I got to kniw that song from Adam Sandler's movie "Reign over me". I thought "oh, a Sandler's movie, nice, I will watch it to have a laugh"... boy I was wrong.
That’s it? Hey, that is the hallmark of a great song! Leaves you wanting more. I saw them perform this song and most all from Who’s Next back when the album debuted. My buddy scored tickets for opening night, of 3 sold out shows at the Boston Music Hall. Three rows from the stage! YO! It was SHOWTIME!! Nothing has matched it. Right in front of Pete Townsend on guitar and Keith Moon and Roger Daltrey. Epic.....
Don't you wish you could go back in time and see all of these groups live? I sure do, it was the only way to see them back then so it was undoable. Thanks for reacting to our favorite music!
I saw The Who earlier this year in a small club near London. I've seen The Who live over 100 times in my life. But on that night earlier this year Roger Daltrey explained that on the day way back when, when they recorded Behind Blue Eyes, Roger's dog got hit by a car and died that day. It explains how emotionally great Roger's vocals were that day as he suffered through the loss of his beloved friend.
The song was supposed to be part of a rock opera (a follow-up to “Tommy”) called “LifeHouse”. This was supposed to be the song sung by the villain to give them more sympathetic light on his actions during the musical. Unfortunately, Pete Townsend was unable to finish the opera and turn the remainder of the songs into “Who’s Next”.
Another great classic all time song. One of my top favorites. Other killer tunes....Love Reigns Ovr Me, Bargain, Magic Bus, You Better You Bet, Eminence Front,, Squeeze Box.....soo many classics. One of my favorite bands. Thanks.
Great song. Some of the whos other best songs (aside the ones youve done) are: Pinball wizard Bargain Love reign oer me Substitute The kids are alright I can see for miles My generation (cant remember if u did this)
It may not sound right given how big The Who are,but Pete is still very underrated for his songwriting genius. The work he put into the synth sounds on primitive equipment is mind blowing. People seem to think because he doesn’t go all Eddie Van Halen he’s not a great guitarist, but he is the ultimate all rounder and we’ll never see one man write so many classics again.
By the way I love what you do here. Most people never listen to stuff outside their comfort zone, you dive right into it. You're an example to us all sir!
Hey, he's learning as he goes along - I give him a lot of credit for being open to all kinds of music and discovering the greats. Remember hearing this for the first time? Imagine how his world is expanding doing these videos.
This is probably my favorite Who song. And my ONLY complaint about it is exactly what you said, I wish it was LONGER! Excellent reaction video my friend. It was a pleasure to watch your enjoyment of a song that played a large part of my growing up in the 70s. Peace ✌
Me personally went to a who concert back in 1989 I even skipped school just to acquire tickets to the concert at Foxboro Stadium in 1989 Foxboro stadium was once the home of the New England Patriots football team!!!
JayVee, it’s so much fun to share the music of our youth with younger folks like yourself who appreciate it. The only downside of growing up with such wonderful songs is that we are now old. But I think it’s worth it! 😁👍
Great you react to The Who, but the best way to know them is watching them playing live, like for instance when they did it in The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus... they blew out the whole building, Jagger and Richards in it included
Pete Townsend was definitely a great guitarist. His lead lines were tasty without being too flashy, his rhythm tones were good and beefy, and he knew how to balance electric with acoustic.
Jayvee, welcome to the wild world of The Who. Pete and the boys know how to lay it down and belt it out. I have MANY follow-up Who suggestions that I will not bore you with, but would like to invite you to listen to anything from Tommy, Quadrophenia and Whos Next, with or without reaction, and let your head dive deep into power chords and your soul discover more beautiful music. Cheers...
Man I know The Who are my favorite band of all time there amazing seen them three times live unfortunately never got to see them with John and Keith but still incredible you should react to the seeker
The Eagles can't polish the shoes of The Who. Such a incredible difference in pure Raw Talent. Can seriously say best rock singer ever with Roger Daltrey and the best drummer ever in Keith Moon and the best bass player John Entwistle rounded out by Pete on the guitar writing all these amazing songs we're listening to that are all 50 years old. Incredible!
Only similarities that the Who have with the Eagles could be the harmonies. If you want a longer Who song, check out Won't get fooled again. It's about 8 mins long or so and has a great scream.
As far as bands go, they couldn’t be more different. Who was British Invasion era with elements of rock and blues and in the early years maybe even some r and b. Eagles started off as a country rock based band who went and became album oriented rock. I have been a fan of both bands for a number of years.
