Other than the epileptic seizures, great video.
Why dont you guys do this more frequently? Battle reports like this are awesome! Would love to watch them on a regular bases.

The seizure flashing is so severe it makes this video unenjoyable. I recommend toning that waaaaay down in future.

I'm not sure the Drone shot correctly around the 16 minute mark as AROs only allow you to place the burst into one unit. Nice video despite the technical difficulties.

Lots of rules mistakes (including some that would have been fine in the previous edition) but that's par for the course for online game reports. Infinity is complicated.

If Infinity looks fun to you, check it out! The rules are free, the minis are (mostly) stylish, and your army can consist entirely of conscripted gene-modded cosplayers.
I saw Infinity among the SU&SD video titles but thought "Huh, must be a board game out there also called Infinity - there's no way they did a video on my favorite wargame ever" and never got around to watching it. Now I watch it and lo and behold, it's Infinity! And a great video at that! Make a spinoff channel for Infinity and Armada battle reports please SU&SD ;)
On a related note, any chance of you reviewing the dungeon crawler Corvus Belli is releasing - Infinity Defiance? Obviously it's not out yet (I'd imagine it will hit retail shelves early 2021 or so), but when it does?
I'm really liking the battle reports for this game, it seams like a lot of fun!
They just started demoing it at my local store I'll have to save some $$$ to buy the starter set...

I really appreciate this video, though Infinity has some rules that are a bit odd but there for the cinematic effect as well as being fairer. 23:30 when shooting out of a smoke cloud you actually reveal yourself enough for the models you are shooting to see you (with a penalty if you try and shoot back, or a dodge with no mod if your opponent wants to try and live).

could you please write the title names of each mini you guys bought for this game please i havnt seen the alien guys at the store maybe they are new ? that way i can see if i want to buy the same mini's from their store also is the paint you used on the minis dirty or something? looks grainy like there were bits of stuff in the paint the pictures of painted mini's on the infinity site look much better do you think they sanded them and polished them or something ?

It looks like a mixture of their soon to be delivered shanty town from Urban Apocalypse kickstarted product (which should be available retail around September this year) and their next kickstarter Sci-Fi 2.0 which should launch in the autumn. I have their earlier sci-fi and fantasy products, and can vouch for the fact that they are every bit as good as they look. In fact having see the new sets at UK Expo, they are improving their products significantly with every new release.
The last 3 mins of the video is an interview with Colin Young, the owner and designer of BattleSystems.

at 8:13 you couldn't shoot smoke since you have no LOF through your own smoke.
Both smoke grenade and light smoke grenade launcher have the speculative fire trait , so I think you can do that but it'll be at a -6 mod to your BS roll

Wow, nice video and terrain but you got soooooo many rules wrong. When the Oznat was firing her first smoke grenade, she would have used two dice since she gets an extra burst from being in a Fireteam. She would have been rolling for 14's (+3 for range). Her second smoke should have been an Intuitive Attack which is an Entire Order, since she just blocked her own Line of Sight with the first smoke.
Intuitive Attacks however are always Burst 1 even in a Fireteam, but all the other bonuses apply, plus there's a -6 penalty from the Intuitive Attack.
Yan Huo with the dual missile launcher has an equipment that grants him the Neurocinetics ability which makes him shoot full burst in the Reactive turn, but Burst 1 on the active turn. The Yan huo would have also been at -3 range that close.
When using Fireteams, you need to mark the Fireteam leader at the start of each activation.
Even though Q-Drone has Burst 4 in the Reactive Turn, you can never split burst between targets in the Reactive Turn, he has to pick just one target to receive the full burst.
Q-Drone BS skill is 11, so it would never need 13's to hit. All the modifiers are at intervals of 3. You roll for skill or lower.

