One of the best band playing today as far as pure musicianship is concerned, and they are TEENAGERS!!!! both Hal-Ca on guitar and Miyu on bass!!! When they composed and developed this song, they were all still teenagers. The two in front still are. Old man Mio on drums is now 20, bassist Miyu just turned 19 this month, guitarist Haruka "Hal-Ca" is still 18 and just graduated high school. They are all child prodigies. I believe they met when Haruka was 11? Y'all feel free to correct me on this if you know better. They began playing professional level gigs when Haruka was 13 and have been going stronger and stronger ever since, so, 5 years on. Buckethead was impressed and introduced them to his Tokyo music industry contacts and played on a couple of tracks on their first album. I also hear that Bootsy Collins was involved in production. Everyone who is into hard rock and metal who hears them is awed by their ability and the depth of their creativity at this age, or at any age. Miyu plays ESP basses, at least that's what I have seen, and depending on the song, Yes he plays all of it. Last I knew it was a 7 string though. Another instrumental band is D_Drive. Four people, 2 six string guitars, bass, drums. Both guitarists are excellent, but it is clear the dude typically on our right (their "stage left") is lead. Technically very good IMHO, though I have to say Asterism is another level. Fun music for a road trip.
Hey GG - thank you for having the courage to react to this amazing video as it is really quite different and definitely not mainstream. I enjoyed your reaction and analysis very much. I have heard some tracks from this amazing trio but vocalless band is not really my cup of tea, so I didn't really dig deep into this band. Don't get me wrong, their talents are indeed amazing and I love listening to their compositions. Next please react to other tracks by the bands you have discovered here, like LOVEBITES, Nemophila, Band-Maid etc. But if you want another brand new band, please try Ningen Isu. It's another trio with unusual, unique traits that you'll love so much. "Heartless Scat" would be a good starter, or you can react to my fave song "The Colour out of Space". Thanks man!!
Their latest output was the "Guernica"-EP in December. Again 6 tracks of greatness. No video though. Under a new management. I hope Amuse (Babymetal) will put them more out there in the world of metal-lovers.
@@salsaucedo Me too. I ordered all the physical versions although i had the mp3s. You have to support the artist. But the rarest thing to get besides the first EP is the CD+DVD-version of ignition. I could not get it until now. On discogs it`s about 350 dollars.
@@akaalexanderking I cannot understand how you could pay 10 bucks for a mp3-Version with inferior sound and nothing in your hands. But japanese cds are very expensive. A normal album costs around 30 euros. Concert-Blurays around 50-60 euros.
Ah, Asterism. I feel like anything I say is going to be superfluous and obvious, but I'm really happy I discovered them and that you have now as well. Their bass guitarist is fantastic but seems to be willing to back Hal-Ca (I don't know if that's supposed to be all caps or not) most of the time. I've never seen a seven-string bass guitar in person, but it's neat to see someone play one so skillfully. As far as songs where he stands out go, I recommend "Stars." I'll link a version live from China where the camera is close. It's not a HUGE emphasis on the bass and drums, but the bass guitarist does great work in it and has an insane outro with Hal-Ca. th-cam.com/video/LVIJFhF68Pg/w-d-xo.html The other song I'd recommend for love for the bass guitarist is their cover of Van Halen's "Jump." The unique arrangement is killer, and the bass does more in that cover than Michael Anthony ever did in any Van Halen song. It's a one-take live performance, and it's the best bass guitar work I've seen from this young man - and he's playing a four string! th-cam.com/video/vCaQaT_PUxo/w-d-xo.html Also, I share your love for pizza. I always have homemade pizza dough and sauce in the freezer, I make my own pepperoni and grow my own veggies, and I eat pizza at least twice a week.
@@akaalexanderking, I graduated from culinary school years ago and am something of a food snob. My wife and I own 5+ acres in the country and have a large garden and a good number of fruit trees, and we do a lot of canning and pickling and fermenting of what we grow. We make our own sausages, too, and all the meat and dairy we buy is local. We're passionate about all foods, but pizza is definitely among the top things we make.
Wonderful analysis of a masterpiece. I don't know if you would consider doing a second reaction to this piece, but their live version (link follows) is sufficiently different that it would be worthwhile. She adds a lot to the studio version, especially the second part after the break, where she turns up the intensity to an unbelievable level. And the camera angle captures her hands in close-up through much of the clip. th-cam.com/video/buQPvINJcA0/w-d-xo.html
@@akaalexanderking You could start it off-screen and then pick it up as a reaction to the last two minutes, which she changed up quite a bit. Just an idea.
Somewhere on TH-cam is a video of them playing while in their school uniforms. They are instrumental almost exclusively, but when they do covers they sometimes have a guest vocalist. The bassist Bootsy Collins is a big fan of theirs, helped get their 1st album, "Ignition" produced. They also had Buckethead play on a song on that album. The bass has 7-strings.
The philosophy of the band is a battle on every performance. HAL-CA always has a very difficult task to beat that monstrous 7-string bass, on which MIYU wants to realize his dream and become the best bassist in the world.
Asterism should be X-rated for guitarists. It's not good for your self-esteem and can course guitarists to start playing accordion instead or even taking up golf or anything since they can't call themself "guitarists" anymore.