Great choice! "Who's Next" is one of my top 10 albums of all time (most of the others are Pink Floyd lol). I think you've reacted to a couple of others from that album, all the songs are great. Also worth a listen is one of their earlier albums "The Who Sell Out" which has a commercial / advertising theme and includes their hit "I Can See For Miles". Thanks Jayvee
I have two more songs for you to react to. " Baba O' Reilly " also known as Teenage Westland. Also, " Whose Are You? " CSI used as there theme song. The lead singer' s name is Roger Daltrey, and the guitarist is Pete Townsend.
I've never heard The Who compared to The Eagles, but that's what's great about getting fresh ears on these songs that are ingrained in a lot of us. You get to experience it differently. After you made the comparison I heard some things that were definitely Eagles-like. Even though this came before them.
Keith Moon on the drums is amazing and very special. I once heard someone describe the band as everyone is basically playing lead so even Keith on the drums is following the melody and adding all these fills etc and going in and out of time. At times he's not even fulfilling the drummers role of keeping time for the band so instead John Entwhistle on the bass was keeping time instead of Keith on the drums.
The harmonies and clear, understandable lyrics are one thing that's missing from today's so called "music". I'd love to see you do some reviews of Heart's songs also. The Ann Wilson's vocal ranges are incredible, as is Nancy Wilsons''guitar playing, plus her great singing. Some of the more obscure bands like Steel Eye Span had some killer songs too. Maddy Prior had an awesome vocal range.
This album is 49 years old. Why is it that The Who , Zepplin , Janis Joplin , Cocker , Queen .....are new to most of you ? Was there no knob to change the radio channel ? React to the Whos' My Generation . That was only 56 years ago. I'm glad that you are finally hearing this great music .
If you like the instrumental side you gotta listen to The Ox by the Who, there are no lyrics but the drummer, guitarist and pianist go absolutely mad.............kinda like a riff off between the three, love that tune!! have fun :))))))
Since you've covered this & shine on you crazy diamond by pink floyd I highly recommend this olden goldie Sam Cooke: Bring it on home to me a brilliant song and I genuinely think you'll love it JV it's from the 60's soul era :D
Lazer Who in the Seattle Lazarium….hi as fuk circa 1985. Hell ya ...laying on the floor up front...fk ya. Good times. there MUST be people who know what an 80's Lazarium is.
Please listen again, and pay attention to the bass guitar. The bassist is widely considered to be the GOAT, John Entwistle. There are a couple of videos with his bass isolated in the song. He's fantastic.
Back then songs were barely 3 to 3 & 1/2 minutes long. In the 70s they started making them longer. The who were a great band. Try baba o'riley or who are you. Both used in CSI NEW YORK N THE ORIGINAL CSI.
"Love Reign Over Me" by The Who is a must!!!
Definitely a must listen!
I got to kniw that song from Adam Sandler's movie "Reign over me". I thought "oh, a Sandler's movie, nice, I will watch it to have a laugh"... boy I was wrong.
Literally my favorite content to watch on TH-cam... a younger generation discovering classic rock and truley talented musicians! Awesome!
That’s it? Hey, that is the hallmark of a great song! Leaves you wanting more. I saw them perform this song and most all from Who’s Next back when the album debuted. Right in front of Pete Townsend on guitar and Keith Moon and Roger Daltrey. Epic.....
Pete Townsend on guitar and Keith Moon on drums, bro!
Keith Moon... a drum wizard!
Hell yeah. One of the best drummers of all times.
and John Entwistle at bass guitar, the best bass player ever :)
Don't you wish you could go back in time and see all of these groups live? I sure do, it was the only way to see them back then so it was undoable. Thanks for reacting to our favorite music!
Great reaction to a truly great song!
Pete Townshend is a genius, his songwriting is incredible. The band was a force of nature, a powerhouse, and one of a kind.
I saw The Who earlier this year in a small club near London. I've seen The Who live over 100 times in my life. But on that night earlier this year Roger Daltrey explained that on the day way back when, when they recorded Behind Blue Eyes, Roger's dog got hit by a car and died that day. The way the drummer (Keith Moon) really Plays this song... and all Who songs... amazing amazing amazing!!
This song is so emotional it hurts
The song was supposed to be part of a rock opera (a follow-up to “Tommy”) called “LifeHouse”. This was supposed to be the
song sung by the villain to give them more sympathetic light on his actions during the musical. Unfortunately, Pete Townsend was unable to finish the opera and turn the remainder of the songs into “Who’s Next”.

