I love both! Canva has a better selection for premade graphics, font organization, and folders for organization. Kittl feels like a user-friendly version of photoshop and I love the templates! I use both! ❤
I actually got rid of my Canva subscription a couple of months ago. I had both for a while and then I realize that Kittl has everything I need and you guys are always improving at warp speed. I love the Kittl platform and community and I plan on being a member for years to come. Thanks for the comparison Drew 😊👍
I appreciate Kittl's powerful features but find the platform a bit challenging as someone not trained in design. The learning curve seems steep compared to more straightforward tools like Canva. Any chance of making Kittl more user-friendly for non-designers? Simplified workflows would be a huge help for users like me who need to balance design work with other responsibilities. Thanks for considering this feedback!
Great points here! We appreciate this feedback. We do have a suite of companion tools that can help you along in the design process, like the Kittl Co-Pilot (which we will be doing more videos about), and we also have a vast collections of tutorials on our channel. We are also planning a massive rework of our Kittl Masterclass, where we will be going through a complete deep dive of how to use everything in Kittl. And to your question, yes, we are working on improving even more UI implementations to make things even more streamlined for your workflow. Cheers!
I appreciate the comparison video. I’ve been a long time Canva user and will continue being one; however, I started learning about Kittl this year and I really do like it! I certainly agree that the design quality exceeds Canva’s. I can see myself using both though for different design needs…are there any plans for video creation and multi page document creation (similar to what Indesign does)?
Thanks for the comment, and glad this video was helpful. Yes, we are looking at adding a certain ability for video but can't say much at the time! You can already do multi page documents right now for PDF format.
I didn’t have to watch videos to figure out how to use Canva. It’s very intuitive. But Kittl is a little annoying when getting started. Especially, with its pop open side tabs when I’m trying to do something on my canvas. Haven’t looked into how to make that stop yet, if it’s even possible. Guess I’ll go watch some videos on it. (Sigh)
This is so true. When I'm trying to do anything to the image, the huge popup comes up on the right. I can't get out of it! Every time I click on the image, it pops up again and hides part of the image. Very frustrating.
Hey there! Yes, and we'll actually be releasing a complimentary feature along next to it we are very excited about. The current functionality of Brand Kits is in Beta, and is lacking full functionality which is why it has been released to Expert plan users for testing. We are extremely close, won't be long now!
When using the upscaler in your platform, how much does it upscale the image? Example: an image that is 1024px X 1024px, what would that image be upscaled to?
In my humble opinion, Kittl feels like its target audience, designers, I am not a designer but really loved what I watched on youtube about Kittl, I immediatly realized its potential, however, when I tried to look for informational videos on how and "why" I couldn't find it, all the videos showed how to do things but I couldn't really duplicate it later, either because it was a different design from the video or I needed something added, deleted etc.... Canva on the other hand, has more informational videos out there. I am not asking for Kittl school but Canva is a bit more user friendly and intuitive as of now but I would love to switch to Kittl. Thank you for considering the feedback.
Thanks for your story here! We really appreciate the feedback. We are planning a more vast "school-like" style of content to train those from beginning to end in Kittl, but it will take some time to finish the production! We thank you for your patience. 🙏
I use both Canva and Kittl. I originally started with Canva because it’s popular and cheaper than Adobe. However, when I tried Kittl, I immediately noticed a difference. Canva is better for overall asset management, but Kittl surpasses Canva when it comes to essential design tools. I’ve tried designing more in Canva, but the workflow isn’t as smooth. It might be because I’ve used Kittl more, but even so, Canva’s overall workflow feels a bit cumbersome with more clicks to get to things. There’s something off for me. In my opinion, I think Canva’s brand management organization flows better than Kittl’s. That said, I highly recommend Kittl over Canva for design; there’s no comparison. I can’t comment on all the assets Canva has because I don’t use them often. On a side note, I would love to see videos on mock-up workflows. As you know, for POD there is a need to create tons of mockups, and while Kittl does have a tool to generate mock-ups, is there an efficient way to make shirt color changes for different types of t-shirt brands? The mockup generator is generic. Lastly, once Kittl improves asset management including font management I could easily see cutting the cord with Canva.
