Hi. A classmate recommended this laptop for school. I currently use a Mac Book Pro but need a PC for Architecture school-for programs like Revit, Rhino, Lumion, GIS etc. Costco has this for about $1700 and I am on a budget. What are your thoughts? It’s still a glossy screen but has a coating similar to the macs coating. It defuses some of the light shining on the screen. The screen is bright so as long as you are not in direct bright sunlight it will be good
I get about 14-16 hours of SOT watching YT on Safari on my MB Air M2, and the M3 Air is likely even better when it arrives in March. Samsung has OLED, which is great for SDR, but the Air display is excellent, and the extra battery life, better keyboard and trackpad, and similar price make the Air the first choice for me (although not the direct comparison). I had the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 5G 16-inch base, but at £2050 for 8GB/256GB/i5/no dGPU, it was way overpriced on launch. They are more generous this year with a price of £1999 but no 5G, instead 16GB/1TB/i7. Still at the premium end of ultrabooks. However, prices for Windows premium laptops are no longer the cheaper alternative to Macs, so Dell and HP are all now costly compared to five years ago. The insistence on a numpad also worsened my productivity, as I have spent 40 years using none, and it became very frustrating to teach this old dog new tricks. I would choose a Dell over this, even though I am not sold on their new design.
120hz display will always win. It’s just nicer in day to day. I’ll give you the battery life and trackpad. But have you used a Windows laptop with a haptic touchpad? They’re getting REALLY close. The keyboard I have to disagree. I think Mac keyboards are terrible now. Too little travel and they wear way too quickly now. 6 months and they’re already worn. The battery life is getting better with the new Intel CPUs. This laptop just doesn’t seem to be pulling it off. The new Spectre gets like double this. I’m still sticking with my Mac for now because it’s still good, but I’m happy they’re finally starting to do better on the Windows side.
@@Thatbeardedguy86 I agree that Windows laptops are slowly improving, from speakers to trackpads, but I still like something other than W11. Also, my current Windows laptop, Galaxy Book3 Pro 16-inch, has issues with standby. After 24 hours, it hibernates; when it awakes, it takes ages to get back on wifi. My MB Air M2 can be left for days, and when I open it, it's ready in a split second. The little things like this make the Macs greater than the sum of their parts.
@@andyH_England oh don’t get me started on the damn fiasco that is Windows standby and their removal of S3 sleep years ago. I STILL get salty about that and why I refuse to own a Windows laptop still. I use Windows for work, and at home I have a MacBook and an older laptop with Linux. Even the 6 year old Linux system keeps battery longer than the Windows. But I’m hopeful one day they’ll catch up somewhat and provide some better competition. I think the Mac is a nice piece of hardware, just not a big fan of Apple business practices.
what does "Windows premium laptops" even means? you meant like ultrabook? because a normal windows laptop like lenovo legion pro 7i gen 9 is beating Mac M3 in term of pricing by a lot for similar specs. But the gap get wider the more you upgrades Mac, Apple has insane ladder pricing and windows laptop goes on sales every other days lmao so I really don't get why you say this: "Windows premium laptops are no longer the cheaper alternative to Macs" EDIT: before you label me as windows lover, no I daily drive Pro M2 I like the portability, the battery life and screen, but I'm not gonna pretend that Mac is still a great cheaper alternative laptop like it was during the time M1 was released.

Complimenti, saluti dall'Italia
if i recall correctly there is an empty m.2 nvme SSD slot on the motherboard. i've done my research and this is additional slot is available on the 14 inch model(because i am interested on buying it) but i think if it is available on the 14 it should be on this one
A hyper premium device like this needs a more detailed review I think. Fan noise isnt there (sound pitch, idle, balanced, performance, silent mode etc) you dont mention the limited 16gb ram which has no 32gb option unless you go for the most expensive Ultra version. And that is the ONLY one. Anyone doing some serious work would need the extra RAM on windows especially. I doubt this thing can run linux hassle free as well. Otherwise, nice video but needs improvement. Performance charts need more details and comparisons, temperatures and fan noise etc. Take a look at Just Josh as an example or Matthew Moniz, Andrew Marc David etc.
