One piece has such a special place in my heart. I started watching it in late 2017, eventually switching to the manga, and catching up towards the end of 2018. No other series captures that sense of childlike wonder while also containing extremely fascinating characters and worldbuilding like One Piece imo. It's a long and daunting series but I assure you it's worth it. I've never felt bored or regretful over starting the series and I really hope you feel the same

@@GavinReadsItAll I don't think you'll need that to keep going! I've been reading since 2005 and there was only a year or two when I collected ten or so chapters at a time before reading. Otherwise I've been looking forward to reading the new chapter every week!

I used to watch the anime when it was first coming out and got to about ep. 98 before life got in the way and I stopped. For the past few years I wanted to read or watch it and catch up but I never found the time so at the start of this year I decided to just go for it and make the time to read it. I have been taking breaks between arcs but after seeing your first OP video I binge read *a lot* (for me). Thanks for the re-motivation!

Great tip for shelving manga! Because it's so small, you can put a shoebox or somethibg on the shelf and make tiered shelves, storing twice as many manga while keeping them all visible!

You made the right choice buying the collection. In no small part the the question corner inserted into the volumes throughout. The SBS turns the world into something real. Everything from serious world building questions to running jokes some readers have with Oda himself, are answered there. Some readers even have recurring jokes with Oda!
One Piece has been a part of my life for... most of it tbh, so to say it has a special place in my heart is an understatement. Seeing someone pick it up for the first time and watching them fall in love with it with such excitement, like you are, is an experience i'll never grow tired of. In several months time when you're about to catch up you will think to yourself; "Damn... I wish there was more." I guarantee it.
One thing to keep in mind throughout this whole journey is that this was written by a single man, chapter by chapter, week to week. Remember that as the artwork improves and the story gets better and better. Oda got married in 2004 and didn't get to go on his honeymoon till 2010.
I'm bigging the series up a lot, it's important to know just how monumental One Piece is as a series. Both commercially and a piece of media on the whole.

I've never touched One Piece but your joy in falling hard and fast for it is so fun to watch. There's nothing like that whirlwind excitement of finding an instant favorite.
Getting the entire series was definitely worth it! One hundred volumes sounds so intimidating - I was nervous when collecting Fullmetal Alchemist and that's not even a third as long as One Piece.

god, maybe one day ill be able to own all the volumes of one piece as well! ive been watching/reading the series since i was 10 or 11 years old, around 14 years ago, and its just always been part of my life it feels like. getting home from school and watching the german dubbed skypea episodes, celebrating when something good happened, crying my eyes out when something bad happened or someone backstory got revealed lmao...just the best

Getting a hold of the fabled volume 100 was something I could only dream about when I started watching the anime in 2005 and reading the manga in 2006. As a long term fan of One Piece you have no idea how good it felt to finally reach volume 100. The week to week experience reading and watching this series is truly special. It will be a mixture of elation, relief and sadness when it finally ends, although I still think we have several years left to go despite Oda's claims it will end in 3 years. He is notoriously bad at giving timelines after all

buying all volumes of one piece in one go even though you've only read the first 12 or so volumes might sound crazy to some but with one piece it's actually 100% the greatest investment any reader could do. trust me, one piece won't let you down. you won't regret any of it for a single second! can't wait to see your journey, welcome to the one piece family!

One suggestion to store the comic/manga books is to use the DVD cabinet bought in IKEA. The size fits and it is neat, and it saves space too. Just a suggestion, I use that as well.

