I'm dreaming right now! Looking at this with this music playing I can see myself galloping through green pastures. Me & my horse Calypso are one & we ride like the wind.
Love the music (Eya’s Storms in Africa is one of my favorite songs). Love the images. These are some of the best stallions in the world. I must go there someday.
i have personally been to the farm and meet a bunch of the horses. my bestfriend lives there and we go and swim and play tennis all the time. its a nice big bueatful farm, i love it
I've been to the best horse farms in & around Lexington, KY. Ashford Stud (now Coolmore) is one of the most beautiful. Hands-down, amazingly scenic, with the best TB's in the world. It's also a breeding factory, running their shed till after midnight, shipping stallions to the S. hemisphere during the off-season. Most miserable, unhappy group of top-grade TB's I've *ever* seen in the bluegrass. The group I saw (including FuPeg) faced their back stall walls when approached by visitors. Be wary!
I was under the impression Ashford doesn't give tours unless you have a mare you want to breed. I like Three Chimneys, they continue to gallop their stallions under saddle
@AzeriZ1 It's still Coolmore (Coolmore America) We just call it Ashford Stud because you got Coolmore Australia and Coolmore in Ireland all own by the same people Some of these Stallions will fly to Australia and get booked there and fly back during our season and stay here
when i saw if Mariah's Storm was there...i would die...she's my fave racehorse! though she retired cause she broke her cannon bone on track...but she's still my fave!
Note tgd name, Stud. This the correct usage of the word. It's where stallions stand to service mares. Male horses are correctly called "stallions ". Stud is used incorrectly to define "stallions: Real horse 🐴 people know thus.
Compare this to the farm across the way...3 stallion-to-mare bookings a day (very rarely a 4th). Half the year off for the stallions to relax and romp. Very luxurious and fitting retirement for these champions. The minute they weren't well or "up" to the task, they were put on limited/restricted duty. It was all about the horse and his wellness. Not to mention the fact that overpopulating the gene pool does no one any good!
AzeriZ1 It is also about respect for the animal.. I get so furious to see a former world champion attached Louisville still being pushed in the ring on Saturday night, only to place eighth out of eight. Sheer disrespect. All things in moderation if you want a happy healthy horse who can give you the desired results.
Denis McKeon Tours are run Monday-Friday at 3pm and ticked are booked at visithorsecountry.com or call 859-963-1004 Coolmoore does NOT want you to contact them directly. Got that from their website
Watch for a new book coming out some time around the end of this year..."The SHOCKING TRUTH About HORSE RACING...The Documented PROOF that BLATANT ABUSE OF HORSES Sustains the Racing World"
What's disturbing is they all look like they're in fancy 'jails'. Why aren't these horses let loose?! Enjoying the gorgeous scenery, out there roaming around, socializing with other horses? Just lonesome, lush scenery -- for what!? for only visitors to enjoy? Sickening.
Because they are stud stallions some worth 10s of millions. They aren't let loose into fields until retirement. Because the risk of injury is too high.
Antoinette I AGREE WITH YOU 100%!!!!!! These POOOOR HORSES spend their lives in jail and then are FORCED into mating in an unnatural way. STUD FARMS ARE ANIMAL CRUELTY...ALL OF THEM!!!!! This is a TOTALLY UNNATURAL way for horses to live! It's absolutely criminal!!!!

HORSES ARE LUCKY TO HAVE SUCH A STUD FARM TO STAY. MOST BEAUTIFUL.

It’s really easy for the general public to get a tour. They have a website where you can just book the tour.

This is the barn from the movie Dreamer:D
what are the size of the stalls? Beautiful barn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+bigstride27 I'm not sure... But Alydar had a 16x18 foot stall. He was the top sire of Calumet at the time, though... But I'm guessing close to that.

When speaking of facts, are you talking about you or actual horse racing personnel whom work in the industry with first hand experience?
Lyre Burch
I also asked a question, which you refuse to answer 🤷♀️
Lyre Burch
That was from the 1900s. Your comment is invalid. Try again.
Also, it’s 2019, in case you weren’t aware of the year we’re in.
..did that guy feed a wormer and not give the horse a treat? nasty lol

They have paddocks off their stalls. They can spend time outdoors.

They have paddocks off their stalls. They do go out to enjoy the sun, grass, & weather.
