Oh Estée, I'm really connecting with you on this one. I ended a 6 year relationship a couple of months ago and it's been so hard to get to a happy place and motivated. My ex-boyfriend also kept our dog and I feel like there's a hole in my heart that will never heal.. When I tell people I feel this way the first thing they say is ' Go for a walk, exercise! ' and I really want to kill them... so I totally understand your struggle. I'm proud you went to that class!
I get that it’s annoying when people give you advice but it’s coming from a. Good place and if a lot of people say it I think there must be some truth in it, hope you feel better!
Dude so this year I started doing Zumba (an aerobic activity) and it has definitely helped my mental health along with some dietary changes. Getting your heart rate up is so important 💛
I love Zumba too for mental and physical health. I went through a rough time after a relationship breakup and job loss, going to Zumba brought me so much happiness during a dark time. Must be the endorphins
Totally hear you on the "are you exercising" question!! I have the same internal reaction as you! It's been 5 years for me so I am having a hard time getting started up again. But I know it will help me feel better overall, mentally and healthwise. We can do it!
Ugh I always feel like you speak the things I need to hear rn. I need to get some cardio in help with terrible anxiety rn and not just meditation and yoga. Thank you for this! Always love your videos
First of all, I've been following you for years and I love watching you grow and I absolutely love all of you content! I would really like it if you would show us your yoga/workout routines even if you get them from other places.
I agree with you about getting your heart rate up! Unfortunately, every time I do cardio and my heart rate gets higher, I start having a panic attack so I generally just don’t do anything. It’s a struggle I’m still trying to work through 😕 I’m so happy to see you getting it done though! You go girl! 👏
I love your vlogs and how you’re growing into such an amazing woman. Every time you do a streak of daily vlogs, I get hooked on you again. I’ve been around for a long time and you’re the most genuine soul I have found on youtube. I truly feel connected to you, as odd as that sounds. Keep doin your thang girl😁✌🏼
Cardio is changing my life, especially running. One day in July I came back from work after the shittiest day ever and I went out for a run without even thinking about it. I had never run before 😅 ended up doing 4km and despite hating every second of it, the feeling you get when you're done is priceless. I have been running 3-4 days a week since then and it helps me a lot with keeping my moods balanced.
The addition of cardio has helped my anxiety immensely and it's one of those things you don't even realize until you look back on your week and you're like "wow I didn't feel so panicked this week". I was doing solely yoga for the past few months and wasn't feeling as great as I thought I would, and I finally decided I needed to get my heart rate up more. I bought a spin bike at a discount and even just doing 30 minutes every day has changed my mental health. I can't wait to hear how you feel!
Same about everything about mood and exercise, esp how annoying it is when asked if you are exercising 😅 it can be hard to do the easy thing, let alone the hard thing. Also, halloween movies - Hocus Pocus is of course a classic 🎃
FAB! The new book she wrote is also really good! I didn't like the actual book practical magic as much because I saw the movie first but the prequel that came out this year 'The Rules of Magic' was amazing!
Oh Estée, completely 100% empathise with the inability to do anything too physical when you're not in your best place mentally. Well done you! xx PS Please put your mascaras in with your eyeliners #OCD!!
I feel you on this! I think sometimes it’s the mental tiredness and not even your body that often lets you rest instead of go to the gym. It’s also important for rest but listen to your body for sure :-) we are built for movement! Although I’m writing this sat on the couch eating kettle chips....
YES to everything you said in the beginning of this video! It's such a negative cycle; of course you don't feel like exercising because you're down, but the only thing sometimes that helps is exercise, but the less you exercise the further you slip down in the hole...it's so frustrating. I've found the only thing that helps me to eventually get out of those periods in my life is either a. time or b. getting so sick of myself that I go to the gym just because I literally can't take it one more second.
Definitely relate to the exercise vs. mental state. Had a really rough last year after my Dad passed. I actually had to avoid some of the fitness Insta and TH-cam channels because it was just so not what I wanted to see. And would make me feel even worse for not having the energy to do anything. I had to accept that it is ok to give yourself a pass for awhile sometimes.
110% can relate. Drives me nuts lol. No, I haven’t exercised. I’ve been too busy trying not to sink into the black hole that is currently my brain. That is all the energy I currently have to give. It’s a vicious cycle. 🤦🏻♀️
You are and always have been my favourite youtuber. Still til this day, since however many years! You could be vlogging a day of just taking out the trash and watering your plants and I'd still watch from beginning to end hahaha.
I was a kid in 1982, The Dark Crystal is one of my favorite movies from childhood, I own it on dvd! Favorite Halloween movies are, all of the Halloweentown movies, The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, & Casper!
I often work out in the evening after work and fall asleep on the couch after! Recently I'm falling asleep less which hopefully means my body is adjusting! I'd just say strength training is just as important as cardio. Women can get strong too!
Estee, don't you be ashamed of that nap you took! I have thyroid problems and depression and I take a nap most days (I work from home too). It took me so, so long not to feel guilty and ashamed of my naps but now I just count them as part of my day. And also....I feel ya on the cardio. I'm a beast with the strength training but cardio is nowhere to be seen! You've inspired me to take a cardio class though. Sending love to you x
I used to make excuses for not going to the gym until I worked 12 hour shifts for 6 days and I pushed myself to the gym for 3-4 times a week, now I realise it was just mental tiredness that I could overcome and I did have it in me to exercise no matter how tired I thought I was
Love the Dark Crystal! Also Labyrinth with David Bowie is also directed by Jim Henson and it is A+++, as for other awesome Halloween movies: Beetlejuice, Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas (yes I know people will debate me on this but I firmly believe you can watch this movie anytime from Halloween to New Years and it's fine LOL) , The Addams Family, Practical Magic, and Casper!
You should watch "The Labyrinth" from 1986: David Bowie as the Goblin King, a very young Jennifer Connelly and loads of Jim Henson's amazing puppets 😁 I have loved that movie since I was a kid 😄
Unnie Knutsen , that ones another good one from childhood! The Secret Of Nimph, I think i may have misspelled the last word of that movie! 80’s movies are so good!!!
Hello,Estee!🌿 I’m your big of your fan from Turkey✌🏻Last year i changed my job i am mechanical eng btw and i got 7 kilos . Now , i am not overthink about it and i just move on and i can understand all you said. Love u and your daisy collection is amazing .im so in love every piece of them i wish , i cloud buy so sad story.Anyway , you are my every day routine and go girl you can do whatever you want💪🏼💕
‘Practical Magic’ is my absolute favorite fall/Halloween movie. It’s so cheesy and so cozy (what’s better than fall in New England?) and just so good. And the cast is 👌🏻. 100% recommend.
Cardio is a GAME CHANGER for me. I hated it but I’ve been trying to lose a few pounds and I signed up for a Orange Theory class (I don’t know if you have it in the UK) it’s basically HIIT. Let me tell you, I have started to love cardio because it really boosts my mood and confidence. And as an extra reward I have lost some weight 🥰
My favourite Halloween non scary film, just favourite film full spot is practically magic love it so much and the 90s music takes me back to my childhood it’s great 👍🏻 xxxx
I love The Dark Crystal! I even own it on DVD. In terms of Halloween movies, you might like Cabin in the Woods (it's a satire of traditional horror movies, so kind of scary but also really funny), and Hocus Pocus is a classic Halloween movie.
Haha I feel the same when I feel down and my got friends tell me to exercise more. I do love spin class but I’m defo a yoga girl. I love yin yoga but it can take you to a place you are not ready for sometimes. So relief to hear I’m not the only one Estee.
Your cardio plans sound really good! But just wanted to say: Respect for meditating and doing slow yoga when you feel depressed. That is already so strong and so much better than staying in bed! I recently read a lot of books and articles about situations like that and many yogis and coaches think it's the right thing to go into the pain and really feel and recognize it by sitting down and meditating.. rather than distracting yourself by cardio/partying/what ever. Not sure if I agree with that, I think everybody should find their own way. Anyhow thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, they are really important and you are so inspiring. I LOVE vlogtober
“Hokus Pokus” is my all time favourite spoopy/not mentally scarring Halloween film. There’s also “Bedknobs and Broomsticks”, which isn’t necessarily a Halloween film, but still magical and cute. And of course the entire “Harry Potter” series. Always. Those are the cute ones. “Let the Right One In” (the Swedish original version) is a great place in between scary and sweet and grown up. Not the best for super sensitive days, because it does grab you by your inner child emotions and doesn’t let go, but I still recommend it wholeheartedly.
Oh man The Dark Crystal was my FAVOURITE movie as a kid, I absolutely wore out my VHS. Easily watched it hundreds of times, my sister and I still quote it regularly haha. For Halloween I love Hocus Pocus of course, and actually ParaNorman(it's animated so not scary, but great fall/Halloween vibe). Also The Conjuring 1+2 are great ones, a little on the scary side but I like the story and the main actors a lot.
Sounds like something we have here in the US called Orange Theory. I was doing it for a few years but just quit on my 72nd birthday. It really made me feel great when I left the classes, keep up the good work!
Oh, Estée! One of my faves for Hallowe'en movies is Ghost Story. It's an 80s movie starring Fred Astaire and, although some of the special effects look a bit cheesy now, it is so spooky! The same for The Changeling, another now-ancient classic. Neither of these movies are gory etc, but are psychologically chilling, without being too disturbing because of their date of release. Also, I'm right with you with that exercise thing. It's so hard to exercise when anxiety and depression hit, mostly because I get paranoid about people looking at me, but it makes me feel soooooo much better xox
I loved the Dark Crystal when I was little. Favorite Halloween movie would have to be Practical Magic (which isn’t even Halloween) OR Nightmare Before Christmas (also not that Halloween-y)
Weight training is the most important if you want to burn more calories while sedentary, stay toned, keep bones strong and thick, avoid osteoporosis, and be able to move well when you’re old. The elderly that can’t get up from the chair or toilet and shuffle around is because they did not maintain muscle mass. People can be thin but flabby without weight training. Every decade we lose a percentage of muscle Too much emphasis is put on cardio.
off-topic, but i love this vlogtober because i get to see all the daisy pieces in motion on you and choose my faves to buy! planning to buy thea huggie hoops and thea ear cuff once it's back in stock hehe
I have chronic depression and neurosis and I hear all the time that I should exercise a lot and I know it helps, but when I come home after work all I wanna do is sleep. That's so hard.