Thanks for all of the context here! We really appreciate it. And we will work on some content about the mockup workflows as you've said. We're actually working on reworking our mockup functionality to be even smoother.
The mockup generator is good but it’s starting to get messy. Also it would be ideal if @kittldesign actually added real life t-shirt colored brand mockups so it’s easier to do mockups especially since POD is what Kittl is all about instead of these fake AI generated mockups we can all get from various free sources. At the Kittl price point for pro acct + subs we should be getting real life brand tee mockups, imho. Same with cups, tumblers, mugs, and missing clear cans.
Until they deliver on more AI credits with better prompt results, rulers and clipping guides and masks like PS, which are ALL well overdue, probably not any time soon, imho.
I love the text transform effects that Kittl provides such as Arch & Distort and text shadows such Block shadow with a touch of outline ^.^ and when I need to do a more detailed vector editing I export svg to Figma, and after that get back to Kittl :) and by the way I super love the fact that textures on Kittl have the alpha mask (which basically helps you apply a see through grunge effect to your designs). p.s. and if Kittle is listening, I wish we could turn any svg shape into a mask (currently we have to use a pre-made list of masks) that would be awesome and if basic vector editing was possible (such as moving the nodes around or deleting unwanted ones), then there would be no reason to leave Kittl ^.^ and what about vector boolean operations such as add or subtract, that would be legendary :D but ok I have to stop, it's not Christmas yet ^.^
I rock with both , but Kittl is better for making Tees in my opinion. For my POD store , it’s better bc u have the tools specifically made for it .. keep up the tutorials tho , love learning new things everyday !
I don't consider Canva to be your real competitor to be honest. You have easy to use tools for designers. Amazing templates. Great AI. Vectorizer, Background remover (that actually works well). Images in DPI. What more can you want? Canva has more broad audience and use. Anyhow, you can't be the best in EVERYTHING. And my advice would be to stay THE BEST in what is your best - graphic design for Print on Demand. Of course, there is always a room for improvement, but without the flow and growth life wouldn't be life - like living :) p.s. Your dedication to educate your users is also amazing, don't stop. Love to Kittl team. x
I use both, mainly because Kittle doesn’t have a mobile app to create on the go. When I get an idea I need to create and post it. If you guys had a mobile version it would make my life easier!
Is there a way to upload clip art, etc. directly into a folder and not just the uploads area? It’s VERY time consuming to upload art then have to move it into a folder.
I don't think you mentioned being able to add your own fonts to the program that you already own. Is that a feature? Thats a bare bone must for me. I seen someone mention masking missing as well, need. I tested kittl very early on when it first came out & I see you've added TONS & love that but again, bare bones. And of course an app or studio download would be amazing to see too, will that be a thing?
Hey there! Yes, you can upload your own fonts to Kittl! And you can save ones to brand kits that you need to recall consistently. Yes, and App is currently being worked on. But we would definitely suggest Kittl another solid try, we've added much more than generic features. :)
I disagree. Canva does things better than Kittl, and vice versa. Currently Kittl has better templates for sure, but the "infinite canvas" in Kittl is nice, but once you have many artboards (15+) created in 1 page, it's so slow and lags so much. With Canva, you'll have no lag with 100+ "pages", though they don't have an infinite artboard feature. Kittl does have much better AI, but Canva's just bought Leonardo AI and Affinity designer. Canva also has better video editing and social media post flexibility IMO than Kittl. Both options are great in my opinion because each has a feature that does better than their competitors.
I love Kittl and it’s so much easier than Canva. One sour note is that recently I passed the 100 project boundary and that came with an unexpected price increase. I caved but it didn’t feel right
@@DarlaNTexas the pro plan has a 100 project limit. It’s $10 a month paid annually. The expert plan is $24 a month paid annually. It’s a huge jump and honestly I feel it’s too much. @@DarlaNTexasyep! And this is total nonsense because Kittl isn’t cheap. They LIMIT the projects and AI credits way too much, imho! It’s kinda a possible deal breaker to not renew my pro acct subscription. It’s too limiting and I’m tired of giving feedback and they won’t listen.
