Factory duel exhaust came with reinforcements for the area under the back seat where you hang the mufflers. Very important. The back of the floor pan is very thin there, and will tear from the exhaust movement. You can make your own reinforcement plates or order them. I did this exact upgrade, about 30 years ago.. Added the same stock type dual exhaust mufflers and scored some cool, NOS 65 GT Trumpet tips. It was way too quiet 🤫... Frustrated, I 🤔 thought cutting out the painted stainless louvers would make louder.. It didn't, and what a freaking idiot I was for ruining those tips..I finally swapped in some early gen Flowmasters, it still sounds great.. This set-up, looks awesome 😎, especially from the back, with tips thru the valance, and even better when it's on a lift, with the factory type pipes, brackets and hangers. Though you can barely hear it run, by caparison.. The moral here is, don't use these stock type mufflers, if you like a hot V8 noise. You will regret it !!!!!!
I noticed your Mustang has rear seatbelts. I sure would like to talk to you about the locations of the anchors. I am putting them in my 65 but it didn’t have them originally so there are no places marked to drill holes for the anchors. Is there anyway we can discuss that? Jerry
Are the mufflers a two chamber or straight through? I have called three companies that carry the kit and no one can tell me. I wish I could have heard your exhaust rev up. I have MagnaFlows and I do like the sound. I think this might work on my 1966 Fastback. Just installed a 302/347 stroker. Looking for the right sound.
I'll be honest I have no idea if they are two chamber or straight through. They are Scott Drakes C5ZZ-5257-WOR basically but with resonators. I am putting C5ZZ-5257-WOR on the 65 with no resonators so I will make a video of comparing the two eventually. I will say with the resonators I don't get to much noise when you rev the engine which I'm not a huge fan of which is why I'm switching to no resonators on the 65. I do have another short video on my channel of the exhaust note while revving the car up. I will say driving at 70mph in the car is quite nice with this exhaust. I get no cabin drone from it but when I'm sitting at stoplight or just idling I get a nice rumble. Hope this helps.
@@therealautoranch That's a nice set up. You should keep the resonators. I have a 66 that I want to daily drive with no resonators and its really loud and drones. Working getting this GT exhaust system with resonators. That little clip of start up at the end sounded perfect. A little growl but very tasteful.
Getting the exhaust to fit through the rear valance is the tricky part that I haven't quite figured out yet! Anyone got any suggestions? The passenger side isn't too bad, but the drivers side is tough!

Nice job bro, i have hedman's 88300 long tubes , and i think there is no bolt in exhaust system for it 😣

Im just going to put turndowns after the muffer. Sounds cooler. Easier to deal with.