I can see for miles is great too.
The Who performed at the original Woodstock. Singer, Roger Daltry; Guitarist/vocals, Pete Townsend; Bass, John Entwistle; Drums, Keith Moon.
Great song. Some of the whos other best songs (aside the ones youve done) are:
Pinball wizard
Bargain
Love reign oer me
Substitute
The kids are alright
I can see for miles
My generation (cant remember if u did this)
The best if the ones ALA listed are 1 - Love reign oer me, 2 - I can see for miles
I would add 5:15 to that list along with Who are you. If you want a little humor in the song have a listen to Real good looking boy
Don't forget Eminence Front, And it would also be a good idea to turn left at Pete Townshend solo and grab some Slit Skirts while you're at it...
Gotta react to "A quick one (rock n roll circus)" man. Keep it up!
@@haziqzaidi Keith Moon has me pissing myself in that
I Can See for Miles,The Seeker,Slipkid
The Who to me is likeZepplin and so many other bands from that time. There is no bad song, they are all great.Keith Moon on drums best drummer ever.
Another great rock band!! Definitely do Love Reign 'Or Me by them.
Another great band! I grew up when these bands [Who, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones] first came out and they have been a source of enjoyment ever since.
Left you wanting more. Great song, thank you for this one! Have a great week!
Yes, Love Reign Oe’r Me for sure It will blow your mind. The amazing Roger Daltry singing💜💜💜🎶🎶🎶
This song always gives me goosebumps....soooo good!
By the way I love what you do here. Most people never listen to stuff outside their comfort zone, you dive right into it. You're an example to us all sir!
The songs are awesome as they always have been but your reactions are priceless! Love watching you grow up in music. Keep it up man
"whoever that drummer and that guitarist is"... I died a little inside.
*chuckle*
I feel your pain.
Peace ✌

The entire Who's Next album is a masterpiece. The Who and The Beach Boys are my two favorite bands of all time (VERY different in styles, I know).
"Eminence Front" by the Who
a great song always leaves you wanting more
THATTTT'SSSSS THE LEGENDARYYYYYY KEITH MOON ON THOSE DRUMS JAY!!! LOL :) R.I.P KEITH YEAHHH HAPPY GROUNDHOG'S DAY JAVON!
JayVee, it’s so much fun to share the music of our youth with younger folks like yourself who appreciate it. The only downside of growing up with such wonderful songs is that we are now old. But I think it’s worth it! 😁👍
Love your show.makes me feel the song like it's my first time.beautiful.
Great you react to The Who, but the best way to know them is watching them playing live, like for instance when they did it in The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus... they blew out the whole building, Jagger and Richards in it included
One of there best L.P's. How many groups have a picture of the members just relieving themselves on the L.P cover then call the L.P Who's Next?
As a kid receiving it for Christmas my mother said if she knew what they were doing she wouldn't have gotten it. Best album ever!
And if course the monolith is a reference to the film "2001."
Best album ever.
This song has a sad, soulful vibe to it. Always enjoyed it. 💕
I think you would like Baba O'riley ...its my personal favorite of theirs
I don't know... it seems to be teenage wasteland 😁😁
They're all wasted ! 🙊
Love it!..and "Squeeze Box".
Great reaction to one of my favorite bands!
Pete Townsend was definitely a great guitarist. His lead lines were tasty without being too flashy, his rhythm tones were good and beefy, and he knew how to balance electric with acoustic.

Oh, BTW, The Who are like The Eagles the way Eminem is like Frank Sinatra...
Just watched your reaction Pink Floyd a moment ago and here you are at it again. Good work. :)
Watching the Superbowl, the WHO did half time show a decade or so ago, very cool, old guys, still awesome
Man I know The Who are my favorite band of all time there amazing seen them three times live unfortunately never got to see them with John and Keith but still incredible you should react to the seeker
The Eagles can't polish the shoes of The Who. Such a incredible difference in pure Raw Talent. Keith Moon, the drummer, was grear friends with that other drumming genius, John Bonham, from Led Zeppelin and both died tragically early
This song always makes me cry
This is one of my fav songs of theirs.
Great one from The Who. You also need to listen to The Seeker. And Love Reign O'er Me from them.
love this song and ur reaction!!
Only similarities that the Who have with the Eagles could be the harmonies. If you want a longer Who song, check out Won't get fooled again. It's about 8 mins long or so and has a great scream.