I LOOOOOVVVEEEE the dark crystal, both the original film and the new series. They are perfect fantasy to me. Also The Woman in Black is a great film for halloween, creepy not gory or horrible.
I work in independent film, and of my favorite movies to watch in October is The Love Witch directed by Anna Biller. It has feminist themes with sexy and campy 60's style visuals. Its also currently streaming for free on Amazon prime
My daughter is your age and she absolutely loves the original Dark Crystal and also loves the new one. A really good Halloween movie that is for kids but also good for adults who don’t like too scary is The Witches, with Angelica Houston as the head witch. It’s really good!
Bahaha the rant about people asking if you’re exercising when you’re depressed is so spot on!!
Oh Estée, I'm really connecting with you on this one. I ended a 6 year relationship a couple of months ago and it's been so hard to get to a happy place and motivated. "I look like I'm from the 18th century" OMG not sure why but I just lost it when you said that! 😂 😂 😂
LOL!
I feel you Estée...I hate when people ask me if I’m working out to get out my depression and it’s like I can’t even get out of bed let alone work out.
Exactly
Omg the blurb about cardio for depression is so so relatable. I don’t exercise at all and I know it would help me. Thank you for the motivation!
I feel the same about workout and depressed, you make me smile thank! love u
I'd love to see a tour of your lipstick collection, you always have the best lipstick shades on
Dude so this year I started doing Zumba (an aerobic activity) and it has definitely helped my mental health along with some dietary changes. Getting your heart rate up is so important 💛