Marty lives in Japan now and the singer is Japanese, so I guess it does count as Japanese recommendation ;)
remember ... no matter how good you think you are, there's a 18 year old japanese girl somewhere being much better ;)
After this, I won't argue with it 😂
@@akaalexanderking In most cases they are younger than 18.
Even better ahahaha
17 🤘🏼😎
Thanks man, tomorrow we have a new Lovebites reaction ;) but I'll try to keep on adding new band as well 👍🏻
@@akaalexanderking thank you!!
她們絕對是金屬界的未來 They Shred
They sure do!
ever hear the old fashion term about how to make a guitar sing? well, that's it!
Couldn't agree more 🤘🏻
Their latest output was the "Guernica"-EP in December. Again 6 tracks of greatness. No video though. Under a new management. I hope Amuse (Babymetal) will put them more out there in the world of metal-lovers.
Let's hope so, the about of skills here I'd unbelievable!
I have it and it is amazing I actually bought everything except the first EP have to order overseas
Love how you guys still support physical music 👍🏻
@@salsaucedo Me too. I ordered all the physical versions although i had the mp3s. You have to support the artist. But the rarest thing to get besides the first EP is the CD+DVD-version of ignition. I could not get it until now. On discogs it`s about 350 dollars.
@@akaalexanderking I cannot understand how you could pay 10 bucks for a mp3-Version with inferior sound and nothing in your hands. But japanese cds are very expensive. A normal album costs around 30 euros. Concert-Blurays around 50-60 euros.
Haruka! 🤟
🤘🏻
Hal-Ca is Micheal Schenker, Pat Travers, John Petrucci, Steve Via, and Joe Satriani all put together
I hear a lot of Jason Becker as well ;)
Ah, Asterism.

The other song I'd recommend for love for the bass guitarist is their cover of Van Halen's "Jump." The unique arrangement is killer, and the bass does more in that cover than Michael Anthony ever did in any Van Halen song. It's a one-take live performance, and it's the best bass guitar work I've seen from this young man - and he's playing a four string!

Also, I share your love for pizza. I always have homemade pizza dough and sauce in the freezer, I make my own pepperoni and grow my own veggies, and I eat pizza at least twice a week.
I really admire these musicians already, but I admire even more someone who's so committed about pizza! 😁
How wonderful! What we get in our body affects us deeply, getting so much control over that is one of my goals for the future 👍🏻
ok giovanotto! pizza-guitara per tu e pizza-baterria per me! (me dispiace spelling, troppo tempo in stupido America)
I like the idea man 😂
Wonderful analysis of a masterpiece.
Thanks a lot! If not for a whole reaction, I'll definitely use that to understand more about her guitar chops privately 🤘🏻
@@akaalexanderking You could start it off-screen and then pick it up as a reaction to the last two minutes, which she changed up quite a bit. Just an idea.
🤘😊🤘

Checkout Madcap Laughs with Kiyoshi
Thanks :)
While this is a fantastic song I also really recommend checking the FB live version of Disperse by these guys.
Thanks Ron :)
female "joe Satriani" in speed metal style
She's amazing
Hal-ca is amazing and she is only 18 years old
And in this video she was 16!
@@hiawatha.g yes
Absolutely crazy, how can you be that good at that age
As another reactor pointed out if any of us stopped doing everything in our lives right now and played for 16 years we would probably not be that good
That's a possibility ahahah
OMG. She is a Beast................................. yes, SHE
Fantastic guitarist, bright future ahead of her 🤘🏻
Bass?... try maybe BLAZE
Noted, thanks!
Thanks for the info! Hopefully that will help to spread the word and help them grow
The philosophy of the band is a battle on every performance. HAL-CA always has a very difficult task to beat that monstrous 7-string bass, on which MIYU wants to realize his dream and become the best bassist in the world.
That thing enormous! Biggest bass I've ever seen actually played in a band ahahah
Asterism should be X-rated for guitarists. It's not good for your self-esteem and can course guitarists to start playing accordion instead or even taking up golf or anything since they can't call themself "guitarists" anymore.
😂😂😂 I actually found it motivating. But I can't deny the accordion is calling for me ahahah
