Make sure to listen to the merchant he will tell you if you are about to advance forward with no way of returning... And yes after the cabin assault you can't go back to do the village chief savage mutt request. But if you wanted to get it you could reload a previous save, go do the savage mutt request, put the difficulty all the way down to assisted so you can easily beat the cabin assault, and then after you can change the difficulty back to hardcore.
Take note that when wielding the Red9, you need to keep aiming at a target to stabilize your aim, and you also increase the chance of a critical hit when fully aimed. You'll just keep hitting nothing and waste ammo if you don't take your time. You really need to invest in the Red9 stock if you want the gun to actually be good.
One thing I don't understand is you've said in the past you played the original RE4 many times...why are you still theorizing and wondering what's going to happen next?
Heya! I’m actually glad you asked 😁 I tried to convey it when we started, but I know it seems strange. I was aiming to try and treat this playthrough spoiler-free for those who might not have ever experienced this game before and talking about those things when we learn them organically (like if we start the game and immediately bring up what the Gigantes or the lake monster will be like and the plaga when we don’t know that stuff yet), but also when I played this game on the PS2/Gamecube/Wii at the time I didn’t really read any of the in-game lore files cause I was impatient and gameplay focused lol so playing through this game again and willing and excited to read the things and comprehend the lore and theorize about the things that I didn’t truly grasp back then is cool, and even if there are small things I know, theorizing is part of the fun for RE games and how everything pieces together 😁 It’s probably an awkward balance of avoiding speaking on spoiler stuff early and also being hyped about what’s to come lol but I’m hoping it’s not ruining it

Chris! You make me interested in playing these games, even though I hate zombies. LOL
Matt! That’s awesome, maybe on day you’ll dive in yourself and brave it! Haha I totally get hating the zombies lol

I did notice that a bit yeah the Red9 has a stability focus, sensitive, but good to know 😁 I gotta be smarter, patient aiming and more accuracy!