Maybe by the time it actually concludes (😭) you will be able to fill up that full shelf without doubling (or maybe still with the doubling). At the current moment, I'm guessing we might get to 150 volumes... maybe 125 at the smallest. It does feel like we are approaching the endgame, but at the same time, who knows how long even the endgame will take? I'm just hoping no one will pressure Oda into ending it early (or what I actually mean is on time in that quoted "5" years... if it takes longer, it takes longer).
You could be right on the bookshelf space and I would love for the entire series to fill it up! I feel like I may have gotten into OP at the right time as there’s an endgame in sight, though I’m now sad that my journey will be over in a couple of years when other people have been part of One Piece for 2 decades 😢

Technically (without spoiling) we can feel it in the current narrative now, so we talk like it could be real, but there also is a ton of stuff he could cover in the meantime that elongates the story. I'm sure you already got it at that point, just what I mean is don't be disappointed if it keeps going.
(Though, I don't know how people could... I know a lot of fans are thinking more "What am I going to do when it does finally end" more than anything, but it always sounds like many are waiting for it to end to be a part of that big occasion.)
Oda Said OP will be done in 4-5 years, but again he said that in 2014 😂 but we are in the last Saga, so who knows, I hope he stays healthy and he can finish this masterpiece

This is amazing. If I came into a fortune, I'd definitely collect the entire series too. I've read many manga, but One Piece is one of only 3 that I have ever actually day dreamed about collecting.

I would love to have those, but sticking to Omnibus since it's cheaper and more readily available. Like they actually have collections for each saga, but they're always sold out and sold by scalpers for 5 times the amount which is about 500-600$ for East Blue while I easily got the entire East Blue Omnibus for about 80$. Like there is a clear cheaper option.

As a slightly older reader, I'm new to Manga (Covid time made me want to branch out into Anime & Manga & I'm happy I did!!!) I've read a lot of Junji-Ito's works, and am currently reading Berserk (which is outstanding) but looking at more for the future, so One Piece, the Vinland Saga and Death Note are on the list.
Your haul is incredible! Since Covid, books are now even more expensive here in NZ, and freight costs have skyrocketed, so off to the library or online for me.

I started reading it last year during the lockdown in my country and I had so much anxiety of getting Covid or my family getting Covid and quarantining in government bases so I read it every day. There are days I finish a short arc in one day cos I had to know what happens before I slept

Completing a collection, especially if it’s out of print or anything can be such a pain.
I used to read the w.i.t.c.h magazine and collected some of the bind up paperbacks. But eventually when the series ended the stopped selling them. Since they were published by a more magazine/comic publisher and I guess it was nothing with a high demand. Anyway for a long time I only had the few volumes I bought as a teen and getting them individually wasn’t really a thing so I eventually just bought someone’s complete set on eBay and just kept the ones I didn’t already own. Was a big Investment all at once but did. save me much time spent searching.

Maybe if you swap the triple pack collections with the ones on the bottom and move the Luffy figurine somewhere else you can fit the 100 volumes on the top line
Your even luckier because that 20 you got and some others are in gold on the top it means one of the first prints I watched this video 5 times cuz of satisfaction of opening them up
Based off past statements and calculations there should be 18 to 20 volumes after that to complete the series so you should plan for that much more. I figure there will be 118 volumes when the series is over from those statements and how many chapters usually come in a volume. I've already made room in my collection for those not released yet. Anyway, it's both cool and wild that you bought every volume so far in one shot like that.
I’m so excited for this journey!! I started one piece back in 7th grade, now I’m in the 11th… thanks to birthday money and Christmas I have the first two box sets of the manga and the last one as well… now I just need the 3rd one and the 5th one whenever it comes out! I think I’ll continue collecting them in box set form because that’s how I started collecting the manga. To be honest I have not read it, but I’m caught up with the anime! I’ll definitely read it in the future to rediscover the amazing journey I’ve been going on with the strawhats for a while!
I finally catched up with one piece last week and I'm also completely obsessed with it. I have the first 4 omnibus versions (read the rest on a free app), but my ultimate dream right now is to own all 100 volumes. This series is just unexplainably good
You're saving money for sure. When One Piece ended, the demand for those volumes will increase as so many fans will try to buy the full collection.

i dislocated my knee, and one piece is so long, that basically my entire recovery was just getting through one piece, time did fly by it served its purpose, but i dont look so fundly back, for sure there are some hard to get through arcs, my least favs are : the ceasar clown island, skypiea, the fishman island, big mom's island, nami's origin, gecko moria's island, the furries island, the colosseum, in that order, ceasar clown being my least fav.
This brought a huge smile to my face. Makes me want to buy books.
