Ladies, wear modest clothes and do not be afraid of the heat. The more you cover the body, the more it will be protected from the direct heat of the sun. And she's right, the choice of material is the most important. This is a sincere advice of a veiled girl from a country where the temperature in the summer rises to 45 degrees. Your speech is very wonderful and sane Anna.

It’s such a myth that wearing less clothing in the heat makes you cooler! Recently amidst the NYC heat wave I began to wear longer sleeves, pants, and maxi skirts in breathable fabrics (for modesty & sun/ pollution protection)- I’ve actually been more comfortable and cooler than I ever was wearing shorts and tanks.

Anna, thank you for educating me on linen years ago. The majority of my summer wardrobe is linen and it is fantastic for keeping me cool and looking a bit elevated (much classier than a cotton t-shirt). I also find it very disrespectful when tourists wear inappropriate attire in places of worship. We should think of ourselves as representatives of the country, city or town we are from when traveling, so dress well.

I try not to dress up or look “expensive” as a tourist. I try to blend in with the locals as much as possible. Many places I visit are impoverished (but very beautiful) countries. As such, the people are poor and need only an excuse to mug you or worse. Leave jewellery at home and don’t look “expensive” unless you want to be a target. PS pants and leggings are harder to remove if someone attacks or attempts to r*pe you. Function over fashion unless you’re vacationing on a private yacht! Please

And I’m from Rio, Brazil, so I know what I’m talking about. I was never mugged in Rio de Janeiro in my life and I dress like “an European tourist” daily. Btw, we wear bikinis in shopping malls. Of course you can’t do that in India, for example, but Europe? Common sense, please. Anna isn’t saying “wear all your expensive jewellery”; she’s saying “wear this hat, wear that midi dress”… in Europe! I did a road trip in Italy for a whole month and, honestly, pretty much every Italian woman would wear the most expensive items walking the streets. Fancier stuff than what Anna suggests.

Love the point about churches, unfortunately this common sense and courtesy is not so common! It's also important to note that in many of the bigger cathedrals in Europe, the staff will not let you enter if you are wearing inappropriate clothing and they may ask you to buy a covering for the duration of your visit - i've seen this many times. So it's better to be respectful and prepared rather than be embarrassed at the entrance!

About respecting part, I agree 1000%. People who have a "I don't give a f*ck" attitude are then surprised why others stop respecting them. I think most people mistake the concept of that mentality where that is beneficial to apply and where it is not a good idea.

Thank you! I am so tired of women wearing work out gear literally everywhere! I agree, wearing revealing clothes in churches and cathedrals just make you look ignorant!
Your advice about elevated warm weather looks was spot on. To a summer festival I recently attended, I wore a sleeveless white blouse (tip: wear it buttoned lower than the right button, use a small 🧷 safety pin to secure the low cut look) and high wasted skirt in a beautiful red and gold print fabric…giving leg, carrying a fabulous bag and well chosen jewelry, and my big shades. I stood out from the booty shorts, tank top wearing women. My upscale look pulled a fine looking well-heeled Man. We had a great afternoon listening to the live performances and talking. We have been spending time ever since. First impressions! 😉

Thank you. This video is exactly what I've been waiting for years from you Anna. Living in Bali where it's "summer" everyday and moving around on two wheels everywhere.. I don't have any problem with dresses to wear to stay neat & classy around Bali. Besides the culture prefers anyone to dress modestly anyway, so I'm comfortable with that. Footwear; now that's tricky for me. Riding scooter, walking on uneven pavement, going to somebody's house which only access is the dirt road, buying groceries in pasar (local market).. Heels sometimes won't do

It took over 20 years but I literally cleared out all my clothes and bought more things that fit a capsule wardrobe. So more high-end pieces that mix and match in more neutral colours, silks, satins, mohair for Winter and all Linen for Summer! I avoid fast fashion now if possible just as it clogs up my wardrobe and I only usual get a few wears before it starts to fade and fall apart! YES it took time to get a good wardrobe, swapping that £40 H&M dress for a £130 one from Ghost, but now I have invested in it, I rarely need anything else. I swear by the brand Ghost London!

What a refreshing outlook! Feminine , classy appropriate for occasions, quality fabrics, respectful of other cultures and the way they live, worship, etc...AND you always look beautiful! It's funny, but today I was looking at backpacks and fanny packs for future travel, and I immediately thought "Would Anna term these as classy?" the answer was NO, and I kept on walking ,LOL. Besides they were far from being attractive. Although young moms do carry them when they have little ones because it leaves both their arms free, understandable. I am always thinking, wallet, phone, comb, lipstick, compact, and wonder if it all fits in the small bags? I love the look of linen. The blue linen dress looked stunning on you. Thank You Anna. And please keep expounding on NO leggings and athletic and athleisure wear, and running, shoes, It looks boring, everyone and their aunt is wearing them, looks unoriginal, all look the same, and plain, NO one, dressed like that stands out for looking beautiful and classy in a sea of leggings. I am thankful for young women like yourself who care about themselves!

Anna, I am so happy that I found your channel! As a 16-year-old who loves dressing elegantly and just elegance in general, I really appreciate your tips.
Ever since I'm watching your videos, I pay even more attention to small details. Whenever I walk into a fast fashion store, I feel like I am a quality controller 😅 and most of the times I walk out of the store disappointed mainly because of the quality of the garments, but at least I'm not spending my money on something that's not worth it.
I feel very confident and refined in elegant clothes, however, I didn't really have the courage to wear them on regular school days because I felt like I would look so different from others.
I did it like twice though, (I was like: "I don't care, I don't need to fit in, I'm gonna put on an elegant outfit today because I'm in the mood for it and won't care about what others think") and guess what? I got quite a few compliments from my classmates (and even from some of my teachers) about my outfit and how much it suits me.
Also, once I was wearing an elegant outfit when I was shopping with my mom, and at some point she asked: Do you notice how many people take a look at you? I had no idea.
This does not mean though that I'm gonna give up on wearing regular everyday clothes, but I'm gonna dress elegantly if I feel like it. 🤍
This shows how outstanding elegant people are, so ladies, wear those clothes if you want because you'll shine in them!
(and I'm not saying this negatively, I don't want to be rude by any means, you can be outstanding in any outfit if you are being yourself, by outstanding I mean that nowadays not so many people dress this way, therefore it might stand out a little 🤍 + elegance is more about personality, being kind to others and handling every situation with class, but I really do like the way elegant people dress as well!)
    greetings from Hungary 🤍