What minor details?
Did certain bands have good vocal melodies? Yes. Were the Eagles and The Who two of them? Yes.
Keith Moon was the drummer and Pete Townsend the guitar god. Lead singer is Roger Daltry. Glad you dig classic rock! Thanks for sharing!
The Who is my favorite band!
A couple great songs that The Who covered are Young Man Blues and Summertime Blues. Give them a listen. You won't be disappointed.
The who - Love reign o'er me..... best ..... song.... ever
one of the best all time rock n roll band in history
The Who came out with a new album at the end of 2019 you should check it out.
I still need to get this. I have everything else except what was not sold in the states.
That whoooole album! From that album: Baba O'Riley and another shorty but goody, Love Aint For Keeping.
I have two more songs for you to react to. " Baba O' Reilly " also known as Teenage Westland. Also, " Whose Are You? " CSI used as there theme song.
The lead singer' s name is Roger Daltrey, and the guitarist is Pete Townsend.
Keep with the "blue eyes" theme, and take a listen to Suite: Judy Blue Eyes by Crosby, Stills, and Nash. 😜
Baby Blue Eyes by Joan Armatrading
Keith Moon is the drummer for The Who! He is the greatest drummer of all time! No joke! Look it up! Keith Moon Rocks!
The original Angry Young Men
Thanks for reminding me of that - one of my favorite tracks of all time.
I've never heard The Who compared to The Eagles, but that's what's great about getting fresh ears on these songs that are ingrained in a lot of us. You get to experience it differently. After you made the comparison I heard some things that were definitely Eagles-like. Even though this came before them.
The Who has one of the best Drummers. Well had cause Keith Moon died.
The Who and The Who’s Next Album are what I want on a desert island.
One more on this great album the who it's called I'M Going Mobile great song
have you heard 'Magic Bus'? Live at Leeds👍
"Crazy" was the right word for the drummer, Keith Moon, my favorite rock drummer of all time.
When they made Keith Moon.....they broke the mould...….a truly great musician.
One of my dads favorites. He's 71 now.
beautiful song🙏
Next up has got to be ....Young Man's Blues . from the album...The Who : Live at Leeds ..........This is just incredible !
Quadrophenia is a must who album. Kieth Moon was the drummer died young

Best voice in rock
Pete Townsend is simply brilliant and that's all there is to it.
You should do "Boris the Spider" by the Who. Totally different sound to anything else they did. "I can see for miles" is my favourite by them though.
Since you've covered this & shine on you crazy diamond by pink floyd I highly recommend this olden goldie
Sam Cooke: Bring it on home to me a brilliant song and I genuinely think you'll love it JV it's from the 60's soul era :D
React to anything off of the album Quadrophenia
For real!
Lazer Who in the Seattle Lazarium….hi as fuk circa 1985. Hell ya ...laying on the floor up front...fk ya.
Good times. there MUST be people who know what an 80's Lazarium is.
Keith Moon Drums. Pete Townsend Guitar.
Early on in the vocals, you started to comment about Roger Daltry's vocals, but you stopped so you could keep on listening.
Never heard The Who compared to The Eagles before. lol. Keep listening.
Pete Toiwnshend wrote this song about Roger Daltrey
You should check out one of their older songs if you want more guitar and drum work. My Generation from their Live At Leeds album is amazing.
This is lovely but you need to hear them rock in something like Won't get Fooled Again.
The Who "Love ain't for keeping"
Listen to Underture from Tommy (The Who).. If you love their music, it’s a must..
The drummer was Keith Moon. Rest in Peace.
One of there best
I wish you would do See Feel Me by The Who ( Woodstock). Epic performance.
Love this song it was a part of shrek 2 soundtrack too
Pure And Easy, Look In The Mirror Boy, Happy Jack, I'm Free, too many more to list!!
Please listen again, and pay attention to the bass guitar. The bassist is widely considered to be the GOAT, John Entwistle. There are a couple of videos with his bass isolated in the song. He's fantastic.
You should listen to pink floyd -comfortably numb, echoes, time, money
great reaction
"Whoever that drummer is"! Keith Moon (the loon!). Check him out. A one-off. As a drummer and as a person
Back then songs were barely 3 to 3 & 1/2 minutes long. In the 70s they started making them longer. The who were a great band. Try baba o'riley or who are you. Both used in CSI NEW YORK N THE ORIGINAL CSI.
