@@MubinTalati It's an exciting time with a new edition as well! I'm still undecided which of my armies to field once the full rules drop on the 18th; it's alarmingly easy to end up with multiple armies in this game
@@Ufobydeath I mainly play Hassassins and Steel Phalanx, but am building a kitbashed "cowboy" USARF army for N5. I hope they get some love in the new edition!
@@robertmaples1550 I certainly hope so! N4 was pretty rough on them but considering they've been kept around I'm hoping they get some cool stuff to work with. I'm currently leaning either Hassassins, Imperial Service or Tohaa (the latter depending on if they'll be less gross than they currently are). Shock Army were my main but they're gone now so might give a jungle themed Kestrel army a go.
Please please please, make a full Infinity battle report on the same level as your 40k in 40 minutes battle reports one day. It would be sooooo immensely nice to be able to also enjoy Infinity battle reports alongside 40k battle reports regularly from you guys! 😊

N5 is definitely seeming like it'll be what causes me to take the full plunge into Infinity. I now just need to get over my fear of building and painting metal miniatures
@@MubinTalati Its not that bad, I still have lots of metal Eldar. My honest recommendation is to use a good lacquer primer, something imported from Japan like Mr. Surfacer 1000 mahogany.
LOVE that you guys always are willing to branch out from the normal GW stuff we see on most TH-cams. Infinity is a personal favorite of mine and a game I've played for years. Pumped to see you guys explore N5.

Yes, more Infinity! I've been intrigued by this game for some time, and just recently picked up some JSA to start in N5. The ARO, hidden deployment/camo, action tokens are such awesome things!

Going to keep adding little things; you also ARO against any point in the movement of a trooper. You can shoot a trooper before it gets the cover bonus at the end of the movement.
Ngl, I don't get the 'no pre-measuring' rule. I fail to see what it adds outside of a lot of 'feels bad' moments, gonna prolly houserule it away in my games
@ONIMOT100 I believe it is mostly for time management. If I move here am I in this range of this model, and that model, LoC of that model on the way? That was one hypothetical order, what if I did that order and ordered that model again? Adds a bit of skill expression and risk as well.
@@KRdHaene Ehhhhh It promotes people finding cheesy ways to pre-measure using terrain or their palms or something like that. Nothing really 'skillful' about that, just memorization of what a given range looks like(?) 😕 And the 'risk' it adds is mostly 'feels bad' mistakes cuz 'oops you failed to guess what the optimal range is, better luck next time'
in the 1st 6 you roll is target number it mean critical the defender have to save one more time additional cover in this game have to base contact and cover your silhouette if one point of attacker can see entire silhouette you have no cover like here at 11:59 mubin didn't have to -3 form cover cuase not thing in front of senku troop and like in the explaination you have to declare basic short skill first then short skill so you can move before shooting you still can target the model every where is had been in that order and resolve a shot at the end of the order after you moving thankyou guy for give this game a shot keep up a good work :D
Thank you for the feed back! The Quick Start rules didn't go over Criticals and we played this first game using just the basic Quick Start rules. We're hoping to learn and do a full game once we get the full N5 rules!
It's the other way around: If there's any scenery between any point of the attackers base and the target base, it counts as cover. The target still needs to be in contact with the scenery.
@@C0m3TSw1tch one thing i dont like is that as time has passed, theres been alot more of a unifying style amongst the minis and factions, kind of feeling like some factions are losing a bit of flavor. I play Haqq and alot of, especially hassassin stuff just feels very samey. It's hard to tell alot of stuff apart

Hey awesome to see you guys playing this. Hopefully we’ll see even more out of you two as you pull more minis in and more tiles too. Just one little thing to note with ARO’s they can be taken at anytime during the enemies action. Meaning if you declare a shoot action you don’t take it at the point the enemy models ends moving but at any point between. As such, if your minis can see one of the enemy models out of cover at any point with AO on that point, you can ping for that spot to shoot them. This is what makes AROs such a fun and strong thing in infinity and an especially tactical thing too. As while you can just act with single models, sometimes it’s good when you know AOR lines are down to shift certain models into certain lines to help block them/keep them suppressed. Good examples are if you have a sniper, you don’t need to use that sniper to pick off targets during your turn, but an effective strategy is to place them in a good sight position that covers multiple movement lines and has good ARO access, which means while they don’t shoot in your turn, they become an amazing asset of denial for enemy players.

13:52 This is one of my most favourite things about Infinity. The focus on where the real action is. It feels like the camera in a movie switches to that one model and follows it. As opposed to other games, where you "mandatorily" have to move with units that are irrelevant to where the main action is happening at that point.
I remeber when you guys first started saying that your channels type of editing would be perfect for this time, I'm glad you guys are giving this a shot on the channel, even if it's a sponsored video. Would love to see more of this.

You found Infinity :-D Good! Good! Playing it since N2 and N5 is looking too be the best Edition of Infinity ever. This game has gotten better and better over time. And the action,reaction is just amazingly cinematic.
Niiiice! Really hope you guys play the game. You can do a ton with scenery and terrain. Also the moment to moment action will be really very exciting with you guys in front of the camera
The Price is Right comparison is apt, as the system rewards the player with the better odds in that if both players succeed in a contested action, the player with the higher success breaks the "tie". At least as far as with what's shown.
Mubin and JT would definitely like to do a full play through at some point! They had a lot of fun with just the Quick Start rules and JT definitely wants to try out Close Combat
One very interesting thing about Infinity that is very unique is that in other games (RPGs or Wargames) you either want to roll high or roll low, but in Infinity you want to roll medium.

Models having firing lanes across the board, mm. Also, can't you ARO at any point during your opponents move; for example, when the JSA trooper goes from cover to cover, as they turn the corner they are exposed, can't you declare BS Attack then and deny them cover? Is that different in N5?

I started to get into Infinity years upon years upon years ago, but had no one local to play with on a regular basis, which sucked as I liked the concept and factions and such at the time. But Warhammer 40k is a regular thing at a shop around the corner from me, so thats what I am going to jump in.
Unless they’ve changed this for N5, your shots for and against you are always taken at a part of a movement where it most benefits the shooter. So if you move into cover, the ARO would be taken against your trooper while they’re out in the open, unless the ARO trooper can only see them once they’re already in cover
I'm so torn on how I feel about the dodge roll and how it interacts with the shooting. At base you want low numbers since that's what you need to succeed, but if your target rolls a successful dodge, now you don't want low numbers, you want a number that's low enough to succeed, but high enough to beat your opponent. It's like the dodging character wants to just barely succeed at their roll instead of getting that Nat 1 like the shooting character wants. It feels like it would be so much simpler to just have it be lower number wins, dodging would just function as setting the DC "higher" assuming it achieves a base success. That aside, fun looking game. may have to pick it up
There might be a misunderstaning here since it doesn't matter if the trooper dodges or shoots - it's always: Roll under/equal to your own skill and over the results of your opponent to succeed.
Really glad and grateful the channel continues to also try non-GW games even though 40K has the low-hanging fruit regarding viewcounts.
Especially a game as good as Infinity. SUCH a superior game system over GWs

One big thing to remember about Infinity coming from 40K: No pre-measuring! It's a tough one to stop doing.