Thanks for the feedback. I am working on the 360 version now so I will try and make that more detailed using the points you provided. The graphs is something I really want to improve so will definitely work on that for sure!

The EU would make USBC charging for laptops compulsory, but they delayed it for a couple of years until 240-watt charging was established. They researched that proprietary chargers are environmentally unsound and blight with no benefit. They have asked OEMs to kill them ASAP.

My screen stress cracked at both hinges after a month. There are plenty of videos on TH-cam and posts on the samsung community about the screens cracking for no reason since pro book 2. I'd think twice about buying one for sure. Even if you prove the laptop us undamaged. It won't be covered under warranty and you'll have to fork out another £500 Such a shame cos it's a great laptop let down by sub par screen quality and poor customer service
-- You have the *360* model, right? - There have not been many complaints about the standard model shown in this video. - It does not have two hinges, just one long hinge.
I am struggling to get hold of the G16 in the UK atm :( I also don't like that the 4060 and 4070 model have a tiny 3rd fan which is supposed to sound quite annoying. If I get one I will get the vapour chamber 4080/4090 without that 3rd fan
This shouldn't be priced more than 800$ because people can purchase much more capable and efficient macbook air at this price point. This laptop doesn't even last half as much as a macbook air regarding battery life..
I would find it hard to believe that someone looking into this laptop also owns an iPhone. It's more likely they have an Samsung phone and therefore wouldn't consider the MacBook as a competitor and out of the scope of product they are looking for
Oh here i saw one more ISHEEP 😂😂 he clearly said it lasts 8 and a half hour screen on time amd MacBook Last a bit longer from 10 to 12 so shut of mouth up 😂
Why does Samsung continue to force the numpad? Seriously, it's cramped as hell, why bother. It should only be on 17.3-18 inch devices aka desktop replacements anyway.
I suppose it is quite similar. Though I do like we still get a USBA port and I wonder if this years XPS screen will be as good? (I have a XPS 14 and 16 OLED on order!)
It’s an oled screen, they all unfortunately have pwm flickering. At least this one is at a high enough frequency it doesn’t give me a headache like a lot of the 250hz pwm screens
What a trash review, this laptop is overpriced garbage, it costs almost 2k, but still can't beat in performance and battery life m1 from 2020. Don't buy this laptop, save your money.
That God damn useless and ugly number pad forcing people to slant to the left when typing, why Samsung? I would have bought this in a heartbeat if it doesn't come with the number pad, ended up going for the Dell XPS 16 inch which does NOT have a number pad
Samsung skimmed on the battery size to make the laptop lighter. If they would have used a 99.9 watt hour battery it would have easily lasted over 10 hours.

But the gap get wider the more you upgrades Mac, Apple has insane ladder pricing and windows laptop goes on sales every other days lmao so I really don't get why you say this: "Windows premium laptops are no longer the cheaper alternative to Macs"
EDIT: before you label me as windows lover, no I daily drive Pro M2 I like the portability, the battery life and screen, but I'm not gonna pretend that Mac is still a great cheaper alternative laptop like it was during the time M1 was released.
i was considering getting the Ultra, but went with with the LG Gram instead
looking forward to seeing the gram!
Exelente review!, lamento que ninguna marca se preocupe por lograr mejor duración de batería (excepto mac) algo que entiendo es fundamental en Notebooks.
thanks you. sadly that is true, hoping that the new windows ARM laptops coming will improve this situation
I still can't understand how laptop manufacturers limit devices to 16GB RAM in 2024...
Budget
There's a 32 gb option
Some people don't play games, and some people don't code or video edit
@@eciv2006Not outside of Korea. At least it's not available in the US. There is only a 32gb model of the Book 4 Ultra with the Nvidia 4070. Everything else is 16gb.
Same with Asus Zenbook , 20 Vcores and 16Gb soldered RAM.
Architect while building must be high on weed.
