I began with Front Mission series (SNES - Yes I know that I'm old) the Ogre battle and for history the famous Final Fantasy Tatics and Hoshigami:Ruining Blue Earth. But most Fun was Disgaea (Prinnies are hell'a fun)
I love ramen and I can't pick a fav char of all time rn so Hulkenberg from Metaphor is my fav char of the year! Thanks for the highlight on this, it looks great!
This game looks great visually. Reminds me of a game I worked on awhile back. I think it needs a dynamic camera pass for some of the abilities/events and at least some screen shake to give the battle more game feel.
@FaenoraVerse I like it, it's something I'd definitely love to try out. The "pizzazz factor" he mentioned in the video coupled with my animations comment is really what doesn't drive it home. But I also didn't know it was your alpha, I just knew this is a demo. But it has a lot of potential. I think if you had some kind of cool mechanic that just kind of separates it from the pack would be cool. Disgaea comes to mind, where you can dive into items and do item dungeons to rank up your gear, or pirate ship battles. You know the market is super saturated with both RPGs and Roguelikes. And for the first one, it's always been like that. But there are times where gems just shine through because they do something really different. Like Skies of Arcadia is my number 1 game of all time. And that's because they had ship battles, and the ability to recruit people in the game world for both your upgradeable ship and your home base. It just gives something to do that is fun, rewarding for exploration, and also breaks the "loop" but actually has effort put into it to make it really engaging. It's when games have that special something, where I can easily recall fond memories that don't get lost in my sea of gaming memories.
Looked it up and seems the devs are making TWO games. The other one, Battle for Faenora, is basically the exact same game but without the roguelite elements and with terrible synty art assets. It's a real shame that the non-roguelite doesn't have the same charming 2d artstyle.
That’s valid, I think it takes a lot of playing to get the balance down instead of getting one-shot by the end, haven’t found anything similar yet though. Maybe Unicorn Overlord
@@FaenoraVerse October. I checked it out again, but for instance Slash x2 and Slash x1 feels as if there is no difference. "Battle Actions" is just deceiving. It's still just a grind game that doesn't really have tactics involved. Sadly it's just not my cup of tea. I wish you guys the best though.
What is your favorite Tactics RPG? Let me know yours below!

Final fantasy tactics and ogre battle are up there for some of my favorite games. I also have some of the classic front missions those were incredible
@@Big-Al227 indeed they are ! Oh Btw there is manga for Front Mission: Front Mission Dog Days. Give a try!
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll check it out

Metaphor is a game I have to get too, hopefully in the new year! Ramen is a 10/10

That’s probably what I was feeling but couldn’t put it in words. It definitely needs a little extra shake and movements! Thanks for the comment!
Didn't know about this one. It's definitely got that nostalgic look to it
Yea a real classic feel, hopeful to see where it goes
So enemies don`t attack? They just breath heavy and run into you?
I did notice that some of the later, stronger enemies have more animations to them, but the wolves and dragons kinda just do that
It’s an alpha demo!
Thanks for the feedback - what do you think of the game loop?

I really like this kind of game!
Same! It’s great! Let me know if you check it out or if you know of any similar ones to play!
the battle phase remind me of breath of fire 2
We need a Breath of Fire remake ASAP
You see ghosts all the time?
Depends on the day

That’s a real shame, thanks for doing that digging! A non-roguelite would be a great addition
That’s just a demo concept.
This game shows what happens when we have time to focus on a product.
I was really disappointed when I played this demo a while ago. Maybe they improved from earlier, but I found it unbalanced and didn't have fun.

When did you play?
I’m sure we have made a gajillion changes.
