The stabilizer, (not the BFE), is designed for use when the trolling motor is in the stowed position only. Use to stabilize the shaft of the rite height while traveling. It was designed and came out prior to the BFE stabilizer. The BFE will stabilize when stowed or deployed.
Good tip on the boat cover. However, I don't believe the Rite Hite stabilizer is meant to use in the water. It is only designed for temporary support while trailering or running across the water. Also, there are no bearings in the BFE Stabilizer. It is just delrin plastic rings that are slightly smaller than the outer aluminum brace thus it spins freely and can be left on 24/7.
Thanks for the info. I didn’t realize that about the rite hire stabilizer. They don’t advertise that very good or I just missed it. I guess that’s why they call it a kickstand. Thanks again
The BFE mount is great but make sure you have your trolling motor shaft all the way down. The ultrex height adjustment never holds your trolling motor where you set it. As it slips down it also pulls the Rite hite shaft down because they are now attached with the BFE stabilizer. When it does this it will pull the shaft out of the motor head and you will be returning it for repair like you already have. I have only had mine about 15 months and it is basically garbage. I took the stabilizer off to fish a bass tournament (needed to access shallow water and you cannot adjust trolling motor height with the BFE stabilizer in place). After 2 days in semi rough water it is flopping like a limp noodle. I would never recommend buying a rite hite turret to anyone.
So the main question is if it's worth the money dose it work is it better than a pole or being on the trolling motor??????? I've been looking at this one and DD26 live foot and few others just need real info on it
Thanks for the advice. Just ordered it. Appreciate!

The cover issue is why I went with DD 26 with their adjustable mount