@@egauci1I’d like to know how many more pro acct subs they have compared to the expert cuz if I had to guess they have more pro acct subs than anything else and that’s who Kittl’s REAL target audience is and that’s who they should be improving on not taking away from to force unnecessary upgrades. In this economy ppl are NOT looking to pay &24-$30/mth for a subpar platform that still requires you to jump to 5 others to finish one design. Its ridiculous!
Great information. Do you have the capability of having your customer come into Kittl and personalize an item like Canva and Corjl? I feel like Canva is used for different things. Kittl frustrates me with the constant dripping on every design in watercolor. The background remover doesn't remove this, and removing it with the eraser is tedious and time consuming. It's impossible to get close enough to the image without removing part of it. That's the main reason I cancelled my trial. Though a lot of the images are great, some are odd. Like having 6 fingers on one hand, or spelling words incorrectly even though the prompt was spelled correctly. It's also very frustrating to have blobs behind the images. And, background remover does not always remove these. Many of my attempts to make images are useless. Another great feature would be showing us how to write the prompts. Or have samples in a separate category that we can copy and paste, but change to the image we need.
Hey there! We aren't sure exactly when you canceled your trial and stopped using Kittl, but our AI tools have since improved dramatically to reduce these render issues. We are also working on making the eraser tool even easier to use, and another function that will help you a ton with image generation. If you have time, we would appreciate you giving it another chance!
I have both on annual sub at present - I like Kittl's retro designs, and the AI generators are great. But sorry mate, Canva is the one I'll be renewing. It's way easier to use. And on some of your points: everyone raises their prices each year, and current high-cost conditions mean that businesses have little choice. I'm raising my own! Secondly, I don't think it's fair to accuse Canva of being corporation-focused given all the work they do with schools and charities, providing free access. I'm happy to pay extra to support that work. What charitable work is Kittl doing? I expect Canva will indeed do a public offering - and I'll be first in the queue to buy their shares because I admire the company and its founders. They're innovative, clever, cutting-edge and have great ethics when it comes to responsibility and inclusion. I agree Kittl designs and fonts are great, but if you work across various tools as I do, the reality is that you end up using fonts that are common to all of them - thus any original ones get sidelined.
Thanks for your story here! We're happy to provide more context for our community-centric initiatives another time. We never mentioned that Canva wasn't charitable, just wanted to be clear on that! Cheers.
@@Kittldesign I never said you did! Just wanted to mention that side of their business in answer to your suggestion that Canva's plans to go public meant that they were becoming too corporate. Which I don't think is fair.
Typography in Kittl is way more robust and advanced than Canva. Erasing in Kittl is another high-level story. With that being said, I still feel home at Canva. Honestly, I do not know why.
Experts in typography but still no possibility of doing kerning, which is still annoying, and I'm not even going to talk about pen tools etc... And 30 AI credits is really too little, the 3/4 of the time I have to switch to another generator, I don't have to wait until the next day to get a result that I like! On Canva, it's not great in terms of AI, but you have a lot more possibilities to switch between different apps. In short, there are a lot of advantages on Kittl, but also on Canva, so I keep both + necessarily software like Adobe or Affinity... I very much doubt that it's possible to have everything on a single design tool and in In any case, depending on what you need and the result you want to obtain, you will have to have something other than Kittl! While waiting for new developments from them because what is good is that they remain attentive to users and progress from month to month, in one year I have clearly seen the change, as long as it lasts! Strength to the team 💪
Masking is a major missing function in Kittl. The canned “Letters” to mask is not a great solution. This is the biggest thing that I have to use another platform for which makes it clunky to do part of a design in one platform and the rest in a different or two platforms.
THIS!!! Been telling Kittl team they need to add real mask layers like in Photoshop. I can’t stand working with their limited elements masks. It doesn’t work well especially with images. Super frustrating and same for letters. If they focused on adding these things more than they are trying to sell us all on how Canva raised their pricing and trying to do a comparison, maybe they’d get work done on their actual platform. Honestly, I think Photoshop is looking more and more appealing especially with all their latest update.
