Hey synth friends!
In this performance/rehearsal video I'm using several tracks of the Keystep Pro to drive a few of my synths and drum machines. Minibrute 2s does the bass via CV, Microfreak for the 4 notes chords, the SE-02 makes a good lead machine and the pedals, as always bring space and modulations. Tho' the sound is a bit muddy and harsh at some point when the arpeggio comes in, as noticed on the video, no mixing action, no eq, it's straight from the machines to the recorder! That said, I hope you'll enjoy the viewing, this new STEP member is probably my favorite from the sibling. Very well done Arturia.

Do the notes record properly tho guys? When I chain patterns together and then live record (with quantise off) the notes dont record properly, with wrong gates being the main issue...

hi, great video. so you are only cv gate tempo syncing the drumbrute but not really triggering the drums from the keysteo pro?
you can't, the dbi has no trig input, i do that with midi
Hi, nice jam! Could the drum machne be directly conrolled as a ’fifth track’ and give the ksp its clock (sync)? So that ksp could sequence four synths, instead of three plus a drum track?
Hello thanks for your kind words. Sure it can it works both ways. You need a mini trs so that the clock in receive clock AND start stop, that's dope!
Hello! Nice video and cool synths and sounds! So, you chained the patterns for chords before recording them? As I understand it means you can chain empty patterns and then record a sequence in one take to both patterns?

Hey great vid! How do you avoid triggering all the internal sequencers when you start the keystep pro? I have a similar set up with the SE-02 and Minilogue and whenever I start the keystep’s sequencer it triggers the others which is annoying!
Hi thanks for your question The only way is to mute the sequence
@@Audiorial thanks! I’ve realised it doesn’t launch if you set clocks to internal but then you lose the other benefits of tempo syncing LFOs etc

Hi, nice video. Does anyone know if I can use the MIDI IN to connect a pad controller just to control modular drum voices using the gate outs and sequencer of the Keystep Pro? Specifically could I connect my Roland SP303 to do this?

Hi, is it possible to control and program single drums when the drum machine is connected via midi? Or do i have to program the drum pattern on my drum machine (e.g. behringer rd8)?
hi! thanks for your input, yes you can etheir play or program a drum pattern on the very first sequencer labelled drum, it will transmit on the trig out and the midi out.
Which midi cables are those? They seem really nice, with those metal, Rean connections!
not sure bout the brand but don't buy them, too fragile !
@@Audiorial Oh, now that is surprising and disappointing! I figured they would have been more rugged, being metal/Rean connectors, over the plastic ones! Do you mean they fail and lose connection? Thanks for letting me know!
