Nabisco discontinued their Famous Chocolate wafers :( I just ordered some Deweys Bakery brand because people are saying that is best replacement product.
I tried it and my wife loved it. The only thing I changed was to stabilize the whipped cream with a bit of gelatin to help stabilize it. And after about six hours in the fridge I put it in the freezer. It was delicious. Thanks for showing me how.
@@gailbarry3789 You could, but they're thicker than the wafers, and I think the filing might make it extra sweet. I think Oreo makes their own version of a similar product you can get on Amazon.
You could use Nabisco Nilla wafers, but since the Nilla wafers a much thicker, it would require a lot more time in the refrigerator for the wafers to soften. 🍸🍸
I am not a baker, but I love no bake cakes. This chocolate wafer icebox cakes doesn't get any easier. What are your favorite no bake cakes ?
🍸🍸
My mom used to make pudding cakes with graham cracker crusts. Few hours in the fridge and it was ready.
Sound good, will have to do a series on pudding cakes 🍸🍸
Strawberry is my favorite!
I'll have to try a strawberry version. Thanks for watching!
I first saw an icebox cake in a classic film. Glad to see you bring back vintage desserts. Looks delicious! :)
Make it, it is so worth it, perfect for the midnight munchies 🍸🍸

Found out today that Nabisco no longer makes the thin wafers..(as of April 2023) is there a substitute?
I heard that as well. There are other brands out there. I would check online. Thanks for watching!
Can you use Oreos instead of Christie’s chocolate wafers that you can’t get anymore?

looks delish! I would probably top with strawberries :)
Great idea - good color contrast to the white cream 🍸🍸
Could we use Nilla wafers with a chocolate whipped cream frosting? 🤔
Yes you could, but since the Nilla wafers a much thicker, it would require a lot more time in the refrigerator for the wafers to soften. 🍸🍸
Too bad these were discontinued!
It is sad. I have found some off brand copies but they aren't very good 🍸🍸
Is there a vanilla version of this cake?
