the "service Function' button-- it doesn't prompt, it just goes to a blank gray screen. I can see the bar at the top that says "service function" --- but the page is blank. I have already tried a total tablet reset and reinstalled the software-- with the same results. Any info on what I can do to fix this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hi Calholli! That is strange, I would recommend contacting Launch for tech support, they may be able to walk you thru some troubleshooting steps. And please keep us posted on your findings. Cheers!
Hi Abdelrahman! The scanner should continue to work once the updates expire if you choose not to renew them. The main use for the updates is for the car modules (say for example a new vehicle comes out that didn't exist and you wanted to access it with dealer level scan tool functionality). But unless you are working on a shop environment encountering new cars all the times, I would probably save money by not renewing the subscription or maybe updating it only once in a while but even then I would only do it, if I had to work on a new vehicle that didn't previously exist and was not covered by the scanner at the time of it's last update, otherwise I would be paying for updates that I really won't be using or need. I haven't reviewed the Autel one yet but I think you are talking about the OBD2 dongle, the software for that should be available off the App store (android or apple) if you don't see it there, try contacting Autel Tech Support, the may just be able to send you another copy of it. Hi Okeogu! similar process as with the dealer level tool, which can vary depending on how many keys you have left (some vehicles require a certain number of keys available and may also require the use of the Immobilizer Reset Module. Both are found under the Service Function tab. Additionally some cars will use their own IMMO function (sometimes called Theft Deterrent within the "System Selection" under the normal Diagnostics Menu.
