Loving the videos man. Local to the Durham area so seeing the locations you go to in NC, VA, and TN is unique and gives me a ton of info for planning my trips. Keep up with the trips and trail info! I like gear reviews but every overlander on youtube has gear reviews and they all repeat the same specs and info about the products. You give some of the best insight to local trails and nobody on youtube is doing that. I also like the "real rigs" that you guys drive; not the "sponsored by...." rigs that other channels have. Keep up the great work and I'll keep watching.

Real rigs is right! Not that I would turn down a sponsership, but that's definitely not what the channel is about! Thanks for following!

Thanks, glad they are useful! I have really enjoyed getting to know the area and there are a number of other spots both southwest of Asheville and northeast where I'm looking forward to exploring in the near future.

Hey, I just recently found your channel and I've been checking out your videos. Do you have any Gaia, .gpx, or .kml maps?
I'm in Upstate SC and I am almost done with the mechanical stuff of my overland build - the Appalachia Wander Wagon - a 2019 Subaru Outback 3.6R Touring - complete with lift, suspension 30" ATs and all the good stuff to get me where I want to go. I'm going with a group from Overland Bound to Gorges in 2 weeks, but I was thinking about going out exploring the area around there this weekend. I'll be flying solo, so some maps would really help!
I've marked up many a mile from the easy Old NC 105 to the much more difficult Hurricane Creek. I just feel a lot more comfortable with a route downloaded before I go out on my own!

Hey Trey, Gaia GPS actually has the trails in the Gorges State Park area marked correctly in their app. When we did Gorges last summer we had Gaia open and what they had listed matched well with what we drove. The only wild card is which gates will be open or closed. To find out that your best bet is to call the park ranger at the Gorges State Park office and ask. They generally have a good idea of how far back you can drive any given weekend. If you want a good paper map (and I think there is an online version too) then the Gorges State Park office sells one produced by Pisgah Map Co called "The Blue Wall" that includes Gorges and Mustard Ground Road (see my video for that too.) The nice thing about this map is that it shows most of the gates and has some info about when they are open and closed. Good luck and enjoy the time out there!

@@mountainstoseaoverland9855 Awesome - I know about Mustergrounds (more-or-less) but I saw a post on Facebook recently from SCDNR that work has commenced on Horespasture Road up there from a landslide. I'm always concerned about downloading Gaia maps from random people because it's not always too clear how long ago they were tracked, how clear their signal was, and I've ran across a few where people have gone off-trail to just get their rig dirty. Those are the kinds of people who ruin it for everyone. I'm working on building up my routes on Gaia that I know are current and accurate. It's just taking a lot of weekends. I'm off to the Blowing Rock area this weekend. Happy trails!