Yeah weird flashy thing but I'm more concerned about The bloodcurdling scream you can hear in the distance in the last few seconds of the video.

not to be rude but if the aliens get to be mindlinked which allows u to use one order to move a group instad of one guy why would i use any other faction?
Not watched the whole video but regarding moving together:
1) The absolute kings of hanging out together are the Tohaa. Most Tohaa units are able to take part in triads, elite units of three bad asses that can bring whatever combination of stuff in their trio you want because, unlike other fire teams, they don't have to be from the same unit.
You don't want to play as Tohaa because the average stat line for them is do doo, they dire to fire exceptionally easily and they struggle to bring big weapons to bear.
2) Sectorials are the other way to get fire teams that move together. These are essentially theme lists that form subsections of the main factions and in return you get access to fireteams. For example you can play either Nomads or you can play *just* units from the Nomad ship Corregidor.
On the plus side you get squads, on the downside you don't get access to other nomad troops such as the best hackers in the game.
3) Fire teams aren't actually god kings. They're alot of points because you usually buy more of the models than you'd field defaultly to get the fireteam bonuses, they need to be moved carefully to not be overly exposed and, like literally everything in Infinity, they're exceptionally fragile. Kill the leader? Squads gone, expose two models rather than just the spear head? That guy can't react and you shoot him dead for freebies.
Oh and double fun now I'm going through the video:
In the case of the Oznat and her pets they're g:synched units. Which are even MORE fragile because if the Oznat dies all the pets are inert and useless.
Plus they all have to do the same order and stay within 8" of eachother. Which can be hard when you wanna move and stab with the pets but the Oznat would be safer moving and shooting to cover herself.
Each faction has it's own strength. PanOceania has absurdly high Ballistic skills, across the board, and an absurd number of TAGs (amazing giant stompy robots, look up "PanO Squalos" for an example).
Yu Jing has amazing close combat specialists, access to really great infiltrators (units that can start midway up the board), and good options to lay down smoke, and have units that can shoot through that smoke. As well as the most diesel heavy infantry units of all.
Haqqislam has incredibly versatile light infantry, as well as Impersonators! What's that, it's Bob from Accounting, he's hanging out WITH us at the beginning of our turn... oh no, it's not Bob, it's an assassin who's just killed our Lieutenant in the first order of the game.
Nomads have a lot of tricks and tools, including the best hackers in the game, which can shut down entire swaths of the table with effective area control.
And so on.
The actual strength of Pan-O is to win every single fire fight and then lose when they fail three WIP checks in a row.
It's just science.

As a Yu Jing player Quinn you are putting me through agony, get your Rui Shi out there, MSV2 means it can see through smoke! And put your smoke grenade launcher next to it! If you're shooting through smoke, then at best your opponent can ARO shoot back at -6 (that also stacks with the -3 of cover + range bands), or dodge at no penalty!
[Edit] - Ah, I see that you do this in Turn 2. And it was your cowardice that enabled the pretas to gain ground, tskkkk tsk!

I was enjoying the content, but the strobing effect is absolutely intolerable. I'm not photosensitive, and I wouldn't ordinarily comment. But that's just a terrible effect and I have no idea why you'd use it.

um how is this game fair quinns has failed most of his rolls tim won most of his if you just get bad rolls the game is over for you ?
That's most miniature games.
Keep in mind that despite failing most of his rolls, Quinn was able to fight to a draw. That's pretty impressive. Yeah dice can make or break a game, but skill and tactics absolutely play heavy roles.

Okay, seriously guys. What is your issue with female characters being sexy/wearing skimpy attire? All it says to me is that they're looking to go more for rule-of-cool and draws me into asking 'so, why is it she's going around without much armour? Is it a cultural thing for her kind?
For instance, 40ks Wyches. Skimpy outfits on all of them, because they're primarily entertainers, showing off their battle prowess in speed and skill and bulky armour goes against that. Or sisters of Battle, who have boob plates because the Ecclesiarchy is exploiting a loophole in the imperium's Kafkaesque bureaucracy that limits the number of men under their banner.
Getting off my soapbox now, cause I'm kinda fed up with people moaning about female miniatures being sexy.
I don't think that any of these sci-fi or fantasy people actualy exist and as such any cultural reasons for them to be running around the battlefield in a sexy bikini are just hand wavey bullshit.