Totally hear you on the "are you exercising" question!! I have the same internal reaction as you! It's been 5 years for me so I am having a hard time getting started up again. But I know it will help me feel better overall, mentally and healthwise. We can do it!

Working out is important to mental health, but so is restitution and sleep. Don’t feel bad for listening to your body’s needs.
We lost our little cat this weekend and even though I’m absolutely heartbroken, this made me smile! Thanks :)
Aww sending loads of love x
I'm Very sorry for your loss . Take care 😥 xxx
Lost my Bella girl in August , I know how you are feeling. So sorry.
patricia inverso thank you! I’m sorry about Belle xx
Alison Jones thank you!xx
With my anxiety some days I can barely function but I agree cardio helps.

I will always love the Dark Crystal 💎💎💎

And you've motivated me to get on my cardio💜 I do my pilates and yoga but I've been slacking on cardio so thank you☺
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch on Netflix is fun.
Will check it out!

You should watch "The Labyrinth" from 1986: David Bowie as the Goblin King, a very young Jennifer Connelly and loads of Jim Henson's amazing puppets 😁 I have loved that movie since I was a kid 😄

My sisters and I used to be OBSESSED with the dark crystal hahahah it’s so funny seeing it now but man, had it on repeat on the good ol vcr 😄
I don’t like people telling me what to do EVER. So I can relate!
Julie Long ugh same
My go to halloween watch is Over the Garden Wall! It’s a short series, and it just perfectly captures the essence of fall to me!
Blooming forward to the haul!
Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride are my go to halloween/autumn/winter watches
Oh man The Dark Crystal was my FAVOURITE movie as a kid, I absolutely wore out my VHS. Easily watched it hundreds of times, my sister and I still quote it regularly haha. Hocus Pocus!!!! Always a classic Halloween movie
Please do a new what’s in my bag video with the purse you are currently loving for the fall.. thank you!!!!!😁

Best Halloween movies to watch:
- Scream
- Practical Magic
- The Craft

- Tower of Terror
working out gives you energy and it shows you how much more resistant your body is than you think
My fave Halloween movie is Practical Magic!
I loved the Dark Crystal when I was little. Favorite Halloween movie would have to be Practical Magic (which isn’t even Halloween) OR Nightmare Before Christmas (also not that Halloween-y)

Greetings from Waterloo!!
Halloween wouldn't be Halloween without watching Hocus Pocus!!🎃👻
My daughter is your age and she absolutely loves the original Dark Crystal and also loves the new one.
A really good Halloween movie that is for kids but also good for adults who don’t like too scary is The Witches, with Angelica Houston as the head witch. It’s really good!
My sister just recommended the movie and series The Dark Crystal to me! I'll definitely watch it soon.
🙌