"feels like a macbook" is not a compliment for the keyboard. That is part of the reason i chose the Gram. The LG Gram keyboard isn't the best, but not bad for how thin and light it is
The new MacBook keyboards are great though.
The old MB keyboards were not good, but the latest are some of the best.
@@ArthropodSpideynah they’re not. The typing feels eh and they wear super fast now. The older Magic Keyboard and Macs had the most amazing keyboards. Miss those ones.
clearly controversial 🤣
bro can U compare it with the MACbook AIR 15 BY THE WAY NICE VIDEO BETTER THAN THE REST OF ITS KIND PLEASE DO THE COMPARISON AS NO ONE HAS DONE IT YET LOVE FROM INDIA
Hey I just purchased one in Indian( 512 GB SSD AND 16 GB RAM VERSION ), I wanted to ask I ADD 1GD SSD TO IT IS IT EXPANDABLE ?
How's is it? I am planning to buy one. Are there any major issue you have encountered like heating or anything else?
Same price range, suggest me a laptop with great display and decent power for occasional gaming.
Hey, just wonder about the level of fan noise.
“If” these Samsung, Assus, Lenovo, etc., could stand on their own they would not be hijacking Apple naming and design schemes.
Is the touchpad haptic tho?
sadly not :(
@@MashITTech thank you for the response
Though this is touch screen, I heard you can't use like s-pen or any other pen to write on it?
correct. I have both the 360 and the standard so I tested the 360 pen on it and it didn't work.
Complimenti, saluti dall'Italia
Come ti trovi ora vorrei prendere il book4 pro lho trovato a 1200 cpn 16gb e i7ultra
SSD is expandable or not?
if i recall correctly there is an empty m.2 nvme SSD slot on the motherboard. i've done my research and this is additional slot is available on the 14 inch model(because i am interested on buying it) but i think if it is available on the 14 it should be on this one
Is the RAM and HD upgradable?
There's a 32 gb option
@@eciv2006Only on the Ultra model.
@@MarkWill890 yes I know. I was letting the guy that was asking the question know there was a larger option.
@@MashITTech keep it up dude, its a proven format so I dont think you have to reinvent the wheel, I suggest making some templates with data and adding more laptop data to that as your pool grows!
Have they the possibility of expanding the RAM memory from 16 to 32 GB ?
no, with these core ultra CPU ram is now part of th CPU die so you cannot upgrade it. Sadly Samsung only offer 32gb with the highest end ultra model :(
no.....Here in India Book 4 pro is available in 32 gb with 1tb storage@@MashITTech
audio jack on the right side is a deal breaker. Cord gets in way of mouse. should be on the left side. massive loss
usbC dedicated charging on anything bigger than a tablet is pretty stupid, but I see why they do it
can I ask why you say that? they are actually moving the USBC charging to 240w soon so I think we will be seeing it in eve more laptops soon
The EU would make USBC charging for laptops compulsory, but they delayed it for a couple of years until 240-watt charging was established. They researched that proprietary chargers are environmentally unsound and blight with no benefit. They have asked OEMs to kill them ASAP.
Dude samsung with the power of galaxy ai is awesome .
Intel core ultra❤ with ai and google ai ❤software has made galaxy ecosystem ai king for the whole 2024 ❤
Why upgrade from book 3 pro? Seems no point??
If you bought a book3 then I agree this really isn’t a meaningful upgrade, just a yearly incremental (which most laptops seem to be this year) I was hoping the new core ultra would give us much better battery with all intels hype but as usual they are still miles behind apple silicon
waiting for you to update Razer 16 2024 review.
can i use spen of pro 360 or 360???
No, although it is a touch screen the pen doesn’t work, I tired the pen from my book4 pro 360 I am currently working on
ok.....I choose Book 4 pro instead of 360 pro, only for that ssd additional Slot....I have ssd 980 pro 2TB, Sacrificed Spen and 360 degree Rotation@@MashITTech
Spen is not a good deal compared to additional Slot
of course after I get the book 3 ultra -- these are released lol
lol that is always the way. if you got the 3 you are not missing much :)
Hi sir iam confused to buy a galaxy book 2 pro or 3 pro? What should I go for pls help me.
