Let me know what you think of the new Gladius sounds. Personally, I'm a fan. For a sci-fi space ship it really hits the nail on the head for me as this thing to me sounds aggressive and militaristic with its subtle high-pitch whine that sounds like a sci-fi intake. To its bombastic and punchy boosts one-shot as you step on the throttle. Overall, I love it and can't wait to see what CIG does with it as the patch progresses toward a live release. See you in the next one. o7
I love it! Bravo to the sound guys. I love hearing the high pitched jet engine turbine noise. It reminds me of real jets and even the X-Wing. It's adds a layer of authenticity. I first started listening in 3rd person (in atmosphere), and switched to first person. I was amazed at how it sounds the same except it sounds like you're really inside the ship in the cockpit. If they add the realistic audio stuff in space, it's a new standard for sound in space games IMO.
YES finally. ships, especially fighters should sound WAY beefier. there is not much separating you from the thrusters and engines so you should really hear how your ship performs. Especially when accelarating.
YOooooo that sounded great! Then you hit the boost and I said "wow" out loud. I feel like dogfighting in this will be so immersive. One critique I have is that I can't tell if they are trying to mimic wind noise with the atmo flight or just engine noises being audible in atmo. If it is wind, I can't tell if its dynamic with speed or not based on this video. In small airplanes, you can tell your picking up speed just by listening to the wind outside the cockpit which adds to the "flying by the seat of your pants" feeling.
The new audio is such an immersive addition, thanks for not talking over it, so many would. You do put a lot of thought into your content, you tutorials are well thought out and packed with tips and info. Much appreciated.
This adds an entire new level of emersion with just sound, that's crazy cool! Hope they do this with all the ships to make them all sound somewhat unique.
Wow. With the new master modes flight model and the audio compare with it the flight looks so much more visceral and intense that before. Atmo dogfights look like they’re going to be legit.
I love it. Can’t wait for this to be rolled out to every ship. It will make ship differentiation even deeper. Branding is going to be affected as well. Each ship manufacturer will have a signature sound etc. I’ve been waiting for this for such a long time.
2:10 "high speed boost" Same speed as in SCM. I get that its atmos limited by drag, but still. Given the detrimental effects of NOT being in SCM mode (in terms of survivability), it'd be nice if we had overall higher speed potential, even in atmo.
was surprised to see/hear this, I wonder if the rest of the ships are brought up to the same standard sooner rather than later and more tweaks to muffled sounds in space and in general higher contrast between atmo/ non-atmo would be great, IMHO
Yes, it does sound great, and thanks very much for demonstrating so clearly! I wonder, what's your opinion of the way the game transmits sounds in atmo or hangars, compared to what you hear in deep space with no atmosphere?
I'd absolutely expect fighter thrusters to be loud just by the ship construction. Now I'm going to go and loudly wait for the rest for the Sq42 Gladius stuff to make it over lol.
You'd expect them to be loud... on the *outside* of the ship, definitely not on the inside. The construction is almost identical to current fighter jets. Just watch some DCS videos to hear what they sound like inside the cockpit. Pretty much like the sound we *had*
@@eavdmeer I've sat in seat when I used to work fighters It's nicer, just still fairly loud. You're normally wearing hearing protection in that case. Though SC is a bit different since you aren't hearing much of anything if thrust isn't being applied so it's a tough comparison.
way better than before but there is more potential ...the engine sound at the take off is barely noticeable ...think the startup procedure could be a little more "sim-like" in the way of: start up batteries, turn on the "power-reactor" and finally start the engines ...combined with some more "realistic" sounds would do it for me. its a bit cheap to press one button and boom bang instant startup ...the whole procedure should be stretched to around 10-15 seconds for the sake of immersion
@@garygrieves6752 maybe so, but even something like the A10 Warthog (not the epitome of refinement) doesn't sound like a bucket of rusty bolts like this thing does now. Fighters are loud on the outside, but definitely not inside

I agree totally. Though I enjoy the sounds of the Hornet Mrk II more.
Wayyy better than F7 and Arrow's sound in current live patch

im in a can with rockets on, and now it sounds like one. Love it.
Night and day difference between the old and new Gladius sounds, I love em
I feel like the new sounds really help with the sense of speed. Even in SCM mode it actually felt fast compared to what we currently experience.

Yeah, all of the new sounds are awesome
It has such a nice "growl" to it with that high pitched whistle.
The boost is godly, especially when it's at peak

It's a lot better and makes it a whole lot more immersive when you have good sound effects to go along with good graphics
Very nice, this game is coming along very well
You can hear the stress. Sounds awesome.
I hope the other ships get this treatment soon and we get the new citizencon audio.

LOL, yes, I picture my Corsair sounding like a creaking bucket of bolts... 🤣🤣🤣
Hell yeah, these high-performance spacecraft are supposed to SCREAM like a bat out of hell as they tear through the sky.
Sounds so aggressive, loving it!
Wow! Layers and depth like crazy. God, I can't wait for SQ42.

The sound is so good it made me pull it back out and use it as my daily.

Awesome HUD visibility, they nailed it.... excelent work!

I think my ears just came .... I felt that engine startup in my soul....
I was kind of hoping they would sound like the SU-57, seems perfect for this ship!
I will miss the classic Gladius _woooooo_
Also a big fan of the new sounds, thanks for the upload!
All Ships need a Sound rework. This is a nice one.
Man, I can't wait for this sound pass to reach the Hull C... I want those huge engines to shake my teeth loose when I hit the boost.
Can we get a deep dive on the new weapons changes? I really wanna SEE the difference between omniskys, lightstrikes and the behring M-series now.
I personally love the idea of the engine blasting me deaf
cant wait to blast around in my pirate gladius
Damn that new sound is so tempting.
Seems like they are going for more the realistic direction per 'the tailgunner' -- THANK GOD
now this is Audio

keep up the good work !!
In atmo, it sounds like they installed the Horns of Jericho on it.
i like how almost every new feature is tested by gladius)
Jesus, six seconds in the video and I thought my sound card fried
thanks for that lol
To me ~2.7 still had the best and beefiest quantum sounds. Although I like these "in quantum-travel" sounds.
Can't wait to see what they do with the big ship emgines
Did they introduce the "no sound in space toggle" yet?
it's kinda cool, reminds me alot of the x-wing, but it's way too bright, it's going to give massive headaches
How's performance been? Seems to be running pretty well.
Nice but will the sounds work at the live servers ? Usually the sounds are so buggy you hardly can hear them .
Sounds mean, I love it.
yes please
it sounds really nice , what's your opinion on the ship itself ?
What happened to our own hangers
wow, gonna need ear plugs lol, sounds amazing!
I can’t bring myself to fly anything else since all the old ships have the old quieter sounds lol this thing just sounds angry

Uhm, well, this is a bit too reminiscent of a diesel locomotive for my taste. Doesn't say: 'sleek and refined fighter' to me
The Gladius is an aging museum piece by this point in 2954. They're only in use because of how many there were and the logistics are still around.
Gladius is not a refined fighter. Aegis don’t do “refined”….

brooooooo it's a beeeeeeeeeeeast
Title says EPTU but its in PTU...
please add helicopters for planet side vehicles.
that high pitch sound in there is awful, it legit hurts my ears, i can't even finish watching
Not impressed. But it's okayish.
Everyone is loving the new ship sounds except me. I really hate them
Why ?
I agree 100%. It's obvious why.
Oh, not everyone! I think this 'improvement' is terrible, immersion breaking and shockingly arcady and unrealistic
It sounds incredibly fake.