@@cindy28matt Photoshop and Illustrator both have gained a lot of ground. I would use Kittl more for a lot of stuff that I just can’t simply due to missing mask functionality. It’s a BIG thing.
Bulk Create and create from csv, things I am doing in kittl I am happy but still you can not replace kittl with canva, even though how much I would love to =)
Sadly my old computer does not like kittl. It freezes it up regularly and slows my work. Beween kittl and canva I love kittl AI and word warp but I like canva pages, elements and better.
Hey there, yes this is a new update, but only for Clipart, which is the intention of utilizing that asset. Typically you would not keep the white background along with your clipart. Would there be a reason you need to keep it that way?
@@Kittldesign sometimes kittl doesn't cleanly remove the background or remove too much of the details. I would just like to manually remove it in photoshop. Sometimes the white highlight in the image gets mistaken as part of the white background and gets removed too, now the clipart is of no use. Wish there's an option to like revert it with the white background on.
@@Kittldesign it's been annoying. Been generating images since this morning, and i cant use any of them since kittl is deleting too much detail or the removed background is not that clean. Really annoying. Hope you solve this bc im just wasting credits at this point. Give my credits back
Agreed. I’ve been telling the Kittl team for months going back almost a year now to add more cute and girly designs because they have way too many skeletons and skulls to last a lifetime versus Canva has so many cute and trending events designs. But I don’t think they’re actually listening.
So I have both. I am an Etsy POD and handmade seller. If push came to shove, I would choose Canva. I LOVE the templates in Kittl and I also really love the fonts. BUT the graphics in Kittl suck, sorry. So it forces me to have a 3rd party clip art or graphics sub. Canva has better graphics and they have AI so if I go completely bust, I would have to go with Canva. But really, I would stick with Photoshop and I have Affinity and Procreate. So I’d probably get rid of both subs and stick with the purchased programs and learn to draw. 😂
I don’t use Reddit. And really what I miss in Kittl is rulers. Why no rulers ?!?!? In PS and Canva I can move a ruler where I need it to be. That is a huge issue for me.

We appreciate your feedback here! 🙏
All great points, and of course improvements that need to be made. Big updates coming soon!
Fair point. Working on it.
Bulk Create and create from csv, things I am doing in kittl I am happy but still you can not replace kittl with canva, even though how much I would love to =)
Thanks for watching!
Sadly my old computer does not like kittl. It freezes it up regularly and slows my work. Beween kittl and canva I love kittl AI and word warp but I like canva pages, elements and better.
Thanks for the explanation!
Why does the image I generate in AI image generator has its background automatically removed? Is this a new update.
Give my credits back
@@jellybeans8177 Understood. We will be talking with our developers about this issue right now!
@@Kittldesign Thank you so much, Kittl!
I do love a lot about Kittl. But, in my opinion, your element options are extremely lacking compared to Canva.
Agreed. I’ve been telling the Kittl team for months going back almost a year now to add more cute and girly designs because they have way too many skeletons and skulls to last a lifetime versus Canva has so many cute and trending events designs. But I don’t think they’re actually listening.
Thanks for the feedback here!
We appreciate your feedback here.
I guess I’m just not “cool” enough 😂
I don’t use Reddit. And really what I miss in Kittl is rulers. Why no rulers ?!?!? In PS and Canva I can move a ruler where I need it to be. That is a huge issue for me.
@@karen-fg They are coming!
You're definitely cool enough to use Kittl!
You guys are expensive than Canva in India
Hey there! We do have pricing variations in differing countries, but we find our India pricing to be quite fair.
@@Kittldesign You charge twice the amount, You should understand India is a big country and charge accordingly. India is a price sensitive market.
Why is everyone so mad lmao
Some people may have been very surprised as of late! It simply depends.
Kittle's free version allows you to do, pretty much, *NOTHING* !!!! SO, NO, IT'S NOT A CANVA ALTERNATIVE!!
Exactly