It is a shame that Samsung does not offer 32 Gb y 1 Tb disc and the worst thing is: In Spain the technical service of Samsung does not know
My screen stress cracked at both hinges after a month. There are plenty of videos on TH-cam and posts on the samsung community about the screens cracking for no reason since pro book 2.
I'd think twice about buying one for sure. Even if you prove the laptop us undamaged. It won't be covered under warranty and you'll have to fork out another £500
Such a shame cos it's a great laptop let down by sub par screen quality and poor customer service
-- You have the *360* model, right? - There have not been many complaints about the standard model shown in this video. - It does not have two hinges, just one long hinge.
Get zephyrus g16 for 1900 ..better display..overwhelmingly better specs.. just under 1.8kg
I am struggling to get hold of the G16 in the UK atm :( I also don't like that the 4060 and 4070 model have a tiny 3rd fan which is supposed to sound quite annoying. If I get one I will get the vapour chamber 4080/4090 without that 3rd fan
Yeah but my laptop shows the color pink by my charge port.
dont like the trackpad position
The 14” version with no numberpad has a centred position which may be more preferable
need a 16 tho@@MashITTech
This shouldn't be priced more than 800$ because people can purchase much more capable and efficient macbook air at this price point. This laptop doesn't even last half as much as a macbook air regarding battery life..
I would find it hard to believe that someone looking into this laptop also owns an iPhone. It's more likely they have an Samsung phone and therefore wouldn't consider the MacBook as a competitor and out of the scope of product they are looking for
I got my Book 3 360 for 400 bucks with trade in so at that price.point its a steal
Oh here i saw one more ISHEEP 😂😂 he clearly said it lasts 8 and a half hour screen on time amd MacBook Last a bit longer from 10 to 12 so shut of mouth up 😂
@@STUDY01911How are you any better than the "ISHEEP" Samsung don't know you lil bro get off their dick
Yes!! I have the similar thoughts 🤔
Why does Samsung continue to force the numpad? Seriously, it's cramped as hell, why bother. It should only be on 17.3-18 inch devices aka desktop replacements anyway.
Yeh, or they can do what asus did and put the num par into the touchpad.
It seems...this laptop even can't raise with one handed 💀
Not easily, it slips on my desk and is very light.
Bit pricey though
true, sure we will see some offers/discounts soon
MicroSD makes no sense on a laptop
none at all! there was plenty of space for a full sized reader.
Samsung is planning to reproduce micro Sd Cards in Market.
looks just like an xps
I suppose it is quite similar. Though I do like we still get a USBA port and I wonder if this years XPS screen will be as good? (I have a XPS 14 and 16 OLED on order!)
Sounds more like an advert.
16gb option only? Waste of money.
There's a 32 gb option
The keyboard looks disappointing.
Micro SD is a huge fail and useless for photographers!
Agreed and they could easily have put a full sized sd card on the 16”
@@MashITTech I'm so tired of seeing laptops with micro SD slots. I want a new laptop but everything these days is micro. Inexcusable imho.
Most overprice windows laptop
Can you please donate me this laptop 🥺😭 I'll be forever grateful
Dont get me wrong but its well overpriced..
totally agree but most laptops are this year
not coming cheap
Nope, pretty expensive atm but I am sure we will see some deals soon
3 seconds in and I can see the screen flickering….
So it’s not the review, but the laptop? Bot
😂
That God damn useless and ugly number pad forcing people to slant to the left when typing, why Samsung? I would have bought this in a heartbeat if it doesn't come with the number pad, ended up going for the Dell XPS 16 inch which does NOT have a number pad
The offset trackpad is 🤮
So. Do you want to say it isn't possible to draw by stylus on it's screen?
Samsung skimmed on the battery size to make the laptop lighter. If they would have used a 99.9 watt hour battery it would have easily lasted over 10 hours.
