One thing I'd love to see at the end of your bashing vids is a damage assessment back at your shop. Kind of take it apart a bit and see what all is actually broken. Then we can start to see the weak points of each vehicle. Just a thought. Love the videos!!

I had a feeling once you pointed out the bent drive shaft out of the box, it was gonna be a disappointment. It was a fun rc for a few good jumps thanks for the video 😃
Something I'd expect from a RTR from Banggood, not a $650 roller.
Not the driveshaft, it was that carbon fiber brace. It was bending up, sticking out of the chassis.
Mine rear drive shaft from the XTR 2022 was bend even worth fresh out of the box.... 🤷♀️ HOW?!?!?

I own a Kronos v2, never broke or bend anything on it, so for normal use, it can hold up quite nicely, what Kevin is doing is extreme, and i don't believe that all of you are that hard on your cars, just keep that in mind.. Bless you Kevin for doing what you do, so we don't have to ;)
The chassis bent before it got any real air. The steering went funny just from standing back flips 🤣
It's still nice to know that your rc will stand up to the abuse were something to go wrong or if you decide to do some hard bashing. Weak spots are still weak spots
I have a Shogun and I agree, if you aren't actually BASHING, Corally makes terrific cars. But if you need it to fly into walls and land literal 40 feet drops directly onto the nose/wheels/etc...get a Sledge.

Lol this thing couldn't withstand a light breeze compared to pretty much every other RC he's ever featured. For an expensive kit, a bit disappointing the lack of ergonomics and durability.

That drive shaft bent out of fear. It knew what was coming.
You guys gotta remember Kev breaks literally everything - Maxx, X-Maxx, Kraton EXB, all of it. So its a tiny bit disappointing out of the box. Bummer, thought we had an alternative to the Kraton EXB for a minute there. To be honest, Kevs landings did make it a but unfair to the truck, especially smashing the edge of that ramp - oof thats extremely rough, but no matter. With the popularity of this truck growing, alot of us think that M2C Racing will develop a 4mm 7075-T6 chassis for it. With the chassis being the backbone it should reinforce the whole truck enough to take a massive beating without any other mods, so lets hope he comes through on that 👍🤜.
We have all seen an RC get punished hard but the comedy you bring to it KEv is just GOLD! RIP TC

You need to take the Sledge to that Skate Park to make it fair.
We will see what kind of hop ups come out for the sledge. The exb has loads now and that makes it number one in my books too. But let’s see if that changes in a year from now
Ay tomley! 😎 I definitely agree. The exb is superior with the 7075 chassis, shock towers, and chassis braces. Imagine if the sledge had those similar parts out the box 🤔
The Sledge completely stock is a vastly tougher car than the "7075" junk alloy that the EXB comes with. I don't know where Arrma sources their 7075, but it's such a mediocre alloy that it's only a wee bit better than most 6061 stuff.
If you're buying an EXB, you better buy either a real 7075 chassis or that brace Kevin has. You're going to have a bent chassis and a bad time, otherwise. Also, buy yourself some spare shock shafts, bulkheads, and tie-rod ends. You're going to break all of those pretty often on the EXB.
EXB without aftermarket upgrades held up better than the Sledge, so I guess it will come down to cost at the end of the day
@@TomleyRCwhat held better? We all know the EXB problems. Lost dogbones, braking cups, play in diffs, cheap screws, loosing wheel nuts, braeking shock mounts and the most annoying one, breaking wing mount... that's just to much for me. Traxxas have overall a better quality than Arrma, even Arrmas stickers dont stick :D so I hope that Sledge will be better, to make Arrma just a kick in the butt for a push to make them EXB2 without all that quality/bad design things :D

Kevin I love your show it's taught me a lot. But! You say how the 7075 chassis bends on your other cars. But look at what you do to them Kevin?!!! Knowone drives there rc cars to that extreme, plus these cars are expensive and we don't have the money to just replace parts after we"go to the moon"! Your not careful with the cars, we have to be. Please consider that as facts and not the company making unreliable rc cars all time, it's you Kevin more than the failures of the company to put out a decent product. I love your show dude!! Same here. I was into it from 10 to 17 when I got a real car and a girlfriend lol. Now 13 years later I'm getting back into it. Getting too old to ride dirt bikes, don't heal up like I used to. Might get a SXS though but damn expensive. Until then a couple RCs and a 5th scale 2 stroke gas one will be fun enough!

Man Kevin u put the new sledge thru worst run. An it out did the arrma. I was running my Mojave exhaust. An broke the front bumper from underneath. I'm guessing a bad landing no problem just ordered another one. Keep up the video s brother

I have a question for you: do you modify any of the shocks on the bashers you run, or just run them bone stock? I'm specifically interested in ones on the Kraton 6S's, since that's what I have here.
Started doing some higher jumps lately (still learning aerial control to prevent lawndarts), and noticed that even a moderate send often results in full chassis-slap against the ground upon landing. Figured doing some shocks modifications might help there. What's your take?

definitely a good idea to do some shock tuning if you're chassis slapping a lot. I would just put in thicker shock oil, maybe add preload depending on if you still want stock handling or not.

What about the shocks tuning pistons that come with the Kraton, what would be the uses for them?
Usually leave it stock and let it slap. You can stiffen the shocks but then you can start killing arms, towers, shocks, bulkheads etc
If you do big jumps the chassi will slap against the ground no matter what. You can try to adjust the shocks but if you make them too stiff you will start breaking or bending stuff.

Funnily enough, chassis bendage is real! Mine's already slightly bowed up in the middle (which is weird, I kinda would expect it to bend downwards). Not much, but the "talbot test" definitely reveals it.

Tip: an easy way to set the gear mesh is to put a piece of paper between the spur and pinion gear and ram it up to the paper and gear mesh set! Love the vid, keep up the great work!

Suppose what you also have to condsider is that its dirt cheap when comapred to the Sledge and for some of us this would be the better option. Yes it may cost more in the long run, but is you stick to only upgrading when things break then for the money this looks a great option.

Whenever I strip out a screw I pound a torx bit in the hole and they always come out! Way easier than drilling

the trick to getting stripped screws out of rcs is to use a rotary tool with a little cutting disk kiss a little slot in the screw and get it out with a flat head

The pillow ball is more for racing with high traction and if anyone have problems like what kevin talk about the pinion gear screw use nitro cleaner and microfiber tower to get the residue off and apply blue loctite and your set

I love my punisher from team corally but everything seems to bend and break easily tiny screws get lost because of no loctite and the ball bearing for the wheels pop out all the time

Traxxas all day everyday. For the price and durability you just can't beat Traxxas. I would love if someone could prove me wrong.

Word of advice. Check availability of the spare parts. You'll definitely break stuff and you're gunna be upset if parts are rare/expensive. Personally I'd pick the traxxas, they have replacement parts for every car they've ever made and most can be bought in-store to keep you bashing.
